    I remember Justin well. I used to go to Les Mills where I had a very alternative workout that focused on flexibility; balance and working with my own body-weight. I talked to him now and then and he always showed me a lot of respect for the way I trained. It is sad because he was genuinely friendly guy, so I wish he could have followed a more healthy path.

      Really?
      I remember going to the gym physique in-focus in Upper Hutt after my day at high school in 1993-95 and this turd was lingering around trying to sell drugs and pick up girls from my classes (who were also going to this gym). And he was a complete wanker with a big inferiority complex.
      Mind you he would’ve still been a teenager at that time.

    Having been a recreational natural bodybuilder for 31 years this makes me sad. I have been around many arrogant jerks that were using large amounts of steroids over the years. But this guy seems like a nice guy who just got caught up in addiction. Whether it is the recreational drug kind or the steroid kind it is all the same. People are just trying to change how they feel. Bodybuilding has become a death cult. It is funny ( and sad) to hear the younger steroid users saying the drugs are harmless.

      Listen; steroids aren't harmless but they're not as dangerous as natties like you claim. I am a young bodybuilder too (21) but This dude had garbage genetics and he absolutely abused the drugs. Most pro-bodybuilders on the Olympia stage really don't even take As much as people think.
      Test and Tren are more than enough for more Olympia guys at around 500mg of test a week

    • @michaelstout8501

      Steroids aren't as much the issue as the ecstasy abuse and his taking a litre of GHB a week.

    • @michaelstout8501
      @michaelstout8501 6 лет назад +1

      And by ecstasy abuse, I mean he took a crap load. I would imagine part of his mental function issues are from the constant draining of seratonin from his brain for years.

    What killed him? the GHB (fantasy) plus the growth hormones/IGF1/insuline plus steroid side effects and the weight carried .. But especially the ghb and gh .. gh makes the heart and brain grow too .. add testosterone and other androgens to the mix and 50 kgs of additional weight and here you go .. big heart damaged brain etc .. plus the GHB which is terrible.. years and years of abuse .. the dose he took was INSANE .. wondering why he didn't die before .. anyways RIP

    Makes me wonder what his relationship was like with his mother. Many adult problems start with emotional programming installed in childhood. Children require a basic level of acceptence and love for the brain to develop correctly. If the brain is wired to fight or flight mode through an emotionly turbulant homelife the child may look for protection. Getting bigger and stronger is good protection.

    I don't think that it was the steroids that caused his illness, I think that it was the GHB that caused his mental illness. Also, I know that his heart failure is due to the steroids, idk why these bodybuilders use such high doses of gear if he maybe didn't use such a high dose of gear I don't think it would have cause such detrimental damage to his heart. More is not always better, I know people are going to use gear no matter what but please stick to lower doses and keep getting yourself checked out by a doctor frequently that way if any potentially fatal damage is happening it can be caught in time and give you a chance to stop and correct it

      This turd stain Justin Rhys used to linger around my local gym when I was a high school kid in Upper Hutt back in 1993-5. And he used to try and push us to get steroids off of him. And he used to try and chat up the high school girls at this gym. Until one day the guy who ran the place realised there was something off about him always trying to get chummy with kids 2-3 years his junior & from a different school and told him that if he kept doing it he would have to ask him to never come back. So he just got more low key about it. He offered 4-5 friends of mine steroids, although outside of the gym. I heard that some guy in our 1st XV did get steroids from him. He was a grubby snake.

    "we have all got to do what we love" I agree but also with a healthy mind, dying at 38 is sad. Blaming steroids? Maybe GH and other drugs he was using the signs is his extended belly. GH as I have researched will grow your internal organs including the heart, and being too big short of breath which is the muscle MASS achieved through steroids, as many of the mass monsters do use breathing aid at night-time, but so do obese people as I once was. But definitely the mental health part, of never knowing. :(
