My parents live in a senior community. I can see why younger people want to move in one of these communities. Very peaceful.

@@Summerdee223 I'm just being honest. I like gen x. Most millennials do. However, what's about to happen isn't going to be pretty.
Most of the financial burden of boomer elder care is falling on us. We're getting ready to take ours. These were the people that hung us out. It's their turn now. POA and cognitive awareness/welfare checks are skyrocketing.
We're abandoning them at home, then calling for cognitive tests. Bye bye DL, Bank account control, etc...
Like I said, ugly. But also necessary. We CANNOT ALLOW them to burn our futures up completely. BlackRock hates our guts cuz we're taking control of mortgages/deeds and not selling because we've never had homes.
That's what we're after. The money is for Z and A. The houses are for us.
When I moved to my condo in Jupiter in 2008, it was all 55 and up And the old lady upstairs was very upset that I was moving in. Although I was quiet and I loved where I lived. Too bad the rent has tripled now.
In my senior community they have to prove they are at least 55yrs old
Moved into a golf neighborhood 2 years ago. North of Charlotte NC. Bunch of NASCAR guys bought clubhouse an all. Now it’s the most modern and younger crowd focused course around. 35 going on 60 fits me right now 😂

This is most boring, polo shirt, white picket fences story next to golf I’ve ever seen.
My Boomer generation parents live in a newer 55-plus community on a golf course with pool and fitness center. It's very nice compared to most of the housing stock in the area. My wife and I are Millennials, and I joke, "Only 16 more years until we can be your neighbors!" LOL.

Unless you bought before the pandemic and held on, you've already been priced out of the hip, trendy, walkable urban communities. Maybe not these people but the ones likely making up the bulk of millennials moving to peripheral suburbs which is still the path of least resistance for building new housing.
Title should say 'Wealthy Millennials" or 'Not Your Average Millennials'.

This makes me wonder why do retired people play golf more than any other sport? Why don't more retire people play tennis, go bowling, play badminton or play billiards etc? What is it about golf that attracts retirees more than any other sport?
It’s a social sport. It’s easy on the body. You’re out in nature.its a very sophisticated lifestyle.
