@@AbadaWeeeeeeee We will see: To each their own. I listened to the entirety of the interview and would critique what was said and what was NOT said. Pope Francis speaks of a Ceasefire in Palestine BUT makes no proclamation about dismantling Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran which have vowed to eradicate Israel. A broad Paint Brush tarnishes Conservatives on Illegal Immigration without noting the crime, the impossible to sustain reality of overtaxing our resources and the confusion which results from bestowing official Blessing upon illicit acts (Should we now Bless Priests who are Pedophiles?). I love his comment - "You can criticize a country's govt. . . . but not a people," as a way of avoiding being anti-Palestinian or anti-Jewish. He also exhorts us not to be "hard-hearted" and "indifferent" like Pontius Pilate and try to wash our hands of the wrongs we see happening. This is a pope of exemplary courage and caring!
I don't think Pontius Pilate is the best example of the point. Pilate saw no guilt in Jesus, but the Jews insisted so he made them make the choice. Of course this was God's Will being carried out as the Jews accepted having Christs blood not only on their hands but their childrens as well. Pilate could have done more but it wasn't Gods Will, as Jesus said, if His Father wanted to exact justice He could send legions of Angels to defend Him. I note well that when Jesus told him he was sent to testify to the truth, Pilates question: "What is truth?" Jesus did not say a word and did not answer his question. The silence is 'deafening'. As St. Paul preached so forcefully: "God is not mocked." Amen. +

Listening to secular people talk to or about Catholicism is so frustrating. The language they use proves they understand nothing about the Church. Like labeling the priesthood's nature (a male vocation) as a "policy" like some meeting was held 2,000 years ago and we just need a better HR department 🙄
This video enlightened me on how much the media does not interview to listen, but interviews to gain more agency in moral arguments. Pope Francis is asked ridiculously cornering questions, cut off before finishing his statements, and poorly restated by the interviewer. Pope Francis did better at handling that than many others leaders I've seen.
It's not about learning, rather it's about creating content that'll get clicks. Which means all they want to do is incite people to outrage. The incentive structure is broken... Which, in a way, is our own fault.
What organizations like 60 minutes are about is self service... What 60 minutes owes its listeners is reading the Church's spoken word and listening to its belief not asking loaded one sided questions. Why His Holiness agrees to attempt to answer such one sided unresolvable questions is something he ought not to do.
I don't know, I don't feel like these questions were unfair or "cornering", seems like reasonable questions that the average American would have for the pope. It also doesn't feel over edited or contrived. Just a journalist doing their job, asking honest questions, getting honest answers.
I’m glad the pope was able to correct a recent story that said the pope blessed homosexual marriage . He said he blessed each individual but NOT the union .
Normally, they misunderstood him bc of his language. English and Spanish are two different languages. That's why I feel bad for Pope that Catholic hater easily twist his messages...to make him a bad person!
because the papacy is the devil. Jesus has warned us, “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves” "Great thieves go Scott-free, as the Pope and his crew." Martin Luther
Pope Francis is what a Pope should be; holding the line, a balance in a good way, between tradition and human change and progress. Not being either too traditional or too modern. It is a delicate balance and he does it well. He also comes across as human and compassionate, not judgmental or authoritarian. These attitudes are much needed, and often in short supply today, in politics, and in all walks of life. A great interview, the interviewer hit all the right notes. Thanks 60 minutes and thanks Norah O’Donnell.
He is a perfect pope if you want your church to be run by a demented demon! Why don’t you do some research on what a “wonderful human” he truly is before you falsely idolize him. Don’t you know GOD doesn’t want you to idolize false prophets/gods?!
@@sA-ny2jl you must read the document and not the you get from the media. He never said he was blessing a union, and the document makes that very clear. People receive blessings as individuals, as couples, and as an entire group. The priest blesses the entire congregation at the end of every Mass. It doesn’t mean that he is blessing their sin.
I was delighted to see one of Francis's favorite paintings on the wall (above and between them). "Mary, Untier of Knots" has a wonderful story that goes with it, and it also played an important role in the pope's life. Of course, there is also a novena that goes with the painting. It's worth checking out.

Please know the church accepts all people. Anyone can walk into church. But don’t ask for approval on the way you live life? If you think you are living life how you should, why seek approval unless you are doing something wrong? Ppl don’t go to church to seek approval. When you go to mass, while it is a celebration you are walking at calvary. You are telling the Lord your sins - you are repenting, and ready to be made a anew by receiving the Holy Eucharist where you receive the Holy Spirit. So now that you know you can go to mass what do ppl mean by “Church must accept all…like gay and abortion”. Sounds like seeking approval at all cost when the stance is “no same sex marriage” and “prolife”. But even when you aren’t these things, you can still go to church. The doors are never close. Even sinners go to church and that includes everyone. But to receive Holy communion you must receive the sacraments and confess your sins. Don’t expect to receive sacraments for marriage when you know God does not approve. But even when you sin, God loves you like a mother would love a child. God loves all, what is love? Love is staying quiet when you want to yell. Love is loving the other without possession. Love is being tempted by sin and not acting upon it. The church does so much for women who have gone through abortions, and regret or are scarred by it. So if something is so right, like abortion - why do some women become traumatized and seek shelter in “women’s houses”? God does not leave anyone behind, ppl leave God behind. We hear to often “Walk with Christ”, when in reality Christ is dying to walk with you, while you are running away. So if you are gay, you are pro- abortion go to church with an open mind. Funny, when ppl blame the church for being closed minded. So walk what you preach and go with an open mind, listen to the Word. Keep the sabbath Holy, that is the first step, out of a bazillion things you have yet to know and learn.
REALLY THERE ISN'T A BAZILLION THINGS THAT YOU HAVE TO KNOW AND LEARN. THE ONLY ANSWER IS JESUS. JUST HIM. HE IS THE ANSWER AND SOLUTION TO EVERYTHING. THE FIRST STEP IS NOT KEEP THE SABBATH HOLY, THE FIRST STEP IS CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH AND FROM YOUR HEART THAT YOU ARE A SINNER, ASK JESUS TO FORGIVE YOU, TURN AWAY FROM SIN, CONFESS THAT HE IS NOT ONLY SAVIOR, BUT LORD, OVER YOUR LIFE...AND YOU WILL BE SAVED. NOTHING MORE. NOTHING LESS.
All I know is that when CBS 60 minutes tells me something, someone more powerful than me wants me to believe that that something is true for their own benefit.
Eph. 6. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (ESV) Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
SIN should never be accepted. It is difficult enough to stay away from sin because we are all sinners, but to condone sin is the biggest sin of all, especially by the Head of the Church. Accept all people as children of God, but do not condone the sin. It's time to stop ambiguity and out of love, correct us sinners.

Thank you for this interview. I realize Pope Francis is in a uniquely difficult situation; much has been said both about how progressive he is or how much more he really needs to be, but while he must continue to push hard to reform Catholicism, too quick of a shift from tradition would cause backlash from those within the church, some of whom are already questioning and opposing some of Francis's decisions, despite papal infallibility being a core dogma of the church. Here's hoping he continues to push for positive change in ways that lead to genuine reform for an institution that absolutely needs it.
I think he would do much more if he could. I think he knows just how far he can push reform without losing support (any further) from the Curia and his congregation. Change is often slow.
Though I agree with you and like Pope Francis, Papal Infallibility has only been used twice: Once for the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, and once for the doctrine of the Assumption. Not everything the Pope utters is "infallible". Thank God!
Papal infallibility is limited and poorly understood. The pope is not free to just say whatever he pleases or teach whatever he likes. That's not how it works.

@@Sirder Missed the point huh❌ - Pope Francis is Praying to God and reminding us to do it. I think the Pope is Pro GOD and has more understanding of theology after decades of University and study than your simple minded comment. 🧠
The Pope is a simple man, he is not speaking in rocket science language, it is what is commonly understood: humans are basically good, with a good heart. He says that we are only a little sinners, but that the heart is good, it goes against the word of God, which tells us: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, NOT EVEN ONE.” There is a reason why we need transformed hearts (Ezekiel 36:26), just as there is a reason why we cannot be righteous before God except through living faith in Christ. There is no such thing as good but a little bit bad for God. For men who are sinners it may seem like such a thing, but such righteous is only relative in our eyes. And he is not referring to the man who was made without sin by God, he is talking about fallen man, who is, certainly, fundamentally evil.

The statement that "all ideologies are bad" is a sweeping generalization that may not hold true in all cases. Ideologies are systems of beliefs, values, and ideas that shape how individuals view the world and guide their actions. While some ideologies have been associated with negative outcomes, such as oppression, conflict, and discrimination, it is important to recognize that not all ideologies are inherently harmful. It is crucial to approach ideologies with a critical and nuanced perspective. While some ideologies may have led to harmful consequences when taken to extremes or implemented without regard for human rights and dignity, others have been instrumental in promoting positive social change, advocating for equality, and advancing human rights. Rather than painting all ideologies with the same brush, it is important to evaluate them on a case-by-case basis. It is essential to consider the context in which an ideology is applied, its impact on individuals and society, and whether it aligns with principles of justice, equality, and human rights. Healthy debate, critical thinking, and open dialogue are vital in assessing the merits and drawbacks of different ideologies. By engaging in respectful discussions, challenging assumptions, and promoting empathy and understanding, it is possible to navigate the complexities of ideologies and work towards a more inclusive and just society. 🤷♂️
Not quite, a couple of ideologies sit side by side in the west, one corrects the excess of the other. And in doing that they have appealed to a higher truth. The truth that all Western and democratic societies was built on. Haven't you noticed that one ideology is now completely dominating, surely haven't you noticed that this isn't going well at all.
@outoforbit00 We have people staying in power until their 90s is one of the reasons to blame. You would think that with a country of approximately 330 million people (the U.S) that there would be better representation than what we currently have, especially in 2024. We are failing the rest of the world at a place that was once revered to be a place to accomplish life changing discoveries, opportunities and innovation. I don't like to point fingers but what we currently have which in essence has existed for long enough are making things worse and not better. It's not going to take one person to fix it the world's problems but thousands if not millions which is definitely not an overnight process but will most likely take many, many years to accomplish and we keep kicking the can with not looking at the long term effects. It astounds me how people don't either think of these things or realize them, but one can hope for change.

Not everything is explicit in the Bible, not even how the apostle John died. If you are a child(creature) of God, you have to have something good in you! Gen 1:31 ,1 Timothy 4:4
@TheDbwillia Christ Jesus is sinless because he was born of the Holy Spirit. He did not inherit the sinful seed (mans seed - sperm) of Adam. Mary was not born of the Holy Spirit. Both her parents were human beings with a sinful nature just like your parents and my parents were. Apart from Christ Jesus we are all born inheriting the sin of Adam because the seed (sperm) from our father (earthly father) contained the sinful seed. Read your bible, the Apostle Paul was born a sinner, Peter was born a sinner, All the disciples were born sinners. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, King David all were born sinners. Mary was born a sinner. She says so herself when she calls God Jesus Christ her Savior. Only sinners need a Savior. Luke 1:47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. Jesus Christ is God (God the Son) the only one born without the sinful seed of Adam. Worshipping Mary is Idolatry. God hates Idolatry because only Jesus Christ is worthy of our praise and worship. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God the Father and finite man. Praying to Mary is insulting to Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ is our only hope, Our Living hope, not Mary. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Read your bible and don't listen to and follow false teachers. Religion will save no one. Only knowing and believing (having faith) in Jesus Christ (the Living Word) will save a man's soul. Study, the answers are in the word (the bible). Jesus is the answer for the world today.
Why does he want America to have open borders? I'm thinking he doesn't know about all the human trafficking and drug trafficking going on through the border. As a Catholic myself it makes more sense to me that we close the borders and make ourselves strong so we can help other countries become stronger. If I'm wrong I'd love to know why.
The Catholic Church does a lot to combat drug and human trafficking, too. He's not naive... perhaps he knows of a way to end that and to still support migrants? Also, even with closed borders, those evils would occur.
I love Pope Francis but I don’t think he understands America’s open borders. His family immigrated to Argentina legally. Norah’s family immigrated legally. We are having an invasion. Big difference.
I do not see how the pope is advocating for open borders. He says migrants must be processed humanely, even if it means sending them back. He has said in the past that borders should be “points of contact” but this does not mean allowing traffickers through unabated. He also seems to believe based on his comments here that migration (when properly managed) can help grow and strengthen a country, not weaken it. Lastly, the US has been the strongest country in the world for decades - how much stronger must we get before we can help our neighbors to the south?
What a hypocrite! When given a chance to adopt a zero tolerance policy on child sexual abuse by priests, he remained silent! How can you claim to be god's representative on earth and condone this? That's evil, plain and simple. "Religion permits the normalization of abhorrent actions", C. Hitchens.
I am Somali Christian Convert from Islam, even though I am not Catholic but Seventh Day Adventist , I am in agreement with the Pope on Issues of War, Immigrants and "Globalization of Indefference." Peace to All!
You didn't hurt my feeling, brother, but please allow me to explain. The Catholic Church and the Pope are not perfect, and never will be. God uses imperfect people to accomplish his will. If you know the Bible, you know this is true. However, the Catholic Church is the only Church having authority to teach or act in Christ's name. Ordained Catholic clergy, including the Pope, are said "To act in persona christi", to represent Christ’s person. This is what God wanted. read Matt 16:18-19. Here, Jesus gave authority to Peter and all his successors. He did not give authority to anyone who picks up a Bible and reads it. This is why, since the Protestant revolution, we now have over 50,000 different churches who all claim to have the true interpretation of scriptures. And, it has become very confusion for some people. In my own personal life, I can honestly say I have never felt as close to following Christ as I have since I began devoutly following the teachings and precepts of the Catholic Church. And, I encourage all to do your own due diligence and try to understand what the Church teaches, why, and where it can be found in scripture. You won't be disappointed, and if you come home to the Church, you will feel closer to God and his son Jesus Christ than you could ever imagine. God Bless...

This mob stole pre-existing philosophy, tainted it with messianic madness, and sold it to us with the lie of original sin and along with expensive indulgences … That was how they grew strong and came to own the incredible wealth they hold today. Go back further, to the untainted philosophy … it’s worth it.
Pope Francis is by far totally different from others in the Church. I hope he does what is best for the people he serves and that of the church he represents.
We pray for the holiness and unity of the Catholic Church. May all our spiritual leaders be filled with and guided by the Holy Spirit! This is our family's staple prayer. When the world is becoming more and more transparent, we the Catholics should become happier to showcase our good activities. God bless our Holy Father and give him long life!
@4:31 "...migration makes a country grow." Yes, but controlled and legal, not just a Völkerwanderung of millions from one region to another. And "migration" means to move between two places on a seasonal basis. To move from one region to another and not return to the original place is not migration. The issue in Texas is that the Catholic charity helps break our law. They completely ignore that aspect of the immigration controversy, legal vs illegal, and assimilating into the new culture or remaining apart, and the Balkanization that results. Disingenuous, but the kind of distortion I expect from O'Donnell and "60 Minutes".

60 minutes: “Here’s my political opinion guised as a question, with zero counter argument…. Tell me why I’m right.”
I don't know, I don't feel like these questions were unfair or "cornering", seems like reasonable questions that the average American would have for the pope. It also doesn't feel over edited or contrived. Just a journalist doing their job, asking honest questions, getting honest answers.
The full interview airs on Monday night. This is a preview of it.

Colossians 2:16 EXPLAINED!!!
To understand Colossians 2:16,
I think we should first get a little more context on the verse.
Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Colossians 2:14 speaks of:
-Handwriting
-Ordinances
-Contrary & Against us!!!

The Law of Moses
👉was written with HANDWRITING!
👉did contain ORDINANCES!
👉 was CONTRARY & AGAINST us!!!
👆🏽This was just for a little more context
(Colossians 2:16 😃Great question! )
There's TWO different Sabbaths in the Holy Bible.
1) The WEEKLY 7th day sabbath
Established at creation (Genesis 2:2,3)
Commanded in God's Law(Exo.20:8-11)
An eternal law for all mankind!
2) The 7 ANNUAL feast sabbaths
Found in the "Law of Moses"
(Leviticus Ch.23) a temporary law commanded for ancient Israel.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moons, or of the sabbath days.
~ Colossians 2:16
▪️MEAT = Sacrificing animals
▪️DRINK = Drink offerings
▪️HOLYDAY = feast days were also called "holyday"
▪️NEW MOONS = the feast days fell according to the new moons cycle.
▪️SABBATHS = the feast days were also called "sabbaths" regardless of the day of the week it might have fallen on.
(Col.2:16)
is obviously speaking of the
"Feast Sabbaths" found in the:

@@protestant77 Frankly, I don't think God cares that much, so long as you take one day off per week to rest and think about Him.
❤ very well said
REALLY THERE ISN'T A BAZILLION THINGS THAT YOU HAVE TO KNOW AND LEARN. THE ONLY ANSWER IS JESUS. JUST HIM. HE IS THE ANSWER AND SOLUTION TO EVERYTHING. Yes I do, however some people can be that silly.
Only God is holy by his very essence; however, by a person, place, or thing’s association with God, it too can be called holy. To be called holy is to express the idea of consecration, that someone or something belongs to God. That is why the Bible can call many persons, places, and things holy. Pope Francis is looked upon as a father figure to many 😊
@@AmFMv1968 The Bible straight says to call no one else father. It also said no one is good but God. No one is “Holy”, all are sinners. Have you read The Bible? Cearley curious about that because many that I know that were raised in Catholicism have told me they were taught not to read the Bible that they didn’t need to.
13:07 He say people are fundamentally good. Well he Needs to read Mark 10:18 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is is good - except God alone."
RIGHT?: im no bibilical scholar but i know that is a direct contradiction to the word of God. Wow.
Oh wow, were you really taught that? This passage means men are bad? How depressing! In my Catholic education, I was taught that this means goodness comes from God, not from man deeds alone. However, I do see if you were raised a fundamentalist why someone would come to a different conclusion.
Going to the Pope to ask for His approval to have a surrogate carry your child because it's your "only hope left" is like a smack in the face to God!

Here's hoping he continues to push for positive change in ways that lead to genuine reform for an institution that absolutely needs it.
he's a corrupt snake with handlers. period.
THERE SHOULD BE NOTHING 'DIFFICULT' HERE. THE BIBLE IS THE TRUTH, AND WE ARE TO NEVER CHANGE WHAT IT SAYS...PERIOD.
13:06 the Pope says people are fundamentally good. Romans 3: 10-12 says no one is good, not even one. We are all born sinners, it is through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross that gives us hope. Don't believe what the Pope says

What a very intimate, insightful and beautiful interview. A conversation spoken with respect, love and understanding.

@@davidoken6787 yes America is obsessed with making money, it's the only game in town and has been for a long time. A whole corporate legal structure has been built around it to the point where there are laws to cancel laws, which of course means if a person is excessively wealthy, they can pay the lawyers and get away with anything. Christ Jesus is sinless because he was born of the Holy Spirit.
Luke 1:47
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,
Read your bible and don't listen to and follow false teachers.
He's clueless. This man was NOT SENT BY GOD. He's of another Christ, Mary and Gospel!!!

I have many friends who are catholic. I do not wish to hurt anyone's feelings, but do not follow this man follow Christ.
