I'd rather drink wine and sleep with a half sister cousin than be dragged into the LGBTQ crowd there more messed up than a person who would sleep with family at least they don't indoctrinate children and stupid teenagers
I think Rhaenyra should have trusted Alicent with the secret of her affair with Criston, Alicent would have never tattled on her friend, this one the main reason how Alicent and Rhaenyra turn from friends to enemies in the first place
"Queer customs" but then Alicent's own son and daughter marry each other and have children of their own.
Ewwww
Well that's precisely BECAUSE Alicent's children are Targaryens as well
She just included that to make sense of how Rhaenyra could be attracted to her uncle. The problem was not that that were related, it was that they were not married. 😊
@@shimanopetermann9068 still hypocritical.
Queer can mean strange or odd.
"You Targaryens..." she said, while being married into the Targaryen family and wearing the Targaryen colors.
Pretty sure this is the last time they put her in red.
Her father made her.
...And? LMAO you realize you can be weirded out by your in-laws right?
She never really saw herself as a Targaryen and was weirded out by the family customs but she sure did want to enjoy the privileges Targaryens enjoy for herself and her children.
Biggest hypocrite ever imo
@@DC-nw3ucShe married her children to each other. She has no leg to stand on.
I love how she goes straight to “Who told your father this?!” Like they need to be questioned sharply
That's her method. Deny the truth and punish those who speak it
@@notaseal7864 except she told the truth. She didn't fuck her uncle.
It was really that or die. Women were owned, and had literally no say. Even future queens, as we have seen. Rhaenyra is playing the game, as hard as she can
And she's right to ask. Anyone who wants to survive the game needs to have good informants and try to avoid their enemies' ones.
Ok well who told Otto?
"My father is no gossip"
Yet her father just tells her something he heard without any proof. That's literally spreading rumors which is a gossip
Except that there were like plenty of people that saw her in the pleassure house 💀
Her father didn’t tell her, and it’s a whole system of secrets that he has been using for years. It’s not like there’s cameras in Westeros
@@xaviergarcia8342yeah but she never fucked Daemon there so he was spreading gossip
That had a good bit of proof that suggests that, and let's be clear, both of them would have definitely banged if Daemon could have gotten it up in that moment.

Rhaenyra: "How do you wanna know what's good for me?"
Alicent: "That's my OPINION!!!!!"
Oh, man. What a reference. Hahahaha
Lmao that is hilarious 😂 combining those two worlds made me laugh so hard
Legend
"tell me the whole of it" why would she? Like why would she EVER? It's not like she's offering any help or understanding, she's only accusing. She's not asking as a friend, she's asking as an interrogator, encouraged by a father who thinks this is a good way to destabilise Rhaenyra's legitimacy as heir. Alicent was already the enemy here.
…I respectfully disagree… Alicent was not overly antagonistic, taking the severity of the situation into consideration. She knew that Otto would not report that to the king unless he had absolute trust in his sources (we see the face he makes when he realizes that he has to tell the king. It it not that of a schemer, but rather that of a man who is knows that it will hurt his friend but believes he has the right to know), and more importantly she knew Rhaenyra and her recklessness. And that if she didn’t talk some sense into her friend the realm would be at severe risk of civil war, for the next century or so, regardless of if the rebels were her sons or anyone else. 😊
Alicent just want to help rhanyra and rhanyra is a layar
@@debamlyabanerjee4067 did she lie? She was asked if she fucked daemon which she didn't. No one asked I'd she fucked her guard.
@@leogad669 Respectfully, no. "Tell me the whole of it, Rhaenyra!" already implying she's lying or hiding something. "Is it? You Targaryens do have queer customs." Once again questioning her truthfulness and then insulting her family immediately after. "Why not?" "He was told" she's determined to believe these rumors before this conversation ever starts. Regardless of their veracity, Alicent did not approach Rhaenyra like a friend or even like a concerned stepmother. She was antagonistic and hostile, making it even more clear than it already was that Rhaenyra cannot trust her or confide in her. This kind of information could ruin or even END Rhaenyra's life, and they both know that. And Alicent went in determined to make Rhaenyra tell her the rumors that could get her killed were true. She was Otto's little puppet and unbearably self-righteous, right from the beginning.
@@leogad669 Her saying things like "Why would you even put yourself in this position" and more things of the sort..is showing that she's coming to her as Queen...instead of her friend, and then she gets mad when Rhaenyra lies.

Amen to that
awww touchy about people questioning a girl fucking her own uncle? She was pimped out but not with her choice. She was helpless. But Rhaenyra and Daemon did it willingly which makes them sick fck.
She wasn’t shaming her for that. She just included it to make sense of (and perhaps show the legitimacy of the concerns for) her attraction to her uncle. The real problem was not that they were related, it was that they were not married.
@@leogad669 Alicent was jealous of Rhaenyra to some aspect. Let's not forget they were bestfriends until Otto, pimped out his daughter to the King and ruined their friendship forever. Then Alicent marries her kids to each other to keep the bloodline...she adapted to those queer customs rather quickly. Stole Rhaenyra's birth right, cause she couldn't accept the truth...her sons didn't matter cause he has an heir to the throne and it wasn't her son. Otto plotted against the king & princess using his daughter
@@NicholeClinton
To be fair, her kids are Targaryen and even if they're queer customs, she's with their family now so, its not hypocritical, she's following their traditions
Clocking another woman’s 🐈 miles is the strangest tradition… maybe Alicent should be worried about the strange tradition her father has of pimping her out to old kings.
I mean, can't blame her. She was from Oldtown, which was basically the Vatican before the Targs came.
The problem was that Rhaenyra was the princess who was unmarried. If rumors got out that she lost her virginity to her uncle out of wedlock it would seriously be bad for her reputation. Even when Alicent found out that Rhaenyra and Criston Cole had sex, she didn’t tell anyone. Like this was genuinely out of concern for Rhaenyra because royal women were treated MUCH differently in these times.
Also, Alicent had no choice in her marriage, as most women do. She was a child having children for an old man so its truly a weird thing for you to point out when she had no control over that.
Maybe she should remember she wasn't sleeping with a noble, she was sleeping with a lowly night knight. Rhaenyra ended up marrying the man she was accused of being with. Allicent could NEVER marry cole. And also, if my friend married my dad, it's war😂

@@atiqahdiyana5665 I can’t see the original comment, so I may look stupid, but, I wouldn’t be so quick to attribute malice to Otto’s actions. He had a duty as Hand to report information of this level of importance to his king, withholding it could absolutely be seen as treason. Moreover, the way he shuts his eyes and sigh, makes me think about a guy who is about to tell his friend that said friend’s girlfriend is cheating on him. He knows it will hurt him but thinks that he has the right to know.
I think what makes Alicent hated by everyone is her envy of Rhaenyra. Alicent is the Queen and yet she was forced to marry a man she didn’t love and or really know and have his children. Rhaenyra everyone knows has had lovers before marriage, and children that weren’t hers by her lawful husband, but because of King Viserys nobody can say anything about it. Basically she’s had the freedom that Alicent could only dream for

Rhaenyra only has herself to blame. Had she applied herself properly once she learned she was Heir, there would have been no question who the majority of Westeros would support.
@@Doomzdehthis was such a fair analysis. You should tell her it's non of her business.
I find this hilarious yet infuriating at the same time. She seduces and manipulated a grieving widow and then married into said family with queer customs, she has no right to belittle or judge anyone.
Can you imagine how things would have been different if Allicent had supported and

Alicent was literally pimped out as a child to Viserys by her father, like many teenage girls in Westeros being pimped out to men and boys for breeding. The events that take place when Alicent is older are lessons for her that her naive version of the world wasn't realistic, just like Rhaenyra being taught through her experiences that her naive version of the world doesn't hold up either.

@@Groovybiha Oh no, a Targaryen heir to the Iron Throne with a dragon would surely have stopped anyone from wanting her hand, that she is no longer a virgin 🤭🤭 In the end, she only had husbands who didn't care about it, even though they knew about it. This was of maximum interest to gossip mongers.
Still none of her business
@@GroovybihaStill not Alicents place
For me, I think that Alicent is worried for Rhaenyra in two parts:
1: Her virginity. If word was to get out that Rhaenyra was no longer chaste, they'd call her wanton and urge Viserys against keeping her installed as heiress presumptive.
2: Rhaenyra's blindness when it comes to Daemon's faults. Daemon cares for his niece yes, but from the very beginning, Daemon's wanted the IT. And by marrying the heir, his son would be King.
If he was only interested in the throne, he would have killed his brother or niece long ago. Plus then he really would have taken her virginity. But he didn't. From the beginning, we could feel that he was attracted to her.And he honored all his words to the princess. Moreover, when it was already clear that his child would not be the heir to the throne, since there are already 3 children before his children, he married her even then. So I doubt he was driven by such intentions.
Alicent is only trying to accuse and judge her nothing else
It’s sad to imagine what Alicent realized too late about her father and her own hand in things, the happiness she might have reclaimed had she not let her resentment drive her decisions. The gears of power are already in motion and can’t be stopped. She can only attempt to mitigate it with damage control.

The fact that she made a big deal of her eX best friend possibly laying with her uncle only to marry her 2 children together and they have babies is crazy!

Uhhh she cares because in the medieval era, losing your virtue before marriage as a woman was a big deal. For one its an act of high treason (she’s princess and named heir) but it will destroy her reputation, ruin chances of a suitable marriage candidate and more over effect her claim to the throne.
Its not about alicent being holier than thou or minding nyra’s business…its way bigger than that.
The fact that you assume shes doing this based on jealousy shows you have very low media interpretation skills. Its got nothing to do with jealousy, its about how it will effect nyra and nyra being incredibly careless because she thinks her position as heir is enough to protect her from the consequences of her actions,
Rhaenyra’s life has always been more privileged than Alicent’s. Her parents were loving to her. Alicent’s were not, at least her father wasn’t. Rhaenyra is able to do whatever she wants without any of the consequences. Alicent has to follow the royal traditions and play the dutiful wife and Queen since it’s expected of her.
I stand by Alicent doesn’t actually care about “right or wrong”. That anything that might’ve made Rhaenyra happy without her upset her. She was clearly upset with Rhaenyra and took her obsessions and turned it into hatred.
The way she basically spat at rhaenyra here, she wasn't being the lady alicent Hightower, whom shares a friendship with the princess, she was being The Queen. And from this point on that is how rhaenyra treated her. As the queen. Ironic that this very episode is where she makes that Comment.
Questioning royalty was neverrrr her place!!!
The captions had me spitting out my drink 😂
I started watching this series thank to these videos that were on my youtube home. Thank you so much, I'm still at episode 4 but it's already fantastic😍❤
This always came across like a girlfriend finding out her lover cheated on her. Alicent is wayyyy too hurt and upset over a friend sleeping with someone else. It's not about incest considering she paired her son and daughter together (ick) so... was this war all started by a girl who didn't have the courage to pursue her lesbian love? That would explain why Criston and Alicent gravitated towards each other. They both felt jilted by that Targ girl whos just stealing all the hearts.
“I would never lose my my virginity to my uncle! But give me about ten years, and I’ll ask him to marry me”
This scene is when I started to hate Alicent. she was already the enemy at this point, interrogating her best friend for “answers”
Opposite for me. I tried so hard to like Nyra, but just hated her after this scene & was on Alicent’s side
@emilypumpkin1073 same here I prefer alicent over rhaenyra
@@emilypumpkin1073 u like hypocrite's 😅
@@MPriya-js9qx more than a self righteous murderer
@@emilypumpkin1073 i think u will be alright with ur step mother & half brother's if they took ur property ✅
“You targaryens”
Dressed as a Targaryen
Named a Targaryen
Bore targaryens
Married her son and daughter together
Fuck, and I mean this with all sincerity, Alicent.
After, the snake arranged her both children aegon and Helaena
"My father is no gossip"
Thats a blatent lie 😂😂
Alicent was just jealous of Rhaenyra! Even though she masqueraded as her friend, Alicent was always envious of Rhaenyra’s family, wealth and power! Also Rhaenyra could ride dragons, something Alicent couldn’t do! I hope we see Alicent’s downfall in season 2, she’s such a turd!
I love Alicent's dress here
i never understood why this mattered so much to her
They may have Queer customs but your ppl arent far behind them in that area
I don't get it why Alicent was angry in the first place why she cared about this situation it's not like she was some saint
And alicent the hypocrite let her children marry 😂
Queer customs... Woman you married your daughter to her brother... Uncle and niece is pretty tame for Targaryens😂
Alicant:YOU TARGARYEN'S DO HAVE QUEER CUSTOMS
Still Alicent: My children Aegon and Healena will get married and have children of their own according to the house TARGARYEN'S CUSTOMS.
Ugh!!! Alicent and Otto are Hypocrite's and conniving at its finest. Certainly like father like daughter
🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
It's almost like her children are Targaryens.
@Ninja Sapphire Viserys had accepted Rhaenyra's offer to betrothe Jace to Helaena, to which Alicent had quite clearly said "over my dead body".
I don't like Alicent. I realize that she was pushed into marrying into the crown, and I know that there is an argument that we should feel pity for her because she was basically forced into servitude. While I def feel pity for her in this regard, she should have fought against it. I suppose there's a possibility she would have ended up dead because of it, but I doubt it. And even if she did, I still think her life would have had more meaning than the legacy of gossipping and jealous behavior that she left behind- no one stays interested in people very long that act the way she does. Alicent's father is a vile man who only pretends to be loyal to the crown and he's plotting their overthrow one day. Alicent was a tool- nothing more. Even knowing this I really can't feel sorry for her for long because sometimes life just requires you to make hard decisions -you can either go the easy way like she did or the hard way which is the more honorable way. She was part of the plot whether she wanted to be or not and she stayed there throughout her life. Unpopular opinion but true.
Alicent sounded jealuos, having someone as a hand that dislikes your brother is not easy for the king, Otto makes the impossible to bring Daemon Or Rhaenyra down
The problem here is that Alicent and Rhanerya have different values. And now that Alicent is Queen it makes it more difficult. I don't think she would throw Rhanerya to the wolves.
And Rhanerya would have been initimate with Daemon if he hadn't stopped himself.
If jealousy and envy was a hightower 😂
My heart always breaks a little when she calls Alicent “sister”, they were sooooo colors and the world broke them apart
“ I swear this to you, upon the memory of my mother” , alicent will say this to her in a future episode
Alicent was jealous because she had a crush on her xixixi
Why? Why does reahnyra has to tell alicent anything??! Who is she to even ask?! The girl has serious problems. Reahnyra doesn't owe her sh**
Becuse she the Queen . 3rd most powerful person in the Realm
The moment Alicient stopped caring about Rhaenyra
If she cared about her, she wouldn't have shagged her grieving dad for 6 months behind her back.
So, right there, couldnt Alicent be charged with treason for even saying something like that out loud? Her father as well?
