Great fun turn up the settings on the tts chip using the CVS i.e type in CV 162 will read back 4 change it no 7 do all the sound CVS to no 7will make one big difference
Great video, it shows that the iPhone speaker is hard to beat £ for £ against some of the more expensive offerings on sale. It will sound even better with two iPhone speakers. I was given some cv settings too which I use on all my tts fitted locos if anyones interested they are in the description of my June 2018 update. Cheers Paul
Ah brilliant, thanks for sharing the CV settings, I'll give them a go. I did look into the double iPhone speaker option but thought space might be an issue and I wasn't too sure about how they're connect (series or parallel) and the Ohm requirements.
Sounds excellent. I found a couple of videos on installing a dual iphone 6 speaker. A guy in the UK sells them heat shrunk together. So I'm going to see what two of them sound like. I'll read up a bit more on RMWeb regarding series or parallel wiring. Apparently if you get it wrong you can damage the chip. Cheers I'll let you know the outcome. Rod
Yes, what's the deal with the double iPhone speaker, does 4 ohms knacker the chip? And do you know why a double iPhone speaker is 4 ohms and a single is 8 ohms? Is it due to the way the double speakers are wired?
Congrats on reaching the 1.000 sub's ,I'm very much enjoying your channel ,I'm very much into the scenic side of the hobby was interesting watching what you did with the cloths and it looked very realistic for some rough terrain , its interesting with the different speakers ,I have a few loco's steam and diesel with tts in them with the Hornby speaker I will probably get round to changing them eventually but at the moment its not a priority for me to do that , would like to see some aspect's of lighting the layout what to use etc an how to , electrics not my strong point , Ray .
Electrics is definitely on the cards for future videos. I have a number of areas half setup with lighting but have yet to connect everything up. It's a combination of series and parallel circuits with mostly LEDs. There's even a homemade circuit for flashing pedestrian crossing beacons.
The iPhone speaker does sound a lot better fair play. But what are the issues with TTS decoders. I'm about to fit a Hornby TTS decoder into a Bachmann Class 37, so I am now feeling despair. I've clicked on your link, but Hornby are currently moving their site around and the forums are not available at present. What are the CV settings that have to be changed?
You might have to wait until Hornby have reinstated their forum, as I didn't make a note of what CVs I changed. However, I did find these setting posted by Road & Rails which look familiar. CV150 to 1, CV153 to 255 and CV154 to 1. Let me know how you do? Here's the link to the RR video... ruclips.net/video/0Wfwp7BgfAA/видео.html
@@StationRoadModelRailway Many thanks. My Hornby Select nor my Bachmann E-Z are both unable to read/adjust CV's, so will have to find someone to help me out. Thanks for your help. Rob.
I've bought the speakers locally here in NZ from a auction website similar to ebay called Trade Me. Here's a link to the trader, but I'm not sure if he sells internationally. However, I'm sure there's plenty of traders on ebay who sell iPhone speakers. www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=6345634
Hi, I am considering tts for my Bachmann class 37 and have the I phone speakers, but not used them as yet. As I am new to Dcc, if you could assist with the cv’s that would be great. Many Thanks

Hi Julian, do you know what iphone speakers they are, thanks Paul,
Great video! Thank you. Super. Helped me a lot👍🏻

Hi Rod. Hornbys TTS decoders take a 8ohm speaker. Double iPhone speakers are 4ohm
Peter
@@torridonroadbypeterdixon4162 I wont bother then don't want to fry the chip. Thanks. Rod
@@rodgrainger928 Reason being, .....Been there done it, pleased to say didn't damage the chip.

@@torridonroadbypeterdixon4162 Thanks for that. Did the two speakers sound better? Did you wire them in series or parallel?
Hi, great video. Just wondering would you have any tips/advice for fitting sound to an older Bachy 37 with the 8 pin socket.

hello mate what a difference that iPhone speaker made could tell me what size it is in mm i no 8 ohms.be most grateful.
The iPhone speakers I use are 50mm long, 18mm wide and 3mm high with 2mm step down at the speaker mouth.
Great video thank you, but I would have liked to see you actually install the IPhone speaker as it didn’t look as if it would fit in lengthwise.
Do you have the link for where / who you buy the speakers from, thanks

Fun stuff 👍
The iPhone speaker beats the rest, unfortunately, like most British rail models, woeful. Cheers
Sounds great
