This was enjoyable to watch and a lot of information for those wanting to adjust the tts sound. I have not ventured into tts as yet but will at some stage so I will put this video to good use. The replacement speaker has noticeably made a good difference. Thanks for filming sharing, Clint at Leila Central.

An interesting comparison and thanks for doing, totally agreed TTS represents excellent value for money, a tenner on a better speaker improves high and low end frequencies as I clearly heard, thanks. On the powered end surprised you mounted the speaker on the metal casting, it needs to cleanly drive the air front to back and not be restricted with these two air paths separated for a short distance. Can I suggest you swapping decoder and speaker positions. With the speaker in the plastic cradle with hole (s) drilled under speaker so air can freely be moved and get out - you have a ready made baffle being the cradle body. I hope you get a noticeable improvement as I have found in similar circumstances but using the Loksound 50326 (great performance in cramped spaces) to replace Hornby's speakers. Stephen

in my case the turbine sound makes it impossible to run as the high pitched sound reaches yards and people might think there's a fire alarm going on :))

Very interesting and informative, I’ve recently purchased a flying Scotsman with TTS sound fitted it’s great , is it possible to turn the volume down and if so how do I do it?? Ps I’m brand new to this hobby and love it.

Hi Ronald - thanks for your positive comment and glad that you like the video. The honest answer is that I’m sure you can but I’m not sure how - I’ve found forums on Hornby.com & RM Web really useful for answering questions like this and in my experience there’s rarely a shortage of people willing to offer help and advise. I hope you keep on enjoying the hobby - it’s certainly a lovely distraction from everything else that’s going on at the moment!
