Man. The most inspiring story ever. I got a tattoo, not for the name of the movie. the idea that somebody even at their lowest can pursue a happy life really moves me.

Very inspiring story. The American Dream happened for him - of course he MADE it happen. But that's part of the Dream too. Its the drive inherent in our soul. Not everyone ever summons that from the depths. And even some of those who do, don't succeed.

Sometimes movies change too much because from what I read about the real man, he endured a lot more than the movie shows. He even sold coke and did whatever he had to do to make ends meet during his climb to the top.

"We give you too much". DAMN! Amen and amen. I know people who've gifted their child a Porsche or other high end car for graduating H.S. What's next? Our society is stifled by youngsters with an entitled attitude and a fervent desire to be famous for doing absolutely NOTHING. Thanks Paris Hilton and Kardashian kids.

Imagine if everyone in the black community had this man's resilience and outlook on life, with all the help available to minorities nowadays...

Notice that race was not mentioned once in this interview.
If it were today, the whole interview would be focused on "Oh is so amazing how a black man made it big."
They focus just on the fact that this a story about a man rising about hardship. Morgan Freeman was right, ".... the only way to end racism is to stop talking about it...."
