He reacted to Elizabeth from The Charismatic Voice’s analysis of this song and then she did an interview with him. All three videos are super fun to watch I would highly recommend them to anyone who thinks they sound interesting.
@@KenLavigne He did an interview with "The Charismatic Voice" and if you got in contact with him he'd probably talk to you too ... his videos are combination reaction, musical instruction and just plain old "been there done that" commentary". Justin's truly an internet treasure.
Agreed - saw them three times, and he was totally on point every time, if not better. I loved them. A lot of people though they were a "novelty" band, but they were so, so wrong - some of those songs they did were right up there with the best of AC/DC. And I'm a huge AC/DC fan.
He just rules. He's funny and talented. He was on like half of the songs during the Taylor hawkins tribute show with the foo fighters and held up for the whole 6 hour show with multiple costume changes.
Justin said to Elizabeth of The Charismatic Voice that he literally screams when he is singing the super high notes - he thought falsetto was a different technique. He definitely goes from chest voice to head voice or falsetto or both easily. He picks everything up very well in his reactions too. He will review a song/performance and then he plays the chords/notes and sings at times. He def has perfect pitch.
the darkness are by far the best live act I've ever seen. (Justin delivers amazing vocal live) their live shows are such a vibe you can't help but leave the gig happy
The Darkness has so many other great songs as well! Justin Hawkins is a phenomenal singer. He also has a RUclips podcast, Just Hawkins Rides Again. Very funny and very educational .
My favorite part about that is that he sings into a sausage - the same sausage they used as a prop in their first "garage/indy" cut of the music video.
Justin is awesome. He’s hilarious 😊 He just interviewed Ren for his RUclips channel Justin Hawkins Rides Again. It’s not posted yet. He also was a pretty big part in the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert 😊
I so love The Darkness!! Some of the coolest songs are where JH uses that range creatively in songs like Barbarian, Motorheart, Hazel Eyes, Last of our Kind, Mighty Wings, right when you think he can’t change it up, he cranks it up to a whole other level. Really check out their backlist…even songs like Bald and Love is Only a Feeling and In another Life really stay with you.
I can absolutely recommend the Darkness' Christmas song 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)' if you need a Christmastime reaction. It's like he heard Freddie Mercury's 'Thank God It's Christmas' and went "Freddy, man, I love you, but what you really need to do is dial UP the melodrama and camp!" And his song is the result of that thought process. ☺
I think there’s a bit of Barbarella and B sci-fi movie look to this video. With a splash of Queen and Flash Gordon. Speaking of, the drummer’s name is Rufus Tiger Taylor. Son of Queen drummer Roger Taylor.
Justin Hawkins interviewed Ren on his channel 'Justin Hawkins Rides Again' last week. It's nearly 2 hours long and gives an interesting perspective on Ren's background and musical influences, among other things. Well worth a watch.
So, Justin reacted to The Charismatic Voice’s interpretation of this, and during the “GUI-TAH!” part, Justin pointed out that he was holding a sausage instead of a mic. I didn’t even notice that until he pointed it out. It turns out the darkness made a video for this song before this, and Justin used that same sausage as a mic in both videos.
I’d love to hear you react to Friday Night by them. It’s my favorite :) BTW, just saw their opening show on the 20th anniversary tour for PTL and yes, Justin still hits those notes live!
The lead guitarist for that big solo is Justin's brother. They are both accomplished players. They are a hoot. They do another song called, 'Knockers' that is just a hoot. It is about time marching on and relationships, I think. See what you get. Here is the link to a live version of' Knockers'. ruclips.net/video/PaR9lYsL4vI/видео.html The Darkness 'Knockers' this is live. Try it out.
Haha we did this song at my mates wedding 😅 I was drunk enough to give the high notes a go (they kinda did this revolving band jam thing it was so fun)
DUDE!!! you have to react to the song: Love is only a Feeling by The Darkness, It is a beautiful song, with an incredible video and it has a Feeling that will give you chills
The video was done in the style of British SciFi. The special effects were by the nephew of the man who invented K9 on Doctor Who. Just a bit of silliness
Hawkins is also a creator on RUclips.. I like his stuff. Don't be surprised if he stumbles across this Vid and has a cheeky poke.
That would make my day!

I enjoyed his review of Polyphia's knitwear choices.
Most importantly he can do it live.
The thing about Justin - he is consistently delivers album quality vocals live. I've seen them many times over the years and am always impressed.
Justin has a comment on his voice here: ruclips.net/video/bQvynFwXRdU/видео.html
Yes! Seen them twice! He is amazing live!
That is because Talent Matters.. He could sing this song on the crapper and sound good!

The Sweet- fox on the run ( 74) is the precursor to the Darkness 💯
Far far more than ACDC or Queen( all 3 started in early 70's)
He just rules. He's funny and talented. He was on like half of the songs during the Taylor hawkins tribute show with the foo fighters and held up for the whole 6 hour show with multiple costume changes.
The Bells End is a classic Xmas hit by the Darkness, God knows how they got away with it, very funny.
Justin is a vocal athlete!

An Australian pub banger that absolutely kills every drunks vocals and all the sober folks ear drums.
Hahaha, I haven't tried it in a pub yet, but I have better strength in my falsetto than regular voice so maybe I should attempt it at karaoke 😂
@ChrisBennett_Dwarfsoft do it!!!!
Saw them in concert a few months ago... awesome live performance! 3 bands on the bill and The Darkness stole the show!
The Darkness has so many other great songs as well! Justin Hawkins is a phenomenal singer. He also has a RUclips podcast, Just Hawkins Rides Again. Very funny and very educational .
Growing On Me by The Darkness is an instant classic!!! Vocals for days...............................
SUCH a jam
I love the “Guitar!” bit, it’s my favourite 💕
Oath!
My favorite part about that is that he sings into a sausage - the same sausage they used as a prop in their first "garage/indy" cut of the music video.
Justin just makes me happy.. has for years.
Justin's vocals - even his hair here - remind me a bit of Tiny Tim on the high notes.
That almost yodeling aspect.
Even if not for your channel, please do listen to a lot more darkness… they are a proper rock band. Still releasing music and touring now!
SOOOOO many awesome songs from this band, seriously! And their best ones aren't even popular...try Black Shuck or Get your hands off of my woman! :)
Why didn't I see this earlier? Love your channel and the darkness. Nice.
It got blocked for a few days I think. I clicked it a few minutes after it came out and was blocked by WMG.
Their Christmas song is really good :)
Justin is awesome. He’s hilarious 😊 He just interviewed Ren for his RUclips channel Justin Hawkins Rides Again. It’s not posted yet. He also was a pretty big part in the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert 😊
Don't forget there was the Rick Beato interview. That was really cool.
@@rog2224 Thank you 😊 I didn't know about that one.
Hugely influenced by 70's glam rockers "The Sweet" check "Fox on The Run" (74) you'll see exactly what I mean.
Dont let the "bells end"😈🤘👍
The Darkness were my first ever gig! I think I was 14, and it was at Wembley possibly? 21 years ago 😨😨

The video for Barbarian is brilliant, as well.

I love this song it's so different than anything else

Not here, though. That's Ed Graham.
Rufus was 11 when this song was released :P

Check out their more recent stuff, 'Heart Explodes' is a stunning song.
Agreed absolutely!!

Definitely recommend them live if you get the chance.
Just so darn good!! 🙂Amazing vocals and energy!
He has a great youtube channel. He has said he made this as spoof.
This dudes so cool it's sick
The lead singer is on here @JustinHawkinsRidesAgain he likes discussing music so may stumble across this reaction!
I’d love to hear you react to Friday Night by them. It’s my favorite :)

If you liked this song, you'll likely like the rest of this whole album! Nice review!

U explained it beautifully. My vocal coach helped me with similar comparisons. 👍🤘
I absolutely remember when this came out. Very weird, but I liked the sound since then.
Best voice in rock since Freddie.
Heard Justin sing a Queen song. He is the closest we have to Freddie Mercury these days.
Except Marc Martel but I hear what you hear 😁
This is how I’ve always pictured what Russell brand would be if he was in music.
DUDE!!! you have to react to the song:
Love is only a Feeling by The Darkness, It is a beautiful song, with an incredible video and it has a Feeling that will give you chills
Agree!!! An awesome song, and love this video!
Agreed!! My favorite Darkness song and video
The Darkness - I Believe in a Thing Called Love Live in Sydney 16.10.2022
The video was done in the style of British SciFi. The special effects were by the nephew of the man who invented K9 on Doctor Who. Just a bit of silliness
If AC/DC and Queen had a baby
Far more influenced by 70's glam rockers "The Sweet" check "Fox on The Run" (74) you'll see exactly what I mean.
It would be Justin Hawkins!
Justin always reminds me to Cid from Ice Age
Everybody does this 20 year old song, they've had 7 albums since! Review Open Fire!
I believe in a thing called Darkness...and I believe in a thing called Ken.
“OK, visuals aside” I like that
Do Vitas next, Ken. He's a russian singer that has crazy high vocals and whistle tones.
JUSTIN HAWKINS has a very good youtube channel where he comments/reacts to other songs and artists-funny as hell
Please check out Rock and Roll Deserves to Die from The Darkness.
Yes! Great video 😁
Aliens??? This is rather a homage to the movie Barbarella from 1968. 😄
Justin also covered Boston's More than a Feeling, you should check it out.
Strongly 80s vibe
justin is a awesome singer
Justin Hawkins' RUclips channel is EXCEPTIONAL.
Video was more of a homage to the 1968 Sci-Fi sexploitation movie 'Barbarella" with a sexy Jane Fonda than 'Alien' with scary monsters.
justins twin in front of the marshall stacks
Justin’s brother Dan
This man is a more handsome high grant
I am not going to watch anymore of your reactions. I found this very boring,
And it reminded you of the comments you leave…
