@@afroponix3414 I never said he wasn’t acting before that. I’ve seen him in past things before as well like 1998’s Around The Fire. My point was that his commitment to Fear is probably the reason why he wasn’t getting many roles while in the show until it ended he started showing up in everything.

I spent just over 3 years in prison, almost 10 years ago. I didn’t do theater in there, but I and my fellow inmates were allowed to perform real, live music behind those brick walls and barbed wire. Those are the days when I would feel most free. I still have the notebooks filled with the words I wanted to sing, or scream maybe, through those bars and up and over those walls.
You’re supposed to be tough in prison, you know? No crying allowed. Yet I know when I watch this film I will probably cry like a baby, watching these men fight through the idle time and isolation of incarceration and yet somehow finding a way to escape it all; and in doing so remember that there’s still a soft and gentle soul alive inside each of us that just wants to play with the person that is suffering, standing right next to us. I damn near cried from the trailer alone. Can’t wait to see it. A24 doesn’t disappoint.
When we finally have oppertunities to express our authentic selves, we really begin to discover the good that's hiding in all of us. It really is unforutante far to many are getting that oppertunity behind bars. Encouraging people to find oppertunities to express themselves could change a lifes course.

A 24 has gained quite the positive reputation for quality, in a very short period of time. With all of the big movie makers controlled by corporations right now, it's good that we have a production company that still makes art.
Don't ever sell out, A24. We still need cinema, and you provide it to us.
During the SAG-AFTR writers strike, A24 was one of the only production companies willing to pay their writers, editors, actors and all general employees Above-Minimum-Wage so during that time, while all the big companies were dealing with strikes, A24 was busy making movies. Don't be surprised if we get a whole bunch of quality movies coming out of them throughout the next 6 months or more. We already got The Iron Claw which is a remarkable film in and of itself
I wish these big companies would realize that people are flocking to A24 because it’s not the same cookie cutter story in a different package or remake of a 20 year old movie. But then again, if they don’t at least we have A24.

I was in a program just like this one while I was locked up. It was the one thing that got me through my time. We as the ensemble still chat to this day. We came together as a family and remain a family. I am soooo happy someone decided to make a movie about this. Long live Shakespeare and long live all the SIP programs

@@eddiedutra3359 Everything Everywhere All At Once, Hereditary, maybe Midsommar. Beau Is Afraid had a few moments that were a little hard to keep it together to. Funnily the movie Flashback (not A24) is also a very emotional movie & I feel like EEAAO kinda stole the concept & style from that movie, they’re practically the same movie but just a little different, both 2 masterpieces imo though.

The clips from the clemency hearing show how good the acting is. When is talking at 0:40 it could be a real interview, just natural acting. And then the sudden disappointment / fear on hearing the question “so are you acting now” Just magnificent acting

My opinion based of the trailer: Give this film and everyone in it all the Oscar’s.
The stories from Sing Sing Prison have always captivated me, and I am beyond excited for this movie. It’s been my dream to write a film about the production of the 1972 Thanksgiving show-something about prison and the blues pulls on the heart. This trailer promises the same exploration of humanity, the impossibility of it all and that fleeting feeling of triumph.

A24 does it again. Normally these movie are released and I wouldn't bat an eye at but A24 has gotten me to watch every master class they are a part of.
I teach theatrical improvisation in California State prisons and I can't wait to see this film. There is nothing better than to bring humanity back to those that are incarcerated.

RTA (Rehabilitation Through the Arts) at Sing Sing is truly an amazing story and I'm so glad it's being told in such a beautiful way.
That scene where after he explains the acting program during his clemency review and she turns it around on him, his facial expression might be worth watching the whole movie just on that.

Wow this gave me chills. THIS is what movies are supposed to be like! A profound, emotional and moving story displaying the epitome and the depths of HUMANITY! This will win an Academy Award for Best Picture and actors hands down! I have never anticipated a movie so much, I cannot wait to see this in theaters. A24 never disappoints!

They do, well kind of lol if you get paramount, showtime carries their entire catalog.

It's on showtime. Or paramount + has a section A24 movies
Amazon Prime has some of them, but others are with the company that helped make them, like Apple, Showtime, HBO. Hope that helps!
Colman Domingo is really taking Jonathan Major’s place as the Hollywood IT star , like you see him in a film you know it’s going to be good.

Colman Domingo has become one of my favorite actor ever since Euphoria this man has been given some major good roles. Definitely adding this of my list for the movies I want to see this year loved me some good A24.

Coleman Domingo feels like an actor that was held back from opportunity for a bit too long. We were missing out on his talent for far too long. It's wonderful seeing him thrive now. He seems to have so much to give to us as an audience. I'm so excited for this project and whatever else he wants to put his energy into.

Colman Domingo is such a force of an actor. I think maybe the earlier seasons of Fear the Walking Dead gave him much more exposure than he’d had before, the minute I started hearing his first monologue in that cell I was so intrigued from the get-go. He and the actor who played Nick I think were easily the best actors for me in that show, would love to see them work together again with how amazingly well Colman Domingo is doing and Frank Dillane is back acting again. Their acting chemistry was so good in that and that OG crew loved each other it was so sweet. It’s so good to see Colman Domingo

Saw it tonight at the Miami Film Festival. This is a marvelous and beautiful movie. It will be in theaters 7/12/24. Don’t miss it!
