Ya know you can just spin the center to adjust the tie rod in or out right? You should probably also mention that when installing the ends, both ends should be turned in the same amount so that there's not more threads on one side than the other. The best way to do that is to spin both sides in all the way and then keep them immobile when spinning the center.
Hey man so i hit a big rock with my right wheel and the tie rod was barely bent i took it to fix it but they didn't completely fix it now when i let go of the gas it turns to the right by it self and the front tires get really worn out, could replacing the tie rod fix the problem ?
I've got a problem with my two mini quads, maybe you can help. How tight should the ball joint screws be ? If I tighten em fully the quads feel like they wish to overturn when turning. I accept there surely has to be movement otherwise the damping and suspension movement won't operate correctly. Any help be appreciated.
Hey man. I hope ur still active. Ive got a 220 baypu and im trying to replace the knuckle w the ball joints and its spinning the top nut an i cant get it off. Help.
somebody please help I am trying to do this on my Suzuki LTZ 400 do the tie rod ends go specific way like the inner and the outer do just the ends themself go on certain side or they both the same
If the stem of the tie rod is spinning while trying to tighten the castle nut, tap the stem down into the knuckle and hold pressure on it. The stem is tapered so if it's held down into the hole (in the knuckle) it won't spin.
Detailed information, good sound, clear video. Great Job.
First why do they call that a castle nut? Second who was videoing? Dude did a legit job!
You can’t see why it’s called a castle nut? It looks like the top of a castle wall in medieval times.
Very helpful video, thanks!
Good video man thanks mine isn’t bent but they have some play in the tie ride ends just gonna replace them with something better like this

Thanks for the informative video. Just had a kid hit me while he was in a ranger and bent my rod. This video helps a lot.
On a four wheel drive they should be toe out, only toe in for 2wd

How did the tie rods and ball joints hold up
The American Star rod ends didn't last. We'd recommend the OEM ends but the rods lasted great.
Do you grease them up? Most forget to grease it up to give it a longer life.
Yes, you should always grease the threads prior to installing the ends so they won't seaze up and make it hard to adjust later.

Thanks man !
No problem glad it helped.
How did you stop the tie rod from spinning to be able to do the castle nut up??? You didn't show that. It has to be clamped in.
True! I ended up using a beefier (spelling?) cotter pin and bent it up to help prevent the nut from spinning! Thanks for reaching out!
TimeToRide thanks for reply, struggled to get tie rods so made my own.
