This man was doing what any GREAT GRANDFATHER should be doing. Mentoring, spending time and showing love to his grandsons. This is so UNFAIR. What I'm thinking about is the terror they must've faced throughout this situation. What they saw before their life ended. This truly breaks my heart. This man and these babies definitely did not deserve this!!

Yeah. I think the Law Enforcement dropped the ball on this one. He escaped for WEEKS (3-4 weeks) and he was literally chilling out only a mile away from where he escaped the bus. IF anything, the police department should have alert the county and have an evacuation or something. I don't know...make a CRAZY TORNADO SIREN that there is a MURDERER ON THE RUN. 5 people dead and they go, "Time to tighten the search"...Then found out he murdered 5 people a mile away. Yeah, great job. This could have been prevented if people take MURDERERS more serious.
Town is too small for police. They only had the Texas Dept of Public Safety, who dropped the ball big time.

if I lived in that county I would be watching what was going on!! Yes law enforcement told them to check with them before they go to their vacation homes.... !!! Regardless he hadn't been caught. I would be shaking if I lived out there.
What a shame. How does a convict being transported in a bus that’s supposed to be very secure for inmate transportation and are usually chained up and secure get loose?????? Something just does not add up. Now a grandfather and his 4 grandsons have paid the price. Someone is at fault someone needs to be held accountable.

so he had broke in the house before they got there trying to have a vacation And I’m sure the guns were up, safe ,locked 🔒 but he had 3 to 4 weeks In that cabin before they got there for vacation & I’m sure the grandfather was caught off guard and he killed everyone . This is a complete failure on law enforcement, he was on the run for A MONTH.
He was hiding in a legally owned vacation home they never would have found him, sad thing is the owner didn't have a ring alarm system or camera system to know that he broke in and they showed up on vacation unaware at the home. Always install a camera system on vacation homes because if homeless, criminals, etc try to break in u need to know if its a 2nd home.
What's wrong with LE in Texas. Are they all confused on how to do their jobs? What's wrong with them?

The man's history of extreme violence and disregard for human life should have disqualified him from leaving the prison for medical care. Clearly a tremendous risk to do so, the community should not be exposed to this kind of danger. A danger they aren't even aware of, let alone condone. Living ones life like a wild animal must have consequences.
The fact that the inmate was able to escape from police custody blows my mind. 5 innocent lives taken by an evil wicked individual that should have never had the opportunity to commit such an evil crime. I feel for the family of the victims, I can't even imagine the pain and heartache that they are dealing with. May the victims rest in peace 🙏🏿

In many countries its not a crime just to escape from jail and you get no additional time for doing so as it's considered human nature to try to escape from being held against your will... however in those places is you committed other crimes like assault, murdered, robbery those you can be charged for and get extra time in prison. Ironically this way of doing things has led to the faster recovery of escaped individuals in most cases and it is extremely rare for a escaped person to commit any crimes of violence when they are on the run. The reason being it is not particularly worth it to hurt anyone in a attempt to stay free as they will just go back to prison to finish their sentence in most cases if they don't hurt anyone... our harsh "justice" system often does far more damage then any good and we seem to be a habitual failure in the realm of justice ⚖️

It's 2022, how could he escape? I read there were 2 guards, 1 driving and 1 in the back part that supposedly jumped out the back when they crashed. If the back guard was supposed to be watching then he would have noticed this POS before he made his way up to stab the driver. People these days aren't like they used to be IMO. They don't seem to put in the efforts or understand the repercussions of not fulfilling their duties. This inmate was a convicted murderer and the others were probably too, all of them had the potential to be dangerous during transport. The guard should have been paying better attention and communicating with the driver at all times SMH. Because of this probable negligence an innocent family who was just spending time together suffered. Accountability is demanded! Zero excuses will be accepted for a tragedy that was preventable.

If we wanna talk about odds the odds against this are far more unlikely compared to the amount of stupid people who use their phones while driving. There was a report that a man who looked like him was seen going into the woods and law enforcement said that it was a false sighting even though they never made contact with that man.

It means to put some of the budget on mental health training and mental health workers so they don’t keep “accidentally” shooting and killing people having medical episodes like the elderly man with dementia or the older woman who was obviously memory impaired and had her wrist broken from the handcuffs.

Children and when my 5th son was born 3 months of being home and he started having seizures back to back and then he stopped breathing so I started cpr in the car on the way to the emergency room , making a long story short he was allergic to a antibiotic that they Gave my son the day before because he was sick so they life flighted him to a hospital 2 hours there so I had to drive all the way to the hospital and all I could do is pray 🙏🏽 when I got there the doctors told me
He couldn’t breathe on his own so they put him on a breathing machine . 3 months went by and he was still on The machine, then the doctor comes to us and say it would be best to take your som off the machine and let him pass away .they said if he live he will be like a vegetable.
I said no . When god is ready for my son ,he will take him from this place . but until then we will continue praying and praising the lord and asking the lord to protect my family always ….
And today ? I can say that my son is alive and walking and talking after surgeries after surgeries. Camden has autism and epilepsy but he is still alive and wonderful

My biggest argument in favor of capital punishment is that someone convicted of murder might escape and an innocent person might be executed.

If you have a vacation home its a good idea to have some type of camera system so u can be notified if a homeless or in that case criminal breaks in and u aren't there.... that way u dont walk into a bad situation thats what happened here it sounds like.

Rest In Peace to the kids and granddad. The part that gets me is how they let an inmate escape in the first place? With all the effort our government puts into arresting and changing the lives of people, especially non dangerous and even innocent people, you think they would put an equal amount of effort into keeping the evil ones locked up!

That's how I feel and been thinking the same thing but I'm afraid to say that we're in the last days... I'm at the point where I literally stopped trying to meet people and don't talk to anyone and just stay at my home after I get off work.. and I've been like this for like a year and a half now and all of these new stories keep me very humble and alert.. but I just stopped doing things.. at least for now I'm content with just watching Netflix and being by myself as I work on myself.. prayers to everyone!🙏
