- Friends of Carson, Hudson and Waylon Collins gathered on their school’s baseball field in Tomball, Texas, to grapple with the devastating loss of the three brothers. The Collins brothers were celebrating the start of summer with their cousin Bryson and grandfather Mark at the family ranch. All five family members were murdered by a convicted killer named Gonzalo Lopez, who had escaped from a prison bus.
You would never think this was even possible if you were those kids just hanging out with your grandad.
My heart is broken for the parents. No one deserves this.

@@jt.633 That's why I got my plate-carrier and train guns in the VR world every week. It saves money, and it isn't exactly like the real thing, but it's not a huge transition to real guns. You definitely work on aim, and your knowledge of different types of guns and how to reload them increases. Plus, it'll make you less gun shy.

I went to school with the boy standing behind the two youngest ones. I did not know him very well as I was a year older, but I did interface with him quite a bit over the course of my time in high school and became a firmilar face. He was always kind to me and came across as a very affable person. I was greatly disturbed to hear about what happen to him and his family. I cannot possibly fathom the anguish that his parents must be experiencing at this time. It's sickens me.

How the officer's handled this situation was poor and it's sad that this all could've been avoided had they brought more officer's when transporting a HIGH RISK INMATE to begin with who tried to do this once before. As someone who lives not far from where this all took place, it really hits to close to home

While prisons do have a medical ward with very little doctors any doctor there can send them to a hospital to seek more medical attention or to see a specialized doctor, and since correction officers can’t deny medical attention they’ll still have to transport him regardless if he’s lying about needing emergency care

Those poor parents. Dealing with the grief of even one family member, of natural causes even, is devastating. But to deal with the loss of multiple children AND your father in such a senseless tragic way? I can’t believe some people could be so evil.

I live a fairly small town, and when a convict managed to escape and was running loose there was police cars and helicopters using megaphones and speakers alerting everyone in my neighborhood that there was a convict running around, lock your doors, and do not engage.
This happened only a year ago I can't even understand how they didn't do this.
They said the driver got stabbed
There's a woman in a thread or two Above This who said she lives right near there and that yes the police were all over the place and warning people the whole time

Probably was a short routine drive between the prison/where he was under prison supervision and the prison medical centre

There were two armed guards. One of them he wrestled out of the bus stabbed multiple times and attempted to take his gun from him. and the other one fired shots at him but the prisoner managed to jump back on the bus and drove down the street before crashing the bus into a ditch.
When transporting dangerous offenders, they should have additional armed guards or police in a car following the bus to prevent these type of escapes.
So now y’all want guns? Lol
This is really tragic and it’s sad that he was able to do such unspeakable things before the law caught up to him.

Right like someone even recorded him running into the woods.. at the moment, why not alert the whole permiter about it especially those who live in the middle of the woods.. obviously a escapee is going to run into a home that's around. Bad law enforcement in Texas..

This is horrifying and so sad. Reminds me of when I was around 10, my mom starting bringing this man around (her damn drug dealer) and we got close to him. We called him our uncle. Well long story short, he shot a man in the head and went to prison for murder. 3 years in, he escaped. Which was extremely scary for us, because before he went in, my mother and him had a falling-out and he threatened that he was going to kill all of us. I'm thankful to this day though that he was caught three days later and wasn't able to kill anyone else.

From not being able to properly secure a high security prisoner during transportation.
To not searching the area well. To not warning the residents of the real dangers.
I feel like the cops thinking it had been 3 weeks since the escape probably believed the prisoner was long gone, and didn’t continue searching the area for him

The law is too soft with the evil ones. There is a phrase that says: If you have mercy with the evil ones, you won't have mercy for the good people. This is unacceptable.
