Got this bad boy on the way already and just hyping myself up looking at footage. I see you are also in the Phoenix area! Awesome review and thanks for the video samples... Anyone can read up on the specs, but being able to see it in action for different purposes really helps out! Keep up the great work, subbed!
I am honestly blown away by the quality of the part filmed with the a6500 and the sigma lens. just wow! I do have a question: what pp profile did you use on the Sony part? Any LUT used in post too? Thanks in advance
Andrea L I just used the standard profile (all set to zero). No Lut was used, but I do apply a bit of a blue tint (because the a6500 with the lens are a bit on the warmer side) .. and just a little increase in saturation in post.
wow very nice review mate,,i like your video very imformative especially at the end of the video,,use external mic,,,,boom, im new in your channel give you my support, i hit the red button for you mate,,ive got a6500 too cheers,,
Hedition you have a bit of a point. I find my self using it more often at about f2 - f2.8. You definitely need an ND filter to use it wide open in daylight. I think the hype is focused around the vlogging lens aspect .. nice depth of field on an aps-c size sensor. Good quality for the price.
No doubt this lens has many great points. Great build, great image quality, fast AF and awesome price point. It is just an awkward combination for me. Too fast for landscape, too wide for portraits and too heavy for gimbal. I will probably still buy this though if no better alternatives for 16mm comes out. But if anyone has money to buy just one lens, I can't recommend this as 35mm 1.8 seem much more practical. But hey this is just my opinion and many people probably gonna disagree.
I just got this set up too, looking forward to using it
Was the B Roll filmed with Auto Focus ? Thank you for the video
S Brito Yes it was.
@@genxtechguy Thank you
I have this great lens for my A6500 and love it. Thanks for your review.
"The lens weighs about 14 grams" ???
Nice transitions!
Nice presentation, Now i will buy the lens
Seems you are creative :-). Good job and keep it up! And if you could include in each shot the settings it would be awesome)).
V Raykov Thank you! That is good feedback. I will implement that next time. I do find that helpful when I watch other lens/camera videos.

by standard profile you mean PP off?
Yes, I guess I shouldn't have referred to it as a profile. PP is off and I used the Standard Creative Style.
That was really good. Subbed.
Thanks for the vid, nice
Very nice presentation style in this review. Thank you. Subscribed!
Dig your style. Subbed!
Sigma 16mm 1.4 Or Sigma 30mm 1.4 for Photography and some video? P.s I own a a6500 :D
30mm is just a more versatile lens not to mention 100 bucks cheaper, I think where the Sigma really shines is probably vlogging
What effects did you use for this video?
It's really a mix of different titles and effects from LenoFx, Pixel Film Studios, motionVFX ... and some homegrown stuff.

i also thought the same thing!!!
Pill
Phil Dunphy or FEEL as Sophia Vergara would pronounce it .
Am I the only one who think this lens is a little overrated? It is sharp and fast, but I really don't see many situations I need f1.4 at 16mm....
