I should have come here first before spending lots of money on other people's designs on Etsy! I can totally make my own now after watching your great video, thanks for sharing :)
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I'm new to Cricut and not only managed to do my first own shadowbox, but also learned so much about Design Space. Thank you 😊
Great tutorial! I have the explore air 2, but I can adjust as needed. Thinking of making a shadow box with a family tree in for my sister in law who is expecting a new baby very soon. This was very helpful
Thank you Corinne for that tutorial. Well explain now I think I am ready to start looking for a pattern to design and try to do as you showed us How. Thanks again!
Just popping in to say that thanks to your super easy tutorial I managed to make my very first box and I'm soooooo happy with it!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
This is a great tutorial! I created my own images in design space using your technique! Super helpful! But for some reason I am getting a caution sign “⚠️” saying that my borders are too large and can not be bigger than 6.8 I originally sized them 10x10 as you mentioned in your video. Any advice on how to correct this?
Hola! hay alguna manera de exportar el diseño sin tener la maquina de cricut? porque a la hora de exportar me pide que la conecte y no tengo otras formas de exportar, gracias
Yes you don't need a machine to export the file itself. But if you want to cut the file you have to have a cricut. to export the file I would recommend this video to help guide you ruclips.net/video/Rc_TUXf8HB4/видео.htmlsi=Px-d4vL7m2w2utr1 You will need to make sure your layers are not overlapping anywhere because each will need to be exported individually. So I would hide all about one layer at a time and export each page as its own PNG. I hope this helps!
I have a question I have a design that I purchased and trying to put it together and I'm not sure how since they are not full pages do you still use the full spacers? Loved your tutorial thank you for sharing and I am so glad I ran across your page
@@lifewithtashabae4846 you would need to make sure you are isolating the items you want from the image when you upload by removing backgrounds and such
@@CorinneBlackstone like where you see a different light color at the top then another color at the bottom how is that done? Do you have to have 2 color strips?
You’ll want to measure the actual inside of your shadow box. While they say 8x8 they may be slightly smaller inside. Make it only about .1 inch smaller than the inside of the frame
i can't seem to be able to click the item i want as well as the frame and weld them. when i click on the pic, it highlights, then i click frame, it only highlights frame. What am i doing wrong. I have watched your video over and over.
This is not working for me at all. I have the explore air 2. I chose 2 graphics to work with, I can't weld them and slice. It does not cut out the design. I'm so fustrated.
It’s likely because you are selecting too many layers. Make sure nothing is grouped and you are only selecting two lines on the layers panel. Also be sure everything is set to basic cut

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been purchasing files but knew there must be a way to make my own. Your instructions were very easy to follow.
Great tutorial!!!
Is this possible to do with a silhouette? And if so is it the same/similar steps? 😊
Yes silhouette can do this. As for the steps I don’t know.
@@CorinneBlackstoneThank you 😊
Excellent video - watching this I am confident I can create my own. I have subscribed and liked your video. Thank you!

You have them set to print then cut. Change them to basic cut

This is such a good tutorial! Thank you! Hopefully my shadow box comes out good!😊
Is the process the same of I wanted to add a silhouette of a person ?
Yep!
@CorinneBlackstone OK Thanks....so I just upload a regular picture or do I need to something special it before it can become a shawdow box ?

Made this look incredibly easy. I think its the verbiage some designers use that completely confuse me.
Your amazing love this is amazing like everything you do. X
Thank you so much!
Corinne Blackstone your very welcome it’s nice to show us how to do it x
Great video! How do I have 2 different colors . Like one color on top and another on the bottom ?
I'm not sure I am fully understanding your question.
@@CorinneBlackstone like where you see a different light color at the top then another color at the bottom how is that done? Do you have to have 2 color strips?
@@maemae1285 yes two different color strips would be needed to achieve that look
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you im looking forward to watching all your videos
My shadow box is 8x10, how do I size it?
You measure the inside of your box and make your rectangle to that size then place your designs like I show in the video
If I have an 8x8 shadow box, would I use a 8x8 size frame or should I make an inch smaller?
You’ll want to measure the actual inside of your shadow box. While they say 8x8 they may be slightly smaller inside. Make it only about .1 inch smaller than the inside of the frame
@@CorinneBlackstone and an inch smaller for each consecutive frame?
@@whitney24100 no. All pages need to be the same size. Also not a full inch just a tenth of an inch

I love your tutorials. Where do you get your silhouettes from?
Everything used here is just from google

Hi! Thank you! Yes you can find the assembly video here. ruclips.net/video/dB5LjrZLf8A/видео.html

make sure you are holding ctrl on your keyboard and try using the layers panel to select the items
I can’t find the image of bricks.
This is awesome can you use color cardstock or just white?
You can use colored but I recommend light colors so the lights can shine throigh
@@CorinneBlackstone ok thank you
Now with offset feature , the process will be easier I assume
The offset feature has nothing to do with this technique.
@@CorinneBlackstone sorry
@@saygoodgood4873 no worries! It’s just not a skill used here.
Wouldn't it be easier to place the front frame into place and leave it there, just clicking the eye on and off as you need it?
If thats easier for you then by all means you can do that.
Where is the assembly video?
linked in the description of the video. but here is the link
ruclips.net/video/dB5LjrZLf8A/видео.html
You said you were going to give the link for the shadow boxes but I didn't see it.
Sadly the store that sold this box no longer exists :(
When I click weld. everything disappear. What I am doing wrong?
Could be a glitch with design space
