    Hi Truck Driver Guy. I have been watching your videos about filling out truck logs, because I am new to this industry. I was calculating the number of hours in each area and they equal 23.75 hours. You are showing drive time 11 hours. It should be 11.25 hrs in your example, which shows you over time. Just a mood point to keep things honest. I thank you for the video information. I drive for a company called EVCO here in Kansas. See you on the road.

    • @BIODIESEL1962
      @BIODIESEL1962 9 лет назад +2

      He's wrong. In the sleeper you can break it up. 4 and 6, I mean it has to equal 10 in 24. A minimum of 4 hours in the bunk is required by the DOT. He's also showing 680 miles, smart to show 616 MPH That averages you at 56 MPH. You tell a COP/Scalehouse DOT, you were running 85 in Utah, plan on a $250.00 fine for every 15 minutes that you were in Utah.Keep the sunny side up, the rubber side down. This is The Flying Mustache, wishing you a safe trip,it's not the getting the load,It's the getting home to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

    • @tolydel8462
      @tolydel8462 7 лет назад +8

      There needs to be a 30 min break after 8 hrs of work. Work includes on duty and driving. If u count pti+ driving he has 8.25. And if u count all the driving on that page it's more than the allotted 11 hrs
      So he's in violation.

      I have been driving for 6 years and no log book violations... Reason is I talked to many dot inspectors including a few I personally know, in the last 6 years, show them and get their take on the logs and ask them what is legal and what is not

  • @joshchavers7391
    @joshchavers7391 4 года назад

    Have the laws changed? When I drove it was 11hr driving within 14hr. 10hr sleeper birth or off duty for a reset. 70hr in 8 days. 36hr restart of 70hr that could be accomplished in 24hr or slightly less if driving team called a rolling restart. And to be technical I only had to show one 15 min flag at beginning of my 14hr shift window to show the pretrip inspection. What is this before 8hr driving must take a break stuff. Is that new dot stuff or maybe his company policy?

  • @Chesha266
    @Chesha266 7 лет назад +15

    you have 2 violation 1-st driving more than 11 hours, 2-nd working more than 8 hours!!!

  • @MyLord100571
    @MyLord100571 8 лет назад +10

    Sleeper berth only has to be 8 hours consecutive, the other 2 hours can be off duty either before or after the 8 hours in sleeper berth. Also if you are in sleeper berth you are allowed to sit in the passenger seat of vehicle during that time. But not the drivers seat.

    • @rss245x
      @rss245x 8 лет назад

      What if you only sleep 6hrs and that is your typical sleep time?

    • @MyLord100571
      @MyLord100571 8 лет назад +1

      Then you only sleep 6 hrs. You have to be off duty or in sleeper berth or a combination of the 2 for at least 10 hrs. Doesn't mean you have to sleep for 10 hrs.

    • @MyLord100571
      @MyLord100571 8 лет назад +2

      Doesn't mean you have to be in sleeper berth status for 10 hrs. However that being said. If you put yourself in Off duty for 10 hrs and you are away from your home yard. You might be ready to show a hotel receipt. If you didn't stay in your sleeper berth for any amount of time.

    there's an empty box there for the total miles driving today box....do u not have to put anything in that box?

  • @goodisnipr

    Things I noticed:
    1. The line graph shows
    Driving from
    10:45am to 6:45pm = 8 hours
    Then it shows driving from
    7:30pm to 10:45pm = 3.25 hours.
    Total driving time = 11.25 hours.
    2. Google maps shows Sacramento to Evanston is over 740 miles.
    3. But just for sake of departing on East side and arriving West side for actual 680 miles....
    680 miles / 11.25 hours = 60.444 mph average speed

    It's also missing 15 minutes off your total hours...also it's not good to be in sleeper berth for 10 straight hours...it's not illegal but d.o.t won't buy it..but the law says u can do 11hrs in sleeper and/or off duty just as long as u do at least 8 consecutive hrs in sleeper...the other 2 can be off duty

    • @rss245x

      I saw 10:30AM -10:45--AM PRETRIP AND --10:45- 6:45PM driving time 8hrs - He said 11 hrs was the max why are breaks a problem? I thought the whole point of the regulations were to insure proper rest. even a 15min break could be a quick alarm based nap or even while someone refuels for you at the pump. It is not realistic that a driver sleeps 8hrs if their body only sleeps 6 hours so I imagine just staying in the cab to sleep 10 hrs is good enough for sleep time rule even if you actually sleep 6hrs
