These photos look larger than life, it’s extremely rare that a photo makes me feel something, but many of your photos made me emotional. I’m so excited for my Pentax 67 to finally come in the mail in a few days!
Nice dude, love to see more street stuff from you you deffo got a great eye. I'm thinking of selling up my wetplate camera and gear to grab a 6x7. Keep the videos coming!!
Great video! Can’t wait to see more! I’m interested in knowing what you’ll do different next time for getting those POV shots. I’m want to get out and shoot street photography just feeling intimidated still.
Thank you!!! I’ll definitely be whipping out the go pro for the next POV video! It’s definitely scary at first but it’s just like anything else. The more you do it the more comfortable you’ll get!
Thank you!!! Daytime is a Whole different animal but for shooting at night (which is what I shot mostly in) the lighting doesn’t change a whole lot (especially in the subways). So I just always had my light meter app open on my phone and just every once in a while would grab a reading a just to make sure something drastic didn’t change. I shot all of these with the 90mm 2.8 so I was usually always at 2.8 at 1/125! Hope that helps!
@@Braxtonwallis thank you Braxton for your answer! So precious! Love the night photos but actually I was more impressed by the daytime shoots at the end! Really, it's rare seen street photos like this! Simply perfect and super sharp! I was wondering about how did you meter that! Do you have any advise? I would love to try it one day! :)
@@GiudiziUnniversali For those I had my light meter out and would meter every situation every once in a while. So say it was mid day. I would meter the direct sunlight areas, the shadow areas, and kind of the mid tone areas and then use those setting as reference points for whenever I was shooting. So whatever situation I was shooting in, I knew the general settings I needed to be shooting!
Never used my Pentax 67 for "street" photography. I have no issue with the size or weight of the camera. For ME, it's that the viewfinder is so dim and the subject never REALLY snaps into focus. I know that, back in the day, Beattie and Maxwell made brighter focusing screens for some medium format film cameras, including the Pentax. Have not seen any for sale lately, but in an old forum from like 15 years ago, they were going for about $300..............15 years ago. Pentax 67 II is not really an answer either, because at around $2,500 for a (25 year old) body (that virtually no one in the U.S. can repair........and no spare parts, without cannibalizing an existing body), it's a VERY expensive gamble.
Why are people still shooting NYC? A city that is overdone many times over and better by past photographers. Put your efforts into small cities. There is plenty going on in places like that and no tourists. Bring us something new. NYC is boring now and so are all the big cities.
Well this is a street photography video and with New York having the highest population density in the country you tend to get the most interesting images. But don’t worry I’m working on some projects in my home state of MS so there will be some “small city” content for you as well :) Have a lovely day \
I own nearly the whole Pentax 67 system - bodies, lenses and accessories. If I don't have something, that's because I don't want it. I've been using it as my primary camera for more than 35 years. There are few cameras which scream "look at me" more that a Pentax 67. Street photography - you have to be joking, until you try to carry it around all day.; Then you'll just be pissed at your stupidity. Now, if you want to do "street" with MF, get a Fuji GA645 or GA645Zi.
well first off congrats on being able to own all of that gear. Second I do explicitly say in the video that this was strictly for fun and experimentation. Not for professional use. so in case you didn't get to watch you can go to 1:13 and see where i say just that. Did your mom hug you as a child? If not I will! Have a great day!
I carry my 6x7 everyday. Even if I don’t shoot something. It goes with me to work. To get groceries. Whatever. I keep a lens on the camera and a 2nd lens in the bag. I’ve walked around a city all day, up a mountain… it’s not that heavy. I’m not a beefcake, the opposite in fact. Convince isn’t even a question. If it was there’s no point in shooting film just get a digital camera.
@@Braxtonwallis Oh, I did get the point the first time. However, it seems that doing a video where the first half is spent declaring all of the ways a camera is totally unsuitable for a purpose, then the second half overtly demonstrating that point, is just a just an exercise in nothing, driven by a click bait title.

Love the sarcasm! Keep up that good work. 👊🏻
Appreciate it!
My favorite street camera is my Rolleiflex 2.8D. 6x6 is truly a perfect format
Such a sick camera😮💨
the algorithm thought it could get away with a quick one. not today, satan.
😮💨😮💨😮💨
very nice photo 👍 Did you shoot it hand-held ?
What is the shutter speed ?
Great photos!
Loved this brother!
Preciate you ❤️
I shot a 67 once for one roll on the street. I felt like I was firing a bazooka compared to my Rolleiflex.
I like the video(s).

Great video and new subscriber here! How did you meter in these fast conditions? Can't wait to see more Pentax 6x7 videos of yours! :)

Loved the photos!! What film stock is this if I may ask?
This was majority Cinestill 800t with a few porta 800, and the B&W’s was Ilford XP2!
This combination is not really handy. What about the weight?
Its pretty heavy but then again if you're concerned about weight then you probably shouldn't own a Pentax 67 :)
@@Braxtonwallis it is like a stone or brick. Attention 😃: Do not use before building up your muscle mass. 👍 Not my device.
hahahaha
now for your next video… shooting large format in NYC
Actaully coming soon 👀

Wearing a hoodie is like wearing pajamas. Grow up.
Talk talk talk talk talk. Nice camera, crappy photos . What's with the microphone? It's not that serious.
