Good afternoon... From UK.... I have a 2007 V70 2.4se sport. D5 engine. I replaced the actuator arm 6 months ago and now I have noticed oil weeping out. You mentioned in your video about locking down on somthing to stop the oil coming out before removing and replacing the swirl flaps and removing the carbon deposits. Maybe you have touched on something that is causing my problem.... Could you please elaborate more on that specific section of your video. It was 1.50/1.57 minutes into your video?..... Thanks 👍
Just replace your swirl flaps. If the arms fall down and the sealing starts to break, you just need a new swirl bar installed. That's around 100-120 quid for the part at volvo
@@modrix In the UK unfortunately doing this will make it fail the MOT. I don't think they have roadworthiness and emissions tests in some other countries as we do. My EGR has got stuck and blocked after 112,000 miles in the UK so I will see if I can clean it out and get it working, and then change the swirl flaps as I have a lot of play where the flaps axle comes outside the head.
Hello, i have few questions. If remooving egr and dpf, can flaps be remmoved or just reprogrammed ? Also is it better to change new set of flaps ? What is advantage of remooving them ? Is it just loose some power on small revs, start driving or it is also rekated to better performance, oil, turbo lubrication, injectors ? I mean many discusions on them..Also some say leave egr, leave new flaps, just drill holes trough dpf. So what is your advice ? I understand purpose of egr, not just no black shocolate in intake, but regarding cooler intake temperature, and regarding nox gases, but then again..bad for turbo, oils, lubrication, performane, dpf clogs. So in my opinion remooving dpf and egr reorogram and sealing is good for engine, performance, etc, good for rurbo, and so on. But how regarding swirls then in this case if doong chiotune uograde. Also regarding engine oils in both cases. 0/w30 or 5/w30 ? Remonded 0w30 for colder climate, but if miage about 300 000km then maybe 5w30 better and if no egr no dpf. Better in cold climate start, but bad lubrication of turbo etc if5w30 ? What would be your advice ?:) Thanks in advace
Clean out the soot, install new swirl flaps, fix the injectors and you're good to go for another 300000 km. THAT much of a soot buid-up indicates injectors problems, so that's where you should start with fixing that engine. Clogged swirl flaps generate even more soot, as a feedback loop so the result becomes the reason. If you're about to remove swirl flaps form the ecu, remove egr and dpf as well, WITHOUT writing a new map and WITHOUT fixing injectors, you get back to 2.5tdi era economicaly and ecologicaly wise. Or just buy a petrol engine car... ?? Aw, you're a moding company. That explanes a lot...
Man arī eļļu sulo no gala. Kā tieši to pasākumu noslēgt galā?
That certainly applies to modern diesels. However, you can't beat a pre-1993 Mercedes diesel. Or, I guess, an early Volvo without all this emissions crap that causes more global warming in its manufacture than it will ever save during its lifetime.
Hi, you said that you are not going to replace them, you mean the Swirl Flaps? If they are still good, no reason for new once, right?
Thanks!
do you have a video of the removal of the intake manifold?
Thank you, usually after how many Km this happen? why you need to reprogram the swirl flap, the electronic control unit ... and how you do it?

Just take out flaps an lock 🔒 holle job done
@@modrix ok thanks for super quick response 👍🖐️ But what is it that I'm locking?....🤔

Did he replay yet? ;)
Are you removing swirl flaps altogether? Leaving holes open? And re programming ECU so it does not try to open and close?
Yes
you said the d4 has the problem solved, how about the 2013 D3, is it resolved on d3 as well?
Awesome, thanks
Is the 2.4 D4 a better engine despite not having quite the performance?
How much for removing them and how much does this cost?

You're wrong, not every D5 has swirl flaps. On my D5 biturbo, 205hp no swirl flaps at all...
is that the t10 m8

No Its Eastern Europeans, who cheap out on €300 for the new set of swirls, simply take them off and call it problem solved.
With VIDA, how is disabling in the software of the swirl valves done? Do you have video how to do that?
It is not possible in vida only in winols
@@modrixcan you supply the ECU software?

Did you eliminate the egr valve
What do you use to plug the hole?
Cik tāds prieks izmaksā? + chiptuning
😁i remooved mine too
whats the point of removing them flaps? Not better to clean this and reinstall the flaps? Is this not better to clean and buy a part to replace?
What problems do swit flaps cause like that ??
Restriction of acceleration, it'll big down and the gearbox will hold revs.
T1 and T2 dont have swirl flaps.
Aaaaand where's the solving part ? I mean for DUIs.
Megashit 😯
what did you eat Sir?
What are the symptoms ?
For me it was shifting at higher rpm like 2200. I just removed the actuator arm and problem is solved. No more swirl flaps.
Low-quality engine oil.
STAY AWAY FROM DIESEL CARS
