If you have the tein flex z then the process is a little different. The flex z lets you rotate the whole body of the coilovers so your preload stays the same while adjusting the height. The more you drop it this way, the stiffer your ride will become
you cannot rotate the whole body of the coilover on these, thats the only adjustment, either way yeah it gets bouncier as you go lower but nothing breaks
It appears the tein street basis front coils like in this video are the fronts. Because the whole body of the coilover spins as he turns it is not changing the preload. However the rears are damm hard to adjust. To change the ride height of the rears the only way is to tighten or loosen the spring which increases or decreases the spring preload. Silly but true!
@@thesafaripete so does that mean if I need to adjust the rears higher I need to compress the springs before spinning the collar upwards? or do I need to take the whole thing off from the car and spin the body to extend the total length longer
Always clean your threads with a soft bristle tooth brush before adjusting. After clean lubricate. Last thing you wanna do is mess up threads and ruin your coilover.
My dude. You adjusting your pre-load. If you raise it too much your ride quality is going to be super stiff. On traditional coilovers you move the threads INTO(inside of the bottom part of the shock). I realize that these are not traditional coilovers because I bought the same ones thinking I would be able to adjust ride height but these are NOT to lower your car. The only adjustment these are for is your spring stiffness. I bet your car rides like s**t and has a bunch of body roll. Right?
Guissep False. These do lower my car. I used to have it slammed to the ground, literally I could fit 2 fingers, until I messed my lip so I lifted it 2 inches.
Guissep these are Tein Street Advance coilovers, even the instructions that come with them specify you can adjust ride height. Also my car rides super good and corners very well too
yardman0001 Tein Street Advance. Had them 2 years. Ride is pretty good, a little noice when going over speed bumps but nothing major. All in all im really happy with them
exactly it’s so fucking hard there’s literally no space to adjust them, im trying to lower my rear but it won’t budge and i have no space to move the bottom ring.
So what he saying is screwing it up tighten a screw is making your car raise up, to lower it top ring goes same as you unscrewing a bolt,. If I’m right
I was thiinking the same thing. I thought raising the car. Raise the rings all the way up. And to lower. Lowers the rings. So spring can extend more right ?
One of the Tein coil over is the opposite way, per the instructions: “the front coilovers on your TEIN kit has adjustment rings that spin the opposite way of the other three”.
I have the same springs. But when I try and turn the top ring to raise the ride height it doesn't turn the whole spring like in your video. Any idea why mine do this?
@@leonelobbed only say this because in the video you say turn clockwise but your actually turning the tools anti-clockwise. And clockwise when you say your turning counter clockwise
I exactly did this, all the sides are equal but the fender gap is unequal, what sorcery is that? Hahaha is it normal? The other side wheel gap is higher from the fender. But they all have the same measurement

Yeah. I'm no expert but I think he just added a whole heap of preload. Doesn't seem quite right.
Mick Malins I think these are the street basis z coils so he’s only adjusting ride height. Idk if that changes the preload tho

All 4 coilovers look just like yours. The Advanced Street Z series I adjusted on a 2012 Honda Accord. Ride is perfect. Many thanks! 👍🏻
Adjust counterclockwise.
*adjusts clockwise*
clockwise? u did it backwards but i get it!

Good job..straight to the point...
Thanks man
very good this is like mine taht has 2 rings. How about the one has three rings are the method different?

You can clearly see they are height adjustable.
I also have the Tein Streer Advaced But if you lower it too much the spring will be all loose with no pre-load, won't it?
i'm just trying to figure out how to use them because I just got these and it doesn't seem like I can lower them
Hey man this applies in the rear? because i need to lower mine . I got the same coilover as yours.
What was the final measurement on each side?
Needed to all be reset in the front. Doing the same measurement on both sides will fuck ya, what side is ur transmission on? Think about it
Which Teins are those, how long have u had them and how's the ride? Any issues / noise with them?

It's ok if the spring doesn't rotate. It's the position of the spring seat relative to the damper body that matters.
Idk if you’re still on here but my adjuster things are on the top not the bottom so do you know which way I would twist to raise them
I am! What coilvers did you purchase
Thanks bro
Not sure if you know which way a clock turns ??

@@leonelobbed I just bought a car with Tien coilovers and was looking how to adjust them. So Thankyou

one side is heavier than the other
I just replace my suspension with basis z tein and if Im driving on rough road I experiencing hard bounce whats wrong with my car? any opinion please?
Did you verify your spring compression?
Read the booklet and set the coilovers to the suggested height
That hard bounce is the bump stop, you lowered them too much and now its bottoming out
The music is very distracting
That's an inch and five eights
a script would help.......
Are tein coilovers expensive?
TBills 3000 mine were around $900 shipped
Depends which ones you get
street advanced z are under 600
nunca tuviste problemas con la altura en general? osea un lado mas algo que otro? me paso a mi lol tengo que verificar
Si me paso! Pero verifique los coilovers y lo corregi

pro tip : watch series at Flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Thatcher Walker yup, I've been using Flixzone for since november myself :)
Why not use a tape measure?
Also a viable option
Super confusing
I tried 🥺
