Omg, BIG THANKS! Like the others mentioned, you explained it so easily. These are my first set of coilovers and I didn't really understand how to adjust the height. The shop I brought my car to install these aren't specialized with coilovers, just complete struts. Seems easy the way you explained it. I'll give it a go. Thanks again!

Dude thanx so much for explaining this so well I was beginning to stress on how to adjust my coil overs.. when they come in.. i was even thinking of canceling them till I saw this video thank you and God bless
Awesome! Thank you! Glad my video was informative and able to help you out. Good luck with them. Nothing wrong with trying it yourself. Worst case is you take somewhere for them to do it.
Thanks for the video: This is how I remember it: Righty Tighty (DOWN"), Lefty loosey ("UP") Clockwise Down, Counter clockwise Up From my experience the bottom ring is nothing more than a lock ring. The 2nd ring does all ride height adjustments. The top ring which your never supposed to play with, is pre-load set from the factory. The 2nd ring also locks the preload in place. You can mess with preload to soften your ride some(relaxing the spring). But its not recommended.
From MX the upper collars adjust race sag or the difference between a bike with and without the rider. As these bikes have linkages this drastically affects performance but even in a straight set up sag is important. It sets the baseline for the up and down movements. That's why in the movie Transporter he got bent when they changed the payload weight. You don't want to be either topped out or slammed. It's ok to adjust it to change stiffening to a degree but if you are at extremes get a different spring.
Thank you I just learned how to raise my struts, in your other video I learned to adjust the coil spring. Thanks I have a 2001 Honda Accord with the Spyder package.
Antidote to raise you use spanner wrench and spin the small ring at top to right and to lower use bigger wrench and spin bigger one at top to the left. That's how you actually do it.
Dang Man I ha’ve had some Rev9 coils for about 6 months and pretty low, tried adjusting today and was adjusting the springs smh, Will try this tomorrow, Thank u

In my case my coilovers only have camber adjustment in the front on top of the coilovers. The rear doesn't have any camber adjustment because I have a straight axle in the rear.
how do you know what the correct preload is? I think I tightened mine way too much. Also when I went to raise my car I ran out of treads and the coilover came apart the top disconnected from the lower part that attatrches to the lower control arm. all tho the car was sitting low I should have like 3 more inches to raise it but idk any help I would appricroate.
I know there are some other videos on RUclips that are specifically related to preload. I would check those out for that portion. I want to say there is a measurement for preload you can go off of but, don't know for sure 100%. Honestly it all depends on your set of coilovers for height adjustment. I don't know what type or brand of coilovers you have. Some are meant to go real low, others are meant for track use, and others could also be more directed towards a daily driver.
@@Cpimms I have a g37 coupe AWD and Iam running the truehart street plus coil overs max out the box the spring was loose so I tightened it as much as I can. Idk this is frustrating and I can make the car any higher because the strut will come apart.

Possibly. I would assume so. I'm not too sure though. I would definitely look at some other videos on your specific car. There's definitely tons of videos on those on RUclips that will show you how all that works.
Very informative and helped me out a lot but I have one question when you turned it right to raise how many threads are available before the bottom part comes off 😅😅😅 or is that possible
Hey buddy thank you for the video, it was very informative. Question, could you make your car sit higher than factory height with these coil overs? Why I'm asking is I have aftermarket wheels and tires on my 2015 Honda cr-v 2wd and the suspension is all factory and when people sit in the back seats the tires rub a little over a bump so that's why I asked if these coil overs could make your car ride a little higher than factory height. Take care friend and thumbs up👍 on the video.
Thank you man I appreciate that!! Glad you found the video informative and enjoyed it! With any set of coilovers you should be able to get the car to sit a little higher than factory. As far as how high you can raise them I'm unsure. Every set of coilovers are made differently as far as how low or how high you can go along with spring rates etc. Considering you drive a CR-V coilovers for that will be different for that compared to a car since it's an SUV. Also as far as the rubbing part goes you might even be able to roll your fenders to give a little bit of extra clearance for the tires so you don't rub! I don't know what your set up is like but just another thought.
How do you like the Tru Heart coilovers? I've gotten 2x of the SPC performance XR adjustable control arms. Along with the Godspeed Adjustable Front Upper Camber Arms With Ball Joints. I'm just looking for a decent coilover setup that's not going to set me back $1500
By any chance do u have a video to reset the preload to stiffer? I need to fix mine I’m getting a bad ride feel because we didn’t know that the preload was already set
Unfortunately I don't have a video on that. Pre-load would be something you would just have to kinda keep messing with till you find the right feel you want. I'm pretty sure there's definitely some good videos out there on preload in specific.
@@daddy-bm7eu The Camber Plates should be installed so they move in-to-out. So when you adjust them, they need to be able to move in towards the car, and out towards the fenders. Which would basically be vertical movement while looking straight on at the coilover from the inside of the wheel well. Hopefully that explanation helps. Sometimes it can be difficult to explain stuff via messages/comments.
Not to sure if you’re going to reply but if you do it would mean a lot! So I’m trying to break the top two rings free to adjust my preload because for some reason whenever I try to spin the coilover with my hand after breaking loose the very bottom ring the coilover doesn’t want to spin. I found on my coilovers that when I spin the preload ring the whole coilover moves as I want it too but then my preload changes and I don’t want that. How can I fix it so that I don’t have to mess with my preload in order to raise/lower the car? I have truharts as well on my g37x
What's up man! After reading what you said a couple times. To me it sounds like your coilovers could have some grime buildup that's making it a little tougher for you to adjust them. I would suggest using a bit of WD-40 or something like that to help. As far as you mentioning the whole coilover moving when you use the preload ring to adjust the coilovers. You're able to do it that way as well! The key is if your preload is already set and locked in place you should be able to use your preload ring to adjust the whole body of the coilover which adjust your height if the bottom ring is already broken loose to adjust them. The whole coilover is designed to spin to adjust the ride height even if your preload is already locked and set in place. You wouldn't be messing with your preload at that point. Hopefully that makes sense. I tried to keep it straight, simple, and to the point. Feel free to shoot me a message on IG as well because it could be easier that way compared to here as far as explaining it goes
I have the same set on my nismo , whole time I was using the spring to adjust the height , and shocks keep bottoming out on me … now I realize why it’s all fucked up… thanks man

But Phoenix so far has been kind to me 👌🏻😂
@@BlayzinWithAngelOfficial Yikes man!! That sounds brutal. All I can say is I know that feeling. Not that crazy into it like that tho. Good luck and hopefully you get it figured out.
@@BlayzinWithAngelOfficial Ya you totally can forsure. I would say do fronts or rear first. Meaning like if you choose to do fronts first, do one side and then do the opposite side then move to the rear. It makes it easier that way in my opinion. Another thing I would say is if you can, do it on the flattest surface possible so you're getting an accurate reading for how your height will sit while driving.
Tough to say honestly. Could be too low that's why it's rubbing or the coilovers themselves could be going bad. Hard to say. You can try raising the height and see if that fixes it. Probably where I'd start
*Adjusting rear from front is totally different!!! One holds the weight of an engine, and a driver at all times. The rear especially in double wishbone rear wheel drive cars are set differently*
I am thinking of purchasing this coilovers for a 2004 honda crv, is this brand reliable and durable? Now if I understood the video, the third ring is to adjust the height and lower the car, the two upper rings are to adjust the damping speed? it would be correct?
They are a good budget set of coilovers in my opinion!! There are definitely better ones out there though too. It's all personal preference to be honest. Yes the lowest ring down at the bottom is just for adjusting ride height. The other 2 that are below the spring are meant for adjusting the pre-load on the coilovers.

I have the same set on my nismo , whole time I was using the spring to adjust the height , and shocks keep bottoming out on me … now I realize why it’s all fucked up… thanks man
Dude you legit saved me a trip to the shop 😂 I messed with mines on accident and now my ride is freaking wiggly . Pretty sure they’re old since I do own a 04 but hey until they snap right 😂👌🏻 10:29
Awesome! You can send me a tip for helping you out via check in the mail. Hahahahaha totally messing with you man. Glad my video was informative and able to help you out!
@@Cpimms lol 😂 I would but I’m 2.7k$ into getting my damn car to move forward and not just at 5 MPH 😂 . Checked my solenoids, inside the tranny , engine, and nada, no DTC’s , so I’m confused on what’s going on 😂 on top of it, I’m stranded and 11 hours away from home. But Phoenix so far has been kind to me 👌🏻😂
@@BlayzinWithAngelOfficial Yikes man!! That sounds brutal. All I can say is I know that feeling. Not that crazy into it like that tho. Good luck and hopefully you get it figured out.
@@Cpimms so if I don’t have Jack stands right, can I adjust it while one side (rear or front) is on the floor and I have two jacks on either side?
@@BlayzinWithAngelOfficial Ya you totally can forsure. I would say do fronts or rear first. Meaning like if you choose to do fronts first, do one side and then do the opposite side then move to the rear. It makes it easier that way in my opinion. Another thing I would say is if you can, do it on the flattest surface possible so you're getting an accurate reading for how your height will sit while driving.
thanks for the help bro.
Glad my video was informative and able to help you out! Appreciate the support man!
Great vid!!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Dawg thanks for the help I was dumbstuped about it
You're welcome man! Glad my video could help you out!
My rear tires rub with the fender, do you think these will help preventing that? I don’t car if it’s stiff but just the rubbing is bothering me.
Tough to say honestly. Could be too low that's why it's rubbing or the coilovers themselves could be going bad. Hard to say. You can try raising the height and see if that fixes it. Probably where I'd start
Roll your fenders or camber the rear wheels if you like the ride height. If not then raise the coilover.
The other 2 that are below the spring are meant for adjusting the pre-load on the coilovers.
thank you omg 🙏
Nice great video bro!
Thanks man! I appreciate the support!
