Hey Kevin: 1. Lit reviews are a GREAT way to build up knowledge, and yup, they can even be published. This is a great goal. 2. This is a wonderful example of STEM research applied to societal impact. Awesome job on this, I'm honestly inspired to read your comment. I wish you the best of luck with these goals, and will try to reply in a few weeks asking how it's going. Also, thanks for supporting the video!
@@RishabJainK Thank you so much for the kind words and advice! I'm currently participating in a Makers program on this exact topic, and hopefully, that will help me grow connections with professors in this field. This literature review will likely play into or at least help develop the solution I'm planning at the moment. The reason I'm interested in studying endocrine-disrupting chemicals is because of the possible impact they have on reproduction in people and wildlife. Some estrogen-mimicking compounds, such as phthalates in air fresheners, are known to have emasculating effects that can lead to decreased reproductive fitness in model organisms. I hypothesize that these EDCs are behind the almost halving in male sperm count over the last 50 years (see Temporal Trends in Sperm Count by H Levine), as well as the steady rise in miscarriages, even in developed nations where this shouldn't be happening. I'm really interested in pursuing and solving this issue but am also attracted to the field of finance. I'm hoping that in my research I can address both finance and EDCs, which would be a novel research idea in this developing field. Hi! I made a science project which I represented at state level in 2019 when I was in grade 11 and I got a grant of Rs 10000 for it, it is known as "Inspire Awards of Manak " by govt of India. The project is really big what can I do of it as it is quite damaged now, any idea?? It was based on innovation

Hi! My goals: 1. To reach the first or at least second place at the astronomy olympiad. I got the second place at the finals last year when I was in the eighth grade by the US system (I live in Russia so technically I was in the seventh grade,we study here for eleven years since age of 7). We have 4 steps at the All-Russian Olympiad (you can participate at it in 24 school subjects actually): 1)school step, then 2) municipal one, 3) so-called 'regional' step (Russia is divided into 85 subjects, which we call regions) and the last step is an All-Russian one. How I said, I reached it last year and this was pretty much fun! I am having a regional step in two days, so I hope I'll have even better results. 2. To learn how to code (and then program) properly. I started coding a year ago and am currently studying a course here in my town, and now I am trying to learn and use more algorithms ;) I I really like everything related to computers, and hopefully I'll learn how to use my knowledge in different fields altogether and make something important. 3. To try to do some research work. I already tried some of it last summer when a team of an online school let us, starting programmers, be a part of making the AI chat-bot that would be able to talk to you, so you develop your English language speaking level. It works perfectly well, so I guess it was a really cool experience. By making research and project work I hope I'll be considered by international universities, because, sadly, there's no way for me to stay in Russia if I want to work in scientific field. It's just not possible now (and let's say, that life here is not the best during this period, although many people here are trying to change that) Sooo, we will see what is waiting for me :) I have sooo many olympiads this year, and I hope I'll succeed) thank you for giving great advices! Both a) Look into overlooked applications of this technology, and b) Identify how current practical limitations are decreasing potential impact, and what developments are required to improve this, choosing one within either of these areas to guide a more specific research project What is your opinion regarding creating physical prototypes/experiments as a result of research? Is it valuable, e.g. making a prototype robot based on research suggesting their application could be valuable in a specific area?
Great goals! I think physical prototypes is a really good idea in engineering! I have seen a ton of great high schooler projects where they make budget versions of expensive machines/use frugal parts and make some crazy device for under $100. It's a great way to showcase skills and idea, without having laser cut parts etc.
@@RishabJainK Thanks, its good to hear that the practical projects are also good as I was debating what would work best for engineering/robotics. I had some research experience already on a completely different topic (Location modelling of nuclear winter bunkers) and will likely use your videos to do the same within robotics, but as you say a practical project could be something interesting to do at the end, testing/demonstrating the concepts I've learned.
