After installation, you need to update the mainboard firmware to use it normally. Please select the appropriate file according to the motherboard model and the computer operating system. For the time being, there is no software for the MAC burning DLC firmware. Please use the Windows computer to complete this step.

i bought the s30 pro max but keep getting probles with the limit switxh
Will these work with an s6 pro?
Wouldn't it just be more simple for everyone if you just installed the limit switches at the factory. Looks like a great machine but I don't want to have to mess on like that!
They even package the limit switches with the kit, instead of selling them aftermarket, for S30. There, they phrase it as "install these if you want, but they take up a little cutting area".

It only works if you have an older S9/10. The new ones come with a different chip inside, and these instructions tell you to use a tool (and download a firmware image) that don't work with that chip.

Very good
Most current series have new firmware that usually does not need to be re-flashed and should work right away. Especially the S30 (Ultra) series as well as the latest S9 lasers with 32bit-boards. Try without flashing first.
I just installed new limit switches on my S10 and it didn't need flashing, I enabled limit switches by writing $22=1 in the console and hitting enter. Then the laser homed for the first time ^^

I put the switches at the bottom right on sculpfun s9 I modified using glbr and laserburn and now it does the home at the bottom right, but if I start it it slams against the switch Y as if it were upside down, I tried to engrave manually and it results on the contrary (but not mirrored) how can I do??? Help please, my motherboard looks nothing like yours, i guess i must have an old stock one. I don't have a motherboard number on it nor do I have the white sockets. I have just a red and a blue socket so how do I connect the switches to my S9 and what board should i select for the software instal bit

Do you have a X-axis switch extension cable? I'm using the Y-axis extension kit.

All was working 2 days ago, but monday my lasercutter started going crazy! When I disable the limit switches, my lasercutter is OK and all works! Can anyone help me with this problem? I did update the firmware and in my LightBurn software I enabled the appropriate options, but as soon I do that, my lasecutter stops behaving normally and does weird stuff or nothing at all. I used the " ? " to find what is going on, but all seems normal, no red flags by the results. Any ideas why is this happening? Thanks in an advance!

I just installed this on my S9. My S9 shipped with what is apparently a new motherboard and the DLC32 firmware did not work. Flashing with S10 firmware didn't work either. Once I flashed with S30 firmware it functions normally. If new S9's are being shipped with later versions of mainboards you might need to provide the firmware for that scenario.

I'm trying to do as the video says for DLC32 but it displays this messager : "Failed to connect to Espressif device: Timed out waiting for packet header"

At get position it shows negative values (x:-377 y:-387). I’m trying to go further this step reading all the documentation and videos from shared links but I still can’t set the offset… Could someone point me in the right direction? Should I post this question at fb group? This is very frustrating…

When I try to flash the new firmware (.hex - data)
I get the error:
"avrdude.exe: stk500_recv():programmer is not responding"
What can be the problem?
The S9s and S10s they've made most recently use the same board inside as their S30s. It has a different chip driving it: Instead of an AVR chip, it has an ESP32. Since it's not an AVR chip, AVRDude can't talk to it.
I'm still struggling with this, myself.

From my understanding these new ones don't need reflashing, so you can simply go into Lightburn and enable limit switches by writing $22=1 in the console, then move your laser away and click Home to see the magic!

OK, I found out these steps: 1) (In the video, where the menu was in Chinese,) she went to the 4th menu that is to change the language from Chinese to English - first option in the 4th menu!
2) One must go to the last menu - TOOLS-FLASH...
3) Select Arduino UNO!
4) Browse to where your firmware is at and select it
5) Click OK to burn the firmware.
In my case, the controller on my S9 is the first version, so I used the non-32BIT version of the firmware.
It took minute to burn the firmware, but after that I closed the software and run my LightBurn 1.4.01 version
To test my HOME POSITION I clicked the Home Button (It has a symbol of a house on it) and my S9 found my left bottom corner, where the limit switches are installed, with no error or problems.
Hope the steps above clear up some confusion and you can make your Laser Cutter into more friendly machine!
How do I install it on a mac?
Hi after installing the limit switch exactly as you instructed, my get position now is x -357 y -367.... and when i start a project, it starts from the upper right of the work area... but when i press the home/reset,, its goes to the limiti switch... Home and origin is different....
Display/two gears/wrench and screwdrivers
Open the wrench and screwdriver (Device Settings for ...)
Upper left: Working Size -Origin (confirmed that the original point uses the lower left corner)
And confirm that job origin uses Absoluts Coords, and the original point is also in the lower left corner
@@SCULPFUNReal I have this same problem, and it is not fixed by your solution. I can only fix it bij entering G92 X0 Y0 into the console every time before a job! Is there a permanent fix for this??
I've installed firmware from LaserGRBL: Arduino Uno, v1.1h XY homing, I have not 32-bit board. Now, after homing I have: for lower left corner = x0 y0, upper right corner = x370 y395

I installed the switches with no problems and didn't need to flash the memory.
But I have an issue now with the laser strength in Lightburn
In Grbl it works fine but LIGHTBIRN it's like the laser power is reduced.
Anyone else had this issue?

They are needed if you use a camera. I do not know about the S6.

I have the same problem
i used DLC32 firmware and erased and started successfully. but my laser stopped working. it is not moving at all. there is blinking light on the board when i click the home button or move buttons but the laser is not getting the command from the board. i retried it many times but in vain. what can be the problem? want to mention that i just changed the board after upgrading with the automatic air assist on my S10
The automatic air auxiliary set is the motherboard of the S30. This motherboard does not need to burn the firmware

My controller -S9 DLC V1.0 - is it or is it not a 32 bit controller? Where would I find that information? Does the 32 BIT controller board states something like: DLC 32? Or DLC 32BIT? Because if I have to upload something to my S9 controller and I don't want to screw it up!

I think i have a different motherboard, because mine has not XY DLC/XY DLC32 on it. Mine just says "sculpfun, De By LYz, 20221026" and i have NOT the 4 white pins on the left for the switches to connect. I have 1 blue and 1 red connector. I did the rest of thhe tutorial, flashed the 32 bit firmware whitout error messages, but now the machine starts u, connects to Lightburn, but NO movement at all (i set all you shown in lightburn). I can not even just move the laser, fire button doesnt work....nothing goes !!!! PLEASE HELP ME

Why is it advertised that way? Every expansion kit points out that limit switches is an option. That was one of the reasons why I purchased the limit switches. I will have to put together some wiring to make this work correct?

Hello, I have a serious problem. I follow what is shown in the video, however, when I click "Eraser" in MKS ESP32. an error appears, you can see that the laser spot is flashing, but after a while the message "Filed to connect to Espressif device: Time out waiting for packet header" pops up Changing ports and reinstalling does not help. I have laser S9 and plate DLC Ver. 1.1. Laser stopped working in Light Burn. Please help

I have a S6 pro. I ordered the same limit switches because I could not find any that specifically stated they are for that machine. I was able to install the software and they work perfectly with the S6 Pro. The firmware file you will dl is actually labeled as "8-bit xy-dlc motherboard firmware S6-S9". (I had the motherboard with the label of DLC (see more on video). Since it is labeled as S6-S9 I feel like the limit switches were intended for S6 as well as S9-S10. I am not a professional so this is not an expert recommendation.....I am just a user letting you know that it worked for me.

how about a switchbox for rotary roller? that way you could keep rotary and normal y-axis connected all the time and select which you want to use with a flick of a switch
Please update this video to work for the newer S9s/S10s that have the ESP-based motherboard. These instructions don't work for the new S9s / S10s.

I'm afraid that my laser cutter will not work if something get screwed up do to LACK OF CORRECT INFORMATION in this video! When you make video like this one, you must understand that we are all not some computer/laser cutter experts! You did that so fast, I can't follow your instructions! Hmm I don't have a model. It just says Sculpfun. There is a small date on it though 20221115. Now I am wondering if I need the flash or if it has been done already 🤔😢
