    Howdy Roger and greetings from the great state of Missouri! I’m adding the Sculpfun S9 to my repertoire, and use a honeycomb bed with my XTool D1 (non-pro) 10w. How badly does a spoilboard like the one in the video you’re making as a gift get scorched up? Do you use yours with elevation off the board for your cutting material? Thanx in advance!

      I use a stainless steel plate under the honeycomb board to prevent that.

    Really enjoyed this video as I too have a Sculpfun S9 and still learning the ropes! If possible, I might take you up on your offer to have those leg retainers and focus block holder printed. Let me know what the best way to coordinate that is. Really appreciate it!

    Thanks for a great video! I've printed the mounting feet & cylinder holder and have a question about the mounting feet you used. In your video it looks as if your mounting feet do not have an additional screw hole inside the right angle - or am I just not seeing it? It does not look as if you had to notch the grid board to accomodate that inner screw. The best image is of the back left mounting foot at 5:37. Thanks!

      Two screws per corner is adequate. i did not use the set screw option as it fits plenty tight without it. I did not need to notch anything.

    I notice you don't have limit switches. Doesn't the grid become misaligned every time you start it?
    Don't you have to reset the home every time and realign the laser to zero/zero

      No. On lasers that do not have limit switches or a homing function, I always work from center and "current Position". Since the laser is set in mounting feet, it does not move, so the grid is always square to the laser. I set my laser head to center on the grid, then position my project.
      There are other ways to do this, but I find this quickest.

    Is this safe to be in a working laser with your eyes unprotected?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад +2

      Even though the laser has a shield, if I'm looking at it, I wear goggles.

      @@rogersshop sorry but your risking your eyes lazer light can reflect on many things you dont have to look in it... to get blind.... and regarding ventilation ... i would take mesures for it its toxic fumes... but yeah that are not my longs and eyes...

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  17 дней назад +1

      @@technicalmeltdown I do not look at the laser without goggles on. There is nothing to reflect unless doing glass or a mirror, then wear my goggles. Shop is WIDE open to the outside with a fan behind me. I don't even catch a scent. Been doing this a long time and have 16 lasers.
