My parents moved to Los Realejos above Puerto De La Cruz in 1972 and lived there for 30 years and died there. My experience was nearly 100% in the north, the furthest south we went was Los Christianos and El Medano. Freddie and Monica you have stirred such moving memories of the Island for me coupled with my long lost love of biking this has been the most truly emotional journey for me. Bless you both. I hope to return one day, at 71 I need to get back once more. Enjoy the beauty and thanks for putting this side of the Island and it's history on the channel, Tenerife is not all booze and discos.

Yes, indeed Garachico is considered one of the beautiful towns not only in Tenerife but also in Spain. One thing you don't know is that the malvasia wine that William Shakespeare drank and that he mentioned in some of his works, was produced and shipped from Garachico to the UK. Thank you very much for this video. Before leaving the island, I recommend that you visit the northeast area of the island (Tegueste, Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo). By the way, on the way to Punta del Hidalgo, you will find the first Melita cafeteria that was opened, located on a cliff that It will allow you to see spectacular sunsets. All the best.

Yet another excellent vlog Freddie. Having visited all of the Canary Islands many many times with the exception of El Hierro I'm always shocked when I hear that someone has never visited any of them. We're back in December but this time we've chosen to visit by cruise ship, for those who have never visited the Canaries you get a taste of each island, fabulous.

Great video, I was in Garachico just a few days before you, what a wonderful place - superb ice cream parlour just across the road from the car park you were in. If you've not been yet, I recommend a trip to Icod de los Vinos to see El Drago, visit the butterfly garden Mariposario del Drago and take a walk around the Casa del Plátano to see how the bananas are grown & the history behind the trade in the Canaries (also checkout the Land Rovers inside, especially the restored Series 1). Each of these are within metres of each other and near to the centre of the town which is worth a stroll around.

I was amazed when I visited Puerto de la Cruz on the north of the island, all the different architectural styles were mind blowing plus a superb goat casserole and in another bar a great evening with fresh pork scratchings, and friendly locals. Loved the place, great video Freddie. Ps liked the house up the mountain.
The Canary Islands were also important before the Suez Canal opened. Ships going from Europe to Asia would often stop for water and fresh fruit. Also, there was a short interwar period when flying boats flying from Britain to South Africa would use the port of Las Palmas for refueling.

Congratulations on 35k subscribers. Been a viewer for a little while and the production value; picture quality, audio, camera work and editing makes it seem you've been doing it a lot longer than you have. Also, the content is always educational and presented in a natural yet enthusiastic way.
That was a very interesting stopover at Garacghico and no visit would be complete without a coffee and in this case some pancakes. Nice to see a cafe where it was just so inviting to sit and have inviing food and coffees - obviously Monika found the place great and amusing at times as you ordered yet another pancake. And nowhere would be complete without a postie (Correos) Scooter at 15:28 being driven by a postlady I think (not 'Nathan the postman'). You could only get the cigars if you paid casj but I don't recollect you returning for them?
Lovely video as always and yet more to see from the island. I'm guessing finding somewhere else to go after Tenerife is going to be hard, with all its plus points I can see leaving will be quite a hard decision.
What a place I can't help but wonder what the price of that property was, what a place to live it would be a dream . That was a very interesting stopover at Garacghico and no visit would be complete without a coffee and in this case some pancakes. Nice to see a cafe where it was just so inviting to sit and have inviing food and coffees - obviously Monika found the place great and amusing at times as you ordered yet another pancake. And nowhere would be complete without a postie (Correos) Scooter at 15:28 being driven by a postlady I think (not 'Nathan the postman'). You could only get the cigars if you paid casj but I don't recollect you returning for them?

The opening sequence was worth the price of admission! Such a nostalgic feel! It felt like Steve McQueen was going to come around the corner at any minute! And what happened to the details of the place that was for sale? Pre Covid we were looking at Spain and Tenerife as possible places to retire.

That simple and joyous feeling of being on a bike and contemplate life in a existencial way propeled by curiosity and a will of beauty was almost gone on the last 45 years, or so, being threatened by a GP craze that, fortunately, is giving some space for the (re)rising of the pure original spirit of motorcycling.
This video (and others, regarding bikes that stay true to its purest origins) evoke that aesthetic (this term must be understood in its sensorial and regarding to beauty sence) experience that just on a motorcycle we may live.
Pretty nice that someone as young as you, Freddie, is capable to be open for that feeling and has the wisdom to enjoy such pleasures and, besides, share it with us on internet wordwide.
