    Out of nowhere, this video appeared on my feed, which turns out to be a very engaging and hilarious podcast! It is heartwarming to see the great connection among 3 Malaysians and 1 Singaporean. We are actually the same people 🤩 Blessings from Singapore

    13:03 is accurate. Singapore do have nice food just that you have to pay more for it.

    Katong laksa is not a tourist food! Sometimes i felt Darren's view is not very well supported / represented but at times a breath of fresh air. Diversity of voice i guess

      I beg to differ, there are many dish unique to Singapore that tastes good like Chicken Rice, Bak Kut Teh, Satay Bee Hoon, Fish head curry, Chili crab, Hokkien Mee, Laksa

      @@KeoNz Yea you’re right I don’t see satay bee hoon in msia either. But Fish head curry and chicken rice we have. Bak Kut Teh we have it as pig stomach soup, we’re already familiar with the pepper style soup, and laksa too we have it as nyonya/curry laksa, not sure why nobody mention this or maybe I’m wrong. I’m not comparing which is better I’m just stating the dishes that are unique to SG 🙂

      @jigeahah5058 fish head curry, chili crab and chicken rice originated from Singapore hence would taste better in Singapore even though Malaysia might have them too.

    As a Singaporean, I've never found our hawker food to be delicious. I go to Newton Circus for ambience more than tasty food. The ambience compennsates for mediocre fare that can be found in most food centres.

    the general SG heartland food standard is like the passing mark in the a bell curve - the worst food in a kopitiam is still decent edible and the best one also not amazing and cannot fight

    Singapore chicken rice better la

  • @ChristineTohXH
    @ChristineTohXH 13 дней назад

    Haha, there are just too many factors that affect a judgement of whether a food is 'better', it's just one of the many entertaining Singapore vs Malaysia debates. Price, nostalgia, flavour profile, etc, all plays a part. Just like how Malaysians cannot accept Singapore's peppery Bak Kut Teh is just you grew up remembering it should be a herbal soup, as what ThePantryBoy recalled how he thinks mung bean soup should be sweet and not savoury. There could also be a dish that you ate consistently while you aged over the years, and it can sometimes be incomparable to the one that everyone else likes. Really no right or wrong here.
    One thing I have to say is Singapore gahmen is also sabotaging our own hawker culture by not controlling rental, food costs (inflation), and regulating a low-sodium/low-sugar diet. haha. It's unfortunate that I think SG's hawker will definitely die earlier than Malaysia's counterparts.

    • @qherwhw4-wn6po
      @qherwhw4-wn6po 15 дней назад +1

      sg got nice nasi lemak you need to pay more than hawker prices. wild coco, coconut club. can beat all the best msian nasi lemaks haha, just that their average one probably better than our average hawker nasi lemak

      Actually the ingredients make a diff. Some ingredients cant get in sg although malaysian chefs. And also local taste…notice most chicken at eco rice comes with skin, malaysia dont

    Hard to watch this kind of video when its just malaysian purely attacking SG food for nothing. Just cause its not your preference doesnt mean its bad and that they have problem. Yall arent doing well in malaysia that yall need to attack SG?

      i was about to say that too! cause there are nothing better to do 😂😂
      but then again, i do envy them singaporeans for having so many affordable live events in close vicinity.. imagine having to drive 60km every week to watch a 100bucks live show in KL 😢😢😢
      for the past two years i think i have easily spent over rm3000 for all the events i’ve attended, averagely 1 show per month.. but with that amount dollar to dollar, i could’ve watched 2-3 shows every month in singapore, maybe even more ☠️

    compare to usa n mexico... sg combo with malaysia is no match..1 is first world n the other 3rd world...however u slice it sg will always be better, smarter n progressive marysia lagging along with their 3 Rs...until the chinese+indians out grow the malays...
