15:03 aiyo y’all are too sweet pls🥺 thank YOU guys for being the true delight!!! love love loved hosting the team :” looking forward to catching ya next round👋🏼
Birds of Paradise at East Coast road also had rude staff lol. No signage that samples weren’t allowed when I went last year, and got side eyed when I asked politely lol. Also somehow I tried to pay with cash and they refused until I insisted??? Very bizarre and feels like all their staff across the branches except changi suck.
18:30 Chijmes is because of the building it was before it became a pub/restaurant area. It was Chij school, a catholic convent school But you all really spending alot on this trip to sg. Breakfast 300+sgd for 8. Nope too exp. Toastbox, yakun or coffeeshop , Jeremy can bring you to the coffeeshop, more local food
im so glad i came across sip & spill on tiktok, i get so excited when i come across every video on my fyp. i had to find a longer source, and im not disappointed - graeme and his bathroom habits was too funny 🤣🤣 love from canada 🍁
Please come to Singapore more often and callout more rude service staff! maybe a new segment??? "Eat out and call out"??? Honestly just curious how the team would approach food content, (i.e. food reviews with humour)
On behalf of Singapore, we apologize for the minority and the bad service the team has encountered but majority of us are nice still! So please come back often! 💪
Listened to the podcast and have to see the censored ice cream place to avoid. As a Singaporean, I'm angry that you all had a bad experience there. There are tons of better ice cream places than the Birds of Paradise. You all should try Creamier. I had one recently and it's definitely much more pleasant than what you had. Hope you all visit Singapore again!
one thing i learnt after living in sg. anytime anyone says a place is nearby, google it and see what the walking time is, and add at least 5-10 mins to the google estimate, cos singaporeans walk darn fast. they're among the fastest walkers in the world. worst place to get caught in a zombie apocalypse.
I've never been to bird of paradise but experienced countless side eyed throughout the years whenever shopping in the mall. I felt it was my outfit because my first trip out of sg was trip to Malacca back in 2013 with my class when I was sec3, a random auntie came up to me out of a sudden while standing next to the road waiting for the bus, kept tsk tsk tsk tsk and scolded me for my dressing in Malay, which my classmate told me that I dressed up looking fancy/expensive. which gave me a shock because I wore a plain t-shirt, a jeans legging, black converse high cut and my sis's plain navy tote bag with sling. and that's considered dressed down compared to how I usually dressed up back then whenever I go out. thereafter for many years whenever I go shopping always experienced side eyed. I got annoyed with dealing with such, I decided to splurge on designer bags as I really love the design and it also helped with building up confidence, since then seldom experienced side eye. lately I realised that probably got side eyed because others felt that too young to be shopping in orchard area? many told me I looked like im in my teenage years, when I said I was in my mid twenties, they were always in disbelief and said I have babyface. but lately I find that my chubby cheeks are gone which makes me scared of looking old, it start to hit me that in few years time I'll be in my thirties.
@@liuf92 true 😂 I was shocked when I met up with my relatives for dinner at the restaurant and my cousin wore shorts and slipper when she brought her kids along. which we felt that outfit were more suitable for going to nearby to run errands. same goes to those xmm that wore shorts and slipper to orchard road, it felt out of place instead.
so sorry to hear about the experience vivian had at the ice cream place :( most service staff are nice, but some can b rlly rude too so please dont feel like it could've been your fault! but glad that you enjoyed your trip overall :) you are all welcome in sg, come again soon! ❤

Yes someone has finally said it !
In my poly years it was Island Creamery that had all the bitchy staffs. The joke was that you had to be pretty and bitchy to work there.

Birds of paradise is over hype.
Enjoy your show a lot. Please do not let that incident paint Sg in general.
What is that. Being censored?
Shout out to o HITZ FM ….
vivian looks like Chloe Moretz
CHIJMES gets its name cos it was previously the convent of the holy infant Jesus school (CHIJ)
