- I spent a few days in southwest Colorado with two my friends, Logan and Bryan. We visited the small town of Ouray right at the beginning of Spring and it did not disappoint. This a beautiful little town full of kind people. I shot seven rolls through my Pentax 67ii while I was out there and got some recent favorite images. Hope you guys enjoy!

It's so interesting seeing this bright and warm and colorful take on your adventure after seeing Bryan's colder and darker video. Pumped to see Logan's!
This was an intimate slice of photographic enjoyment, thanks for the inspiration. Thank you Brae, Bryan and Logan, cheers.
Thank you as always ❤️
Holy Smokes! This is the dream team in a dream location!!!
🤠
Those portraits of the kids on bikes are fire Brae ! I'm also mainly a landscape photographer, and I'm an introvert, so taking strangers portraits is something I really want to work on. I found that using old cameras like a TLR or a 4x5 helps a lot to break the ice with strangers. They are generally the one coming to me "hey is that an old camera ?" and that leads to an easy "wanna get your portrait with that oldie ?" :) Is it cheating ? ^^
Thanks very much! And yeah that’s a great tip! I bet the 4x5 camera in particular gets some fun conversations started haha
Magnificent work, swell vibes and photos
Thank you!
A wonderful video featuring 3 of my favorite ‘tubers and some bitchin compositions. The kids on bikes shots are my favorites, as well. Well done, Brae.
Thank you!
Brae, seriously the quality here is fantastic! Such a great video, thank you for it - was just the right starter for the day with my breakfast :)
Thanks for watching dude! Glad you enjoyed. Been enjoying your vids from Japan. Cheers!
Everyone's saying it but the pics of the bicycle kids are sooo cool! Great vid as always Brae, you never fail to inspire me to get out and shoot.
Thanks so much man 🙏🏻
Loving the difference in perspective from your lens choices. You seem to be digging that 55.
Absolutely loving the 55. Pretty much using it for all my photos now other than the occasional portrait on the 105. I think it’s the perfect focal length for the 6x7 aspect ratio.
Brae, this was it. The portraits of people in their places is such a good story to tell. Keep shooting photos, keep sharing photos and videos when you can, appreciate you.
Thanks very much, Tim. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and leaving some kind feedback!
Great photos Brae, and you couldn't have found better company to accompany you on this trip 🙂
Thank you! Yeah Logan & Bryan are both great
Winter is a tough time for me mentally. It's the one time of the year where I just can't motivate myself to get out. Film changed that though. The past couple of years I find myself at least going for a drive looking for something to shoot. Its helped for sure and seeing your cold snowing shots here at the intro has me feeling that slight joy I got this last winter.
You and me both! Cool to hear you’ve been able to get out a bit. I’ve noticed that even just attempting to get out there and shoot in the winter gives me a certain level of fulfillment that I do appreciate.
Dude YES. The photos in this video are freakin rad. The photos of the kiddos with their bikes gave me goosebumps. Sick work. More like this!!
Ah thank you dude!!
Yuuuppp, this is possibly my favourite video of yours, ever. Really nicely done, and those portraits. Boy oh boy those portraits. The set of Bryan could be the standout for myself but they're all so wonderful.
Thanks so much 👊🏻
Putting people into the picture is important to really get a sense of the place. The Earth has existed (we suppose) without people at some stage, but we are now in the people habitation stage, so let's record our time here.
Love it! Thank you !!!
Thanks for watching!
The cinematography and editing just keeps getting better and better.
Thank you!
Amazing. Thank you for taking us with you.
Thanks for watching!
Epic. Your style has certainly changed my approach.
I really love those photos of the kids on bikes….great work!
Thanks, David!
Now this a great group of ragtag photo bandits exploring the mountains!
Haha cheers 🍻
Love those oranges and blues. Safe travels!
The documentary aspect is awesome, especially of places that are small or forgotten. Great video!
Thanks, Anthony!
Nice flare on the shootin’ straight into the sun scenes .. my favorite.
Good shot on the green canoe and green house, excellent !!!
Thank you!!
Excellent as usual, and the photographs of the kids ... love it.
Thank you!
that was a really enjoyable 15 mins, loved the photos of the kids.
Thanks Sathya!
The small towns have a lot of character and seem to have been frozen in time. Always awesome to see what makes them unique, awesome video! ✌️
Definitely. Always fun photographing them.
Drove through Ouray six or seven years ago. Through the mountains to Durango, what a beautiful place!
That part of the state is lovely, definitely looking to return soon!
Stupendous location, stupendous photography and editing. Your personal reflections were a deeply felt overlay that sealed this episode as one your best.
Reminded me of my own traveling experiences, how the actual photographic and cinematrophy journey felt isolated, but by later editing, adding music and posting to RUclips, you get a sense that it was all worthwhile, as those with similar passions will find and appreciate it. Thank you
Thanks so much for the kind words! I appreciate it. I’ve learned that trips like these are really important for me.
as if this quality is on youtube.. mindblowing. 🐐🐐🐐🐐
Thank you 🙏🏻
Unreal man this was pure gold.
Thanks man 👊🏻
I love Ouray! A local in Montrose once recommended that town to me and I’m so glad that they did. So scenic! Great video as always.
Yeah it was a wonderful time! Thanks for watching, Rob!
This was amazing, both the beautiful pictures and the video as a whole! 🤩
Thank you dude ❤️
Wonderful images as always and the sentiment at the start really hits home
Thank you, Robin!
Brae, man, obviously love your landscapes but really digging the portraits in this video. Particularly the ones of the bicycle kids, Bryan at 8:32 and 8:38, and Logan at 8:56. And the group shot at 10:47 is just pure fun. Loving it!
I second this. The portraits are outstanding!
Thank you so much, Jeremiah. Had a lot of fun capturing photos of Bryan & Logan on this trip!
Nice dude!! You guys getting together made of a great story telling adventure of this little town! Nicely done!
Thank you man!
Glad you got to grumpy's. Never thought you would be in this neck of the woods, but it seems fitting you would find them both.
Yeah grumpy's was incredible. Beautiful town. Thanks for watching!
beautiful video. great photos, editing, story. I wish I had pictures like those guys. Keep it up!
Thank you, Tomasz! I appreciate the kind words :)
"i dont have any friends back home that share the same artistic interests" i feel that on a deep level. Anytime i talk about photography, or film, they listen, but dont get it.
Haha yeah it’s not ideal
Agree. It's why channels like this are important avenues to bring like minded people together - to share the passion.
This was a great watch man, what a stunning place & a beautiful collection of photos from it. Seems like the perfect kind of trip👌
Thank you dude! Definitely my favorite kinda trip. Cheers 🍻
This is incredible. Your photos here made me feel like part of the town, part of the scenery. I totally understand the feeling of being alone in the enjoyment of film photography and it can really be an uninspiring drag. If you’re ever in the Puyallup area, I would be so down to go shooting with you. Take care 👍🏼
Thank you! Appreciate that ❤️
This definitely one of my favorite videos of yours to date. Well done!
Thanks dude!
The 3 bro photo shot was awesome. Great vid as always.
Thanks Gary!
What a cool location. And a relatable story since I also went on a trip recently that revitalized my interest in photography and gave me new subjects to take pictures of.
Love it! Thank you dude 👊🏻
You absolutely killed it with these photos and this video Brae! This looked like such a fun adventure! You've got me excited to go to Colorado in a couple weeks and shoot some medium format!
Thanks dude! Enjoy your trip! Looking forward to seeing the photos!
Broooo this is cinema, oh wow! Damn good!
Thank you sir!
Have some family near that area, always gets the creative juices flowing being out there. Great video and lovely photos! Much love from a fellow pentax 6x7 shooter
Thank you, Luke! Best camera out there!
Brae, this Vlog is full of awesome content dude! All of it! The location, the video work, the story/bts, the images especially the property & portrait shots... Absolutely everything. Top work man.
Thanks so much man ❤️
I think Brae is more of a better cinematographer than photographer. What a breathtaking cinematic photography video. Awesome Job Brae as always.
Thanks man 👊🏻
I'm not even done watching the video, I just had to come here and say how dope that shot of the boys on the bikes is. With the mountains in the background? Incredible
EDIT: ok i finished the video. love seeing you back in your element! this got me pumped to get out there too. very insipring work as always
Ahh thanks so much man. Appreciate it 👊🏻
Always wanted to do a trip like this! It was also really inspiring to go out today and take some photos
Definitely recommend it!
Awesome video as always! I camped in Ouray on a crosscountry roadtrip back in early October. Snow was just starting to accumulate on the peaks and the aspens were in peak fall colors. The combination of the huge snow capped mountains and yellow aspens was one of the most beautiful things I've seen.
I can only imagine, must’ve been incredible!
Dude, the segment from 1:39 to 2:17 hits right home, it's exactly the same for me. Exploring new and different places is both a boost and a reset and I really miss travelling a lot. Hopefully this summer I'll manage to go somewhere for a couple day and shoot a roll or two with some Takumars I got recently!
I might have already told you this, but I'm always fascinated by the way you manage to capture these snippets, fragments of life in those towns far removed from the hustle and bustle of big name cities. They are at the same time completely different and very similar so small towns here in Italy. Well, backwaters are more or less the same all over the world, I guess.
Thanks for the comment, Marco! I feel like it’s something many creative people struggle with. I’ve found traveling is a great way to combat it. Cheers!
That was an awsome trip! Glad to see your work always and even better when Bryan hangs out with you, it was great to see him smile.
Haha thanks for watching!
Outstanding work Brae!! 😍👏
Thank you!
Man, all the photos were so good. The photos of the kids were especially awesome. Like someone else mentioned, I’m definitely an introvert as well, so asking people to take photos like that is out of my comfort zone. But man, I really do love photos like that and would love to pursue it more. They’re so impactful and like you said, really tell the story of the town and the people there. Keep killing it with these videos!
Thank you, Ryan! I’ve noticed some days I’ll be much more outgoing with that kind of photography and other days I’m just not able to get that sociable. I think it’ll always be something I find a little difficult to do haha
hell yea great video! you missed box canyon!
Great video Brae! Right in my back yard but haven’t been there!! This makes me want to do it!!!
Thanks Suzanne! Definitely check it out if you can!
@@BraeHunziker going to make a point of it!!
This one’s got the look and feel of a proper series. Awesome work, and some excellent photos as always
Appreciate that, thank you!
Outstanding video, MY FAVORITE pic is the one of the 3 of you gents together, shows the love and passion for PHOTOGRAPHY you guys have! AWESOME vid!
Thank you 🤠
Loved this, man! It was really cool to see y'all together, I hope they'll also share a video of this gathering on their channels!
You did take some pretty awesome shots there, landscapes as well as portraits, I really liked the kids photos, very cool stuff!
Thanks so much man ❤️
Babe wake up, Brae hunziker just dropped a new video
😂
Another brilliant video Brae! I grew up 3 hours south of Ouray and absolutely love how you captured the area👌
Thank you dude 🙏🏻
Amazing video & pics as always! How did you guys find out about the town? I'm gonna do some traveling soon and am wondering how to find towns like these to explore and photograph
Thanks! This was Logan’s recommendation since he lives in Colorado. I usually just pop on to google maps and see click around til I find an area that looks potentially interesting!
so sick!! Let me tag along next time!!
Let’s do it!
What a masterpiece!
Thanks, Michael!
My pet peeve is youtubers putting either bad music in their videos, or getting the wrong music or volume. I really enjoyed the music here, great job. Looking forward to checking out some of your other videos and images.
Well thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Amazing man. Loved it
Thanks Chris!
Brae, beyond incredible work again. ❤
Thanks Danny!
Great video. I love that area. Next time you're there go down the road to Silverton. It's an old mining town. BTW...I really appreciate you listing the music tracks you use in the video. So often I hear great background music but can never get the specifics.
I heard Silverton is sweet. Definitely checking it out next time. Thanks for watching!
I love this! This is one of my favorites. I've said it before -- I really hope to see you making travel documentaries for Discovery Channel, PBS, I don't know who does stuff like that these days, but you know what I mean. These are the videos I have to put up on the big 4K TV to enjoy the amazing cinematography, photography, and your production. I'm glad you mentioned the kid photos at the end. As soon as I saw those, I thought how those kids were going to treasure having these pictures as they get older in all stages of their lives. Awesome video. I like the style of the production video first, followed by the editing room commentary. I feels like when you used to buy one of those "director's cut" DVDs that had extras added on to the feature film like that. Super cool idea. Cheers! 🍻
Thank you, Bob! Appreciate ya watching on the tv. That’s cool to hear 🤠
Was super pumped that those photos turned out, that was a cool moment. Cheers sir! 🍻
Amazing as always
Thank you!
The grade on the motion footage is just 🤌.
Thanks Phil!
@@BraeHunziker Not to distract from the photography, which is also, of course, outstanding.
I have the same probably Brae. None of my close friends share any type of creative interest in photography as I do! it's always so hard to go out and shoot when it's just you. any tips? great vid man. I'm actually coming out to Washington for a week so I'm excited to document my travels!
I’ve found that landscape photography is actually very enjoyable all on my own, so I like getting outside for a hike or something like that. But sometimes it’s just nice to be surrounded by likeminded people. Just trying to balance it the best I can I suppose haha
Awesome shots!
Thank you!
Absolutely stunning. How in the world did you ever put a pin on this location???
Thanks! That was all Logan’s call!
If you would have come back with a SINGLE photo, the boys on the bikes (foot on the wood) it would have been a successful trip.
Brae, I ain’t blowing smoke, that photograph was Arbus, Lange or Weston strong.
Oh, and my wife says thanks for not having crappy music. I watch some RUclips channels from CA photographers and she struggles.
Haha thanks very much, Greg. Glad you and your wife can enjoy these vids together.
I was really excited about that photo, pumped it came out 🤠 cheers!
Bloody brilliantly captured and told. Was endeared to your content since the episodes w your Dad. Secretly stalking Brian also due to sheer unique style. and Logan..what to say...miss being cheeky in his comments section. You're all 3 sincere storytellers and admirable. Wankers...but admirable wankers. Cheers ~ Peter
Haha thank you Peter, glad you enjoyed!
Amazing part of the US, and some fantastic photographs. In my personal opinion, I think you slightly overdid the orange/teal grading on the video.
Perfect 🙌🏽
Thank you!
Great video!
Thanks James!
I also struggle with not having any friends that don’t share the same creative hobbies as I do. It can be a real drag at times. If anyone here lives in Pittsburgh let’s go out for a photo walk sometime 🤙🏻
Haha if ur not in LA that’s how it goes I guess
Such a great trip. Where should we go next?
The gang goes international
another great one man :)
Thank you :)
been waiting on this one
❤️
I’m curious how and what you film yourself on for your static video shots you take. Do you have someone with you or is camera on a tripod?
I throw the camera on a tripod!
03:15 🥀
Haha close call
@@BraeHunzikerjust repeat n look bryan's face 😮
I can’t get over how much this guy looks like a sexy Macaulay Culkin
Brae, please make your LUTS on this video for sell. Thank you
insane production quality so fuckin good man keep it up.
Man the color grading is always so damn good in your videos!!!!
Thank you!
