I've made my own soy milk and tofu. I have a Blendtec (or you can use a Vitamix) and after cooking the soybeans, I blend it and the okara mixes almost smooth...no need to separate it. I love the soy milk while hot and fresh made.
While the tofu is still warm, after being pressed, you can eat it fresh. Just mix a spoon of soy sauce and a bit of brown sugar to dip it in. Delicious.

Nigari is magnesium chloride. It's made from sea water. When you add it to soy milk it coagulates - and this is what's pressed and makes tofu.

Nigari is magnesium chloride. You can also us calcium sulfate - just make sure it's food grade. Amazon sells nigari as do several on-line stores - Google soya joy.

My ex boyfriend is Japanese. He learn to make the soy milk from his mother. He just soak the beans over night. Then wash it and cook it in a pressure cooker for 20 minutes with loads of water. After cooked, he separates the beans from the water. The water is the milk. To make the tofu we just need to add lemon in the milk, that is on heat.

Star Cat That is pretty cool! Tbh, I haven't had tofu since I was 4 (ten years ago) and ever since I've been trying to find a way how to make them. some say it's a long process then some can do it simple like your ex. :-) '3'
