When I look at today's so called star footballer's, I think of John Charles, and smile. None of them hold a candle to the great man. He was without doubt the best player to ever grace a football field.
@@shaka7594 Well, people in the know would disagree with you, but it's all a matter of opinion. Charles would be the first name on my team sheet, and the four you mention would also get a game.
Fancy it getting to such a state that good ole establishment britain were poised to jail such a gentle , kind , HONEST , polite , courteous , GENTLEman like Mr.Charles. Well played Silver of Mighty Leeds. My dad hated soccer. Rugby I had to play. We even moved from Mumbles to Llanelli. A HUGE rugby town. But even my dad would say " Great player. He's no soccer player. Should be playing rugby with a frame like and skill like that" I reckon he was right too. Mr.Charles would of made a world class inside centre.
I saw the great man playing for Leeds against Portsmouth at Fratton Park in 1957 when I was a lad and I have never seen a player so dominant in a game since. He was playing centre forward and he just tore the Pompey defence apart in their 2 - 5 victory. Wonderful.
I was too young to remember the great man initially, but was present at his return to Leeds. Though things didn't seem to work out, for me, a 15 year old, I still rated Big John as a fantastic player. Evan today, I still miss him

5:38 against Hungary was a group 3 playoff to go to the Quarter Finals because they were level on points. 6:07 It was the Quarter Finals that Wales lost against Brazil, not the semis as the narrator stated.
Quite comfortably the most underrated player of all time. Never been another like him.

Haa Haa Haaaa , love that exchange lads. I'd chuck Cloughy in there too. Why ? Look at the fellas goal striking rate before his leg break. Top class.
Torino still remember and love you! Gentle Giant
Thank you for downloading. When it's said that he was the best ever, I wouldn't argue.
He was much loved by many, what a great human being , sad I was too young not to see him in full flight!

Will always be a Juventus legend, Loved and missed. IL Gigante Buono.
What a lovely man... wished I could have seen him play
If the Italians respect you as a footballer, that means you're class.
He was the greatest player I ever saw on the field.
Lucky

The greatest Welsh footballer in living memory.

Well said. Get it right innit.
Legend ! !
This is my living room 👍
È stato un grandissimo
A Star.
The best Welsh footballer of all time. Not Bale. Not Giggs. JOHN CHARLES!
Arsenal's 'big sleep' would have been over if they'd have signed him. They already had Kelsey. None greater from the UK IMO.
El Gigantio!
Leeds had a fire and one of the stands burnt down, that's why john was sold at that time .
This is my house.
very sloppy research.wales didnt reach the semi final of the 1958 world cup it was the quarter final
