Hey Summer Lee! Just want to tell you that you rock and I really appreciate all of your helpful videos and gorgeous patterns. I love your colourwork and have found your socks totally inspiring. You really helped bring me joy during the pandemic. I have mastered the vanilla sock with a nice rounded toe (yay!) and am now venturing into stripes. Loving exploring all of the wild and stunning sock yarns that I'm ordering from all over the world to build sock collections based on your patterns for all the special people in my life. So much fun!!! Thank you!!!! xoxo
I'm knitting my second pair socks using your Zebra Gum pattern and I knit the first pair without this tutorial and sewing in the ends and the jogs were a pain but I've since been knitting away on the second pair using your tips and its going so much smoother and faster. im so excited. Thank you both for the wonderful pattern and the awesome tutorial and tips.
I've been using a lot of self striping yarn but have been looking for an easy way to make my own stripes using mini skein sets. You are a great teacher, very clear and make me feel like I can indeed do this. Ty!
Thank you for making & sharing this. I have woven in ends after adding a color, but never thought to weave in ends BEFORE using the yarn for striping, THEN weaving in ends of yarn I was finished with. It worked brilliantly! My striped socks look perfect. Your method broke up the monotony of knitting many inches of stockinette stitch with fingering weight yarn & best of all no masses dangling ends to weave in after socks were knitted.
I love these tips. I just learned that flick method while doing color work. I love stripes but working in all the ends has held me back. Looking forward to trying out your tips. ❤
Thanks for another great tutorial, it's looks easy when you do it and your explanation is good too. I have not tried color work or stripes, I will though and this is a very good tutorial to have in my tool belt. Thank you again
You are such a good teacher! Your close up shots add such clarity. It looks like you are no longer doing videos. Maybe sometime you will make some more. Thank you!
I would love to see this demonstrated for continental knitters. I don’t know if it would be possible. Surely there’s a way! I may have to try and play around myself and see if I can figure out a way. No more ends to weave in, would be so great. I guess I could always change my knitting style for the colour change over and then go back to continental. Thank you Summer for the demonstration and inspiration.
I had the same thought, as a "scooping" continental knitter. These videos show it in action: ruclips.net/video/Kh3FllRXpcA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/lWiLptgqolw/видео.html
I’ve been knitting socks for years and learned so many wee tips from your video. Thank you. I would love to know how you measure your yarn. How you know how many colours you’ll need and how you divide it up for each sock. I’m trying to use up leftover yarn. Thank you. X
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. I use a lot of Felici yarn which is stripped that I can’t get them to match no matter how hard I try. I usually knit 64 stitches on nine inch circular needles or DPN’s .
I really appreciate these tips, especially moving the eor to the middle. I think it’s a little more fiddley on toe up, but dry manageable. I would very much like to know how you knit one row stripes. One pair of your socks in the intro has several one row stripes in between other stripes and that’s what I’m particularly interested in. If you happen to have it available somewhere, please let me know where. Thanks again for the tips and this info if it’s available
QUESTION, when making scrappy socks, do you have to consider fiber blends as well as weight? Can you have a scrap of merino/nylon, & another of bfl / nylon, and another yak/silk, & maybe another a cotton blend, they're all fingering. I went through a phase of experimentation with various fiber blends. , of course i understand hand wash, always
What a great tutorial! Sometimes I’m struggling with stripes! And I’m knitting for a while now. Not professional but quite good. And stripes are driving me crazy 😂
A great three for one here. Thank you so much for a very clear and concise tutorial. Just found you and anxious to start on your new patterns release that I purchased yesterday. Any suggestions for where to purchase sock yarn in solid colors other than Stroll yarn from Knit Picks in 50 grams?
Thanks for the tip I had been slipping the first stitch and will give this ago. Curious. What is you don’t reposition for the heel? I kinda feel it won’t matter I knit TAAT and it’d be a hassle to readjust. Thoughts?
Pleease help - whenever I try to do this, I end up with both colors on the needle. I have tried this every which way but for some reason the 'flicking' yarn never ends up in the back where you can't see it. What am I doing wrong?
excellent! Will do my striping this way - next time! now back to weaving in 100 ends 🥴
Great tips - thanks for sharing! Thanks also for using colors that are easy to see against your background.
Hello dear how are you doing today?
Thanks for the great tutorial! Love how you describe the “flick” when you knit over the previous yarn end! It’s now imprinted in my memory!! 🥰💖
Thank you for these great tips!! Any wait to utilize these cool techniques!
Hello dear how are you doing today?
This is a great tutorial. Thanks.

Thank you!! I’ve been too intimidated to ever make anything with multiple colours of yarn. 😝

Loved this video! Do you move BOR when starting foot?
Hi! Love your tutorials. Please can you tell me which make of circular you use for magic loop? Thank you. J.
These look like Chiaogoo Twist needles to me

pro tip : watch series at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching loads of movies lately.
@Ryker Camden yup, I have been watching on flixzone for months myself :D
@Ryker Camden yup, have been using Flixzone for months myself :)
@Ryker Camden definitely, I have been using flixzone for years myself :)
Hi Summer. What heel do you use in your shorty sock patterns? The construction is perfect for my feet and was just wondering the proper name. Thanks!

Hi. I Can’t find the free basic sock pattern anywhere?
Does this work if you knitting with 2 circulars? I knit 2 at a time on 2 circulars. Toe up, 16 inch.
trying to envision how I would move BOR like this when doing TAAT magic loop🤔

The same is happening with me 😩
❤
This is very difficult to get when I do a europain knitting
