    Excellent video explaining the regulations man :) also great app recommendation. I was just using the DJI map, but it doesn't outline the densely populated areas like this one does. I'll definitely be using it in the future!

      I've heard similar things from others about the DJI app. Glad it was helpful!

    Hey mate, thanks for the info. I'm heading to Mt Fuji next Friday/Saturday. Theoretically, I still need to register my Mavic Air 2 via the website, then I should be able to freely use it around Mt Fuji, since its not a densely populated area? I can also keep it within 150m height, if I have to. Is that all, or do I need/need to do more? Thanks

      As long as you’re not a densely inhabited area, near a power plant, or top secret facility, you should have no problem.

      @@weeklyfascination Thank you. But I still need to register it right, since its heavier than 100g? I just applied this morning, hopefully they approve it by next Saturday!

      Yes, you still need to register it.

    Hi, thanks for your video. You are not mentioning anything about the permitted maximum weight of the drone. Even in the safe areas I expect the drone might not exceed a certain weight for flying without submitting a flight plan or requesting take off approval?

      Reading over the Operation Limitations here: www.mlit.go.jp/common/001369801.pdf
      I don't see any weight limitations.

      @weeklyfascination  10 месяцев назад

      Hello, and thanks for watching. There are a few places with the same name, Kamikochi in different prefectures; Fukushima, Nagano, and Tochigi. Please let me know which Kamikochi you will be visiting and I will try to find more precise information.
      Usually, flying a drone above public parks is prohibited so it might not be possible.

    thank you.
    How far away do I need to stay away from smaller airports ???
    300 meter, 1 km, 7 km ??
    Thank you 🙏

      The website for the Ministry or Land, infrastructure, transport, and tourism does not provide a specific distance. Rather, they just say “airspace around airports”. They leave it really open to interpretation.

      I checked the drone map app, and the area around the Kawaguchi golf course looks ok. But you'll probably need to get permission from the golf course. If you keep going Northwest beyond Akigase Park, there are some places you can fly. However, from Adachi-ku to Tokyo Bay is all restricted.

    still wondering : nothing was mentioned about a
    drone license -> because
    some other Drone schools
    online mentioned that a
    license is necessary or at least within the next
    coming month.
    In that case all the drone money would be worthless.
    Thank you 🙏

      As far as I know, there is no license requirement. There is a big boom of drone schools, and they might hint that you need a license to fly so they can sell courses. Stay tuned, things are changing all the time.
      If there is an official announcement, I'll post something.

      He is correct, as of now, you do not need a drone license. But there is a licensure system, which was revised December 5th of last year. I went to a local drone school and HAD a LOT of questions. Mainly concerning commercial use. Basically, if you fly in area D (not close to an airport, not in a DID, not closer than 30m away from people or buildings, below 150m/500ft., and flying during the day), you don't need permission to fly recreationally or for commercial use (provided you're also not invading people's privacy with your footage in some way).
      Regarding the licensure system: you take a written test, a practical skills test, and have a physical medical examination to make sure you're healthy enough to operate the drone. There is Level 2 certification and then Level 1 certification (this is the highest). If you get level 2 certification, your options expand. (Basically you no longer need permission to fly above 150m, fly at night, fly in a DID, fly closer than 30m away from buildings or people). But all this assumes you're operating the drone safely. This is getting long. So I'll cut it here. I suppose the drone schools are popping up because of the licensure system which has come online.
