I came to Japan from South Africa. No two countries could be more different in virtually every aspect. After a year, I lost 20kg. Then I started to become more organized, less aggressive, and miraculously my mathematical ability went through the roof 😅 I regard this country as a life changing and life saving influence on my existence that I couldn't possibly forget even if I wanted to. I know about the bad things too, don't worry - but the good things are just so good...

Wow glad to hear someone else finding a similar experience as me. Good to hear you got les aggressive I think people here in general are not aggressive as I have never seen a fight in Japan.. Just out of curiosity are you still in Japan and could not agree more that the good things are so good.

You don't have to say goodbye to Netherlands 100% - there's always Huis Ten Bosch near Nagasaki if you miss home lol.

Great and insightful video! I believe there is no right or wrong culture, the only correct state is the state of balance. And even balance have to be disrupted from time to time for better change to occur. That's just the nature of this universe. Having said that, everyone has a place (the best place they can ever be) on this planet and I hope you are finding yours in Japan.

@@goldenmoonhorizon4086 thank you so much! I think that it's important for us to search where we are most happy 😊. I think for me I can say I live a more balanced life where the highs are higher and not so many lows😁 really thank you for the awesome comment!

Man the character for kyūsyoku/school meal is 給食 instead of 虚飾 (kyosyoku) that actually means something along the lines of 'ostentatiousness'😂😂😂

@@Yoromeki_kuzure haha yeah my girlfriend told me it was wrong, since I’m not that far in my kanji studies I just look up things online sometimes the internet is wrong, can you believe it😳😀😂😝. Thanks for the comment!

Japanese schools have dedicated nutritionists crafting the school meals. America has lobbyists who convinced Congress to declare that pizza can count as a vegetable in american school cafeterias.

@@noseboop4354 the meals are so healthy, I have to say though I wouldn’t know about the situation in the USA myself. It’s important that we give good food to the children of the future!

Japan obviously did good for you danny. You look energetic and healthy. Japanese people are very respectful, polite and so hygienically (clean). Those where my experiences. And communication is sometimes a bit awkward specially when not speaking english, they somehow try to ignore you haha.

Haha I would say you are correct 💯 it can become awkward very soon. I also found though that people who try are usually very open to talk 🦜, but don't really go in dept

My opinion from everything I've seen is that there are almost equal positive and negative aspects to being over there vs here. I love that over there they value things I feel Deep inside I wish I could value more things that would definitely help me to grow. However I still have a difficult time with individualism to collectivism, I think it's important to have your own opinion, maybe not expressing it so much but having it. Idk I'm still very in the middle, the societal shaming is the biggest no for me from the east but the individual Narciso is my biggest no from the west. Sorry just letting out some thoughts

No I definitely feel like you are saying some wise things. Having no opinion is very hard to get around since at some point the people can get over as dishonest or you don't know if they are telling you their real thoughts I think that's more it. I would say that the nature here has made the most difference in how I feel😊. Thanks for the comment Justin
