Alex has now played with the 2 BEST drummers of ALL time!!
Bonzo could do with a single drum what Danny does with his whole kit and I love Carey and Peart both
@@russellayers3408 Stupid comment, for real. Danny is a far better drum technically. Grow up bro
@@bradwest4821why? Because he plays polyrthyms and sticks to basic African influence patterns. If you've ever played drums a day in your life you would understand that this shit is not complicated
The fact that Lerxst plays the whole fucking song with them is awesome. Not just a quick solo cameo, the full fucking song!
Slight correction. Plays 1.5 songs with solos!
What is a Lerxst?
@@5urg3xhe meant Alex
Very underrated guitarist.
@@bitter37 you think so? I feel like he’s well recognized as one of the GOAT’s
the way Adam just stands there like an expressionless robot just cracks me up haha
Alex Lifeson in his natural habitat - Playing guitar in the best prog rock band currently in existence.
Lerxst is a boss
I’m just blown away by this!! So happy because Alex has been really depressed ever since the passing of NP, and so were many of us RUSH fans. The fact that he is playing up there with Tool is a a small sign of better things to come!!
Great moment!! As a LONGTIME Rush fan, I was yelling 'Alex' at the top of my lungs at the beginning & end! Just to hear/see him join Tool for this mashup of two amazing songs was the highlight of an awesome night!! Thanks for sharing - my phone was in my pocket.
😂almost perfectly at 4:20 too GOOD GOD ADAM & ALEX are the monsters of effects, tonality and timing. Not to mention power and heavy rhythm🎸🎸🎸
Love how they weaved some Passage to Bangkok in there.
Once again my two favorite bands get together. Thank you for risking getting tossed from the arena by recording this moment!
So cool…going to see Tool in 3 weeks..ironically AT the same arena I saw my first Rush concert WAY BACK in 1984🤔🤯🤘🖖✌️🎸🎤🎸🥁
No matter how you record this, it does not beat being there and witnessing the energy in a TOOL concert. It is truly unique.
I still keep waiting for Cold and Ugly to kick in after that intro lol
well if that shit doesn't just warm my heart.
I have to admit, that moment at the end choked this old bastard up a bit.
I was there on the 20th and I could not believe every second it went on. My jaw was, literally, open the entire time. Total magic. A gift from the beyond I never would have looked for. Never thought I'd get to see anyone from Rush, let alone at a Tool show.
Hells Yeah that’s how you play “A Passage to Bangkok”❤️🤘🖖✌️🥁🎸🎤🎸
I've experienced the Bangkok solo recorded more times than I can count and live thrice (once from the front row about 12' from Alex); but, this here is the cleanest & most expressive instance of it that I've ever heard from Alex. He utterly nailed it, as did Adam with the rhythm part, showing all just how perfectly guitar can be done. What a moment!
Danny Carey blows me away every time, the power he brings is just... wow
Alex and TOOL!!!! OMG!!! Wait.....am I dead ? am I in heaven? It's better than they said it would be!!!! TOOL and RUSH simply Rule!
Wow! I can't think of a single thing to say, I'm just standing here dazed.
Chills
By far the best footage of this EPIC moment in Prog rock. The mighty Tool and Alex Lifeson on stage. Holy moly 🔥🔥🤘🤘
Everyone loves Alex. :) :)
They shoulda played third eye. Lifeson ranked it among his all time favorite tracks.
An epic moment in time..rock gods converge..
Hey Alex, come jam with us tonight...we'll start with something easy..Jambi only has 22 time signature changes, it'll be great! And it was...
Don´t forget about the weird technique of the riff, it gave me the biggest blister of my life
That's the great thing about Alex. He's so good and Rush was so complex that he can just fucking do anything. He's that effortless
The best view I've seen so far. Only a handful of drummers could do an admirable job of filling in for the GOAT, Danny Carey is one of them. Saw them Sunday in Montreal for the second time, helluva show.
goes to show, just how much love Tool will forever give to the almighty RUSH... just three dudes who wanted to rock with everyone else, but blew em out the water without trying, and all the while being humble about it
Alex is on fire! Love it when he jams out and hope we see more of him on stage again!
The very notion of Tool and Rush joining forces - One of progrock greatest could-have-beens.
As I stated somewhere else, I don’t think there is a venue that will accommodate the legions of people to go see that show.
Legends. All of them
4:40 -excellent camera work ;)
LOL
Those are some saggy cans
Thanks for sharing this! Very cool!
thanks for sharing! ✌🧡
I was there for this and it was amazing❤
I’m thankful for the video but the camera guy had an opportunity to record one of the best TooL concert videos out there and he’s all over the place with the camera 🤷♂️
There’s a good one on here but it’s not the whole song lol
No man, hes looking down cuz security was around and looking at the lights because that's what we were all doing. Tool doesn't want you to post videos like this because it just cannot capture whats happening. If you weren't there you definitely think I'm exaggerating and that's exactly the point. Show was fuckin wild haha like a cyberpunk mothership. And security was throwing people out left and right, this guy actually did a good job, its impossible to film from the floor and very, very risky from the lower bowl where this guy was. It's possible he got kicked out after this lol. But ultimately it's not a good video, tool doesn't care that you try and leak the show, they care that your cellphone video will make it look lame, it's a masterpiece. It's a complete reversal of every other entertainers no filming policy. They aren't hiding the material, they just know cameras cannot do it any justice
El respeto que le muestran todos a Alex al finalizar la canción. 🥹🤘
I have been watching tool live since the early 90s. I have never had the opportunity to live mix them, and would not do it if asked !! I am way too much of a fan to risk fucking anything up, but do the festival circuit USA, UK, and Australia, NZ, North and South endless summer and have mixed some awesome bands but Danny is my absolute idol as a (30-year drummer hack ). No matter whether album or live his kit sound and set-up are spot on and more complex than the electronics in space x unmanned reusable bloody space craft !! I never get over how powerful his drum sound is, the bass drum physically hits your guts and feels like it is going to push you over I shit you not the sound waves physically hit your body 😮.
Incredible; two of my favorite guitar players sharing the stage!
Possibly one of the better footage of this moment. I tried to film, but the couple in front of me had to talk close to each other, blocking the camera.
OMG RUSH and TOOL are my faves! instant sub!
I need more cowbell!!!!!
Wow, just wow.
i was there!
So fuking cool!!!🤙🏽🤘🏽💀
Incredible performance, Tool Need repeat this ..
Congratulations from Chile .
Steve Hackett in the house of Tool 🔥🔥🔥
Really regret not a getting a ticket.
I got to see Tool perform early this month but this would have been something special. Rush is amazing but I never got to see them live.
Tool is as good as Rush was, better in fact if you like them(or their music)better.
I saw Rush once on the R40 tour and Tool 3 times on the last tour. Both are incredible
Awesome video!
The great master!!!!!
Oh Yeah!! Yes! That was EPIC!
This was awesome!!!
that was cool!
Great sound for a phone, thanks for posting!
Too many Rock Gods for one stage 🤘😮
So cool!
The sound on Tuesday night was maybe the best I've ever heard
I was there! Row 4 in the middle.
So. Fucking. Good.
Holy fuck
Alex playing "A passage to Bangkok" solo 🙂🙂
The Boys Alex and Geddy want to get back on stage and play so BAD .. Thee will be a RUSH reunion
No.
They may play out but they won’t call it Rush.
He could have said no. RUSH comeback with Carey as the drummer is happening.
I always thought of 2112, Cygnus x1,etc. As Toolish Rush songs.
There was a song on Rush’s last album that I thought sounded like they were influenced by Tool.
@@MDK2_Radio what song??
@@Chasing_SolitudeI know the song Earthshine from Rush Vapor Trails the intro sounds like Parabola but that wasn’t Rush’s last album but it might interest you to hear it. I’ve always thought of Parabola the riff near the end after the line “all this pain is an illusion “ when I hear the intro riff to the Rush song.
🤟😎👍
Alex is like... ah kid stuff
Que sonho
They have both been talking about New Rush music. I think they may have found their drummer.
No. Danny stays with Tool! 😂
@@SwaybackJack new Tool album will be soon. Justin said so 🥹.
But yeah, agree. They could record a new Rush or do a tour in trio with Danny.
Would be amazing!
@@SwaybackJack😂yes, 3 new Rush albums and 6 worldwide tours, back in time for the next Tool project🔧
No, “they” haven’t been talking about new Rush music. Idiot.
Those who want Danny to join Rush are tools.
No way
No way I’m keeping whatever cool I have left at that point
Brought to you by BASS GUITAR BLUB BLUB B
cool
Great work at filming anything but Alex
Did you not get enough attention as a 10 year old?
@@bradwest4821 ADHD is rampant
Hints? What is to come. Maybe?
I like the way Alex drops his pick and the other guitarist bows down and retrieves his old one and gets him a new one... Alex just wanted to see if he would do it.... and he did.:)
Master vs Padawan lol
😂 didactic & narpet
This is so confusing without seeing it since they're both named Alex
@@Ryan-bj2vl Tool guitarist is Adam Jones.
coming to woo Danny into playing with them
I understand that Mike Mangini or Jay Weinberg are available
I feel like Danny is the best choice over any of those guys including Portnoy
RUSH is done. They won't continue without Neil.
Incredible show! Thank you for bootlegging and helping me re live this deeply sacred psychedelic life event. You did a great job! Boot legging ain’t easy! Thanks for being a rebel! ❤👽🛸🛠🔩🔨
Haha what an embarrassing cheer at the beginning. Be better Toronto.
I'm still pissed Adam didn't play the talkbox.
Someone didn’t listen when Maynard said to put your phone away, live in the moment and share the journey together.
Right!! I was there and I looked at mine only during intermission. It was actually nice to see a show without screens in my way
Fuck Maynard. I'd fall asleep during a tool show now. They packed it in a while ago
We’re all the better that people recorded this, including yourself who watched it.
@@jaysondzikowski2924guessing you’ve never been to a tool concert noob
what was it that they played after that pause mid song?
A Passage to Bangkok. Rush. Farewell to Kings album, 1977
thx@@davework13
@@davework13I think it's from 2112.
It's Passage to Bangkok off 2112. So many idiots in the room... sigh... @@TheNonautomatoN
@bradwest4821 I was trying to say it gently. Haha
Danny Carry 😅
What’s with the vocals… you can actually hear mjk
Wow. Maynard really phoned this one in. He's just there for the check. I guess he'd rather be making wine.
Nah, I was there. He sounded great the whole night. Better the first night by a mile, but still far better than when I first saw them in 2019. He barely spoke to the crowd then. He jokes around a lot more now.
@@royalkuhnt8216I heard that he's very particular about the crowds that he interacts with. Like if he doesn't like the crowd's energy, or if he's just in a bad mood, he'll just face the wall for the whole set and won't say one word to the crowd aside from singing the lyrics.
@coreyschultz6575 I've seen them 6 times. Only time he was so low energy was 2019 before covid hit. After covid I've seen him joke around frequently, even if he didn't seem enthusiastic about the crowd. You can tell when he enjoys the crowd or is in a good mood, but he has done a better job of making it lately it seems
Lol how many times this have to be repeated...it's a cell phone it's not gonna pick up great audio. He killed it at the mohegan last month
Imagine being asked to keep your phone away but then still recording
I was at this concert. It really frustrates me that people make videos when the artist asks you not to and even says you can record the last song all you want (it was 46 and 2).
No fucking way I'm on the floor (row 20) and whipping a camera out. It's an experience of a lifetime be present in the moment guys. It was eveything. Fuck your phones.1
And I get it. It's cool that this got shared with people and yes it's amazing that people get to see Alex absolutely shred. But like its a fucking phone recording and shits on how almost transcendental their playing is. Idk i guess it just bothers me.
People live fake ass lives through social media. They even want to see real life filtered through the phone screen.
I can’t stand most people on earth like some disaffected teenager grown old. However, as I’ve aged and grown wiser I’ve learned to not give a flying fuck about the fools. I look around at a Tool concert and there are a bunch of people feeling it. Immersed in the music and performance. Those are my people. The sheep to keep me warm in my herd. The greatest thing is that I never pushed any certain music on my kids but my 8 year old’s favorite song is Jambi and he used it as his walk out song in baseball.
Let the losers and the posers miss out.
P.S. I clicked on this video because I assumed it was an official recording. It sucks ass.
the lasst song was stinkfist???? soo iunno what concert you were at
Tuesday night was Forty Six & 2
whats the big deal with not recording, Maynard should grow up.
Ive seen tool a couple of times and i do love that 99% of people have their phones away the whole show, but i am grateful for the couple of people who nonintrusively record the shows for others and myself to enjoy in the future.
TOOL like to front the Satanic crap, but most of their music in one way or another, describe holy and spiritual situations, encounters and circumstances.
We're in a spiritual war in these times.
It's not Satanic, read up on them a little more.
What 'Satanic' crap are you on about?! Nothing in their entire catalogue points in that direction!
Alex is too good for this
@@user-uf8cb5do1k Danny Carey is an average drummer, Peart was one of the best. Carey is like every other metal shill drummer who was influenced by Peart and Bonzo, Peart was a pioneer and a genius.
