You Can Win NT$3,000 By Beating This Taiwanese Siew Mai Dumpling Eating Record Challenge!!

American professional eater Randy Santel versus the Taiwanese Siew Mai Dumpling Eating Record Challenge hosted by 基隆帶筋肉羹 in Keelung City of northern Taiwan in East Asia!! My girlfriend ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬ and I left Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam in Southeast Asia and flew to Taipei, Taiwan where I attempted 3 delicious Taiwanese competitive eating challenges around the greater Taipei metro area, including Keelung City in northern Taiwan. For food challenge #1, we headed to 基隆帶筋肉羹 in Keelung City which is known for hosting a very popular Taiwanese Siew Mai Dumpling Eating Record Challenge. Each of the Siew Mai dumplings weighed 2 ounces total and were filled with minced pork, fish, and lots of tasty Asian seasonings. The base challenge is just to finish 30 of the two ounce dumplings within the 30 minute time limit. Winners receive their NT$360 meal free plus a spot on the Wall of Fame. There is also an additional dumpling eating record challenge where you can try to break the current record for shumai dumplings eaten within the 30 minute limit. When I tried, the record was at 55 dumplings, so I needed to eat 56 two ounce Siew Mai dumplings to win not only my meal free and the top spot on the Wall of Fame, but also NT$3,000 cash!! BIG thanks to the wonderful and accommodating owners and everyone with 基隆帶筋肉羹 in Keelung City, Taiwan for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!!
