- I told my friends/co-workers that "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" by Panic At the Disco is one of the best white boy songs I've ever heard. Now they're sending me song suggestions and I'm doing live reactions here.
Check out Patreon.com/RobTV if you wanna support and/or guarantee song requests. Shoutout to Kev for this one. Much love to all the RUclips family!
Has anyone asked Korn what "influence" they were under at the end of this song btw? Lmao
Rabbit junk: Relentless,
or if you want their harder stuff,
Break Shins to This or What Doesn't Kill you Makes You a Killer
it was meth, lots of meth involved in the earlier albums xd
@@thepersonwithaface45 you deadass serious? 😂😂😂
@@HollywoodRobTV fr, they were on meth but they were on that high dollar breaking bad stuff I assume since they didn't die. theres interviews of them talking about it!
@@HollywoodRobTV On their first album they had a song called "Helmet in the Bush." That's a reference to the erectile dysfunction caused by using meth. They used a lot of it.
Rob: I dunno, it could be more transformative.
Everyone: Just give it a second.
Rob: It's hype, but not, like, *super* hype.
Everyone: Bro. Trust us. One second.
One second later: CERBERUS BEATBOX.
😂😂😂😂💯💪🏾
@@HollywoodRobTV legit, I was roaring laughing knowing what was coming and you being super unaware of what you were about to experience, it was gold. 😆🤣😅 lol Thank you for all the smiles with your videos.
Lmao My thoughts, precisely.
@@thecovertelement5910 lmfao much love and thanks for checking them out!
Exactly what I was saying man 🤣 I'm like just hold up a second man.
Korn was one of the pioneers of the Nu-Metal genre which blended alot of hip hop and heavy rock and metal
You need to do "Falling Away From Me" by Korn, next! Keep em coming man, best reaction channel on RUclips!
Rob saying it needed a change up... right at the cusp of the skat part had me rolling , i'm like yea bud WAIT for it, you so close, then it HITS!.
Hey man keep up what you’re doing! Love how genuine your reactions are!
Bruh, I am absolutely dying at these reactions. Easy subscribe lol
I grew up listening to Korn and I will never outgrow them~💖✨
I don't think I've watched/ listened to the climax of this song with more joy until now. I'm with you on the analysis. But knowing what was coming... Yay.
"Something takes a part of me . . ." "SOMETIMES I CANT TAKE THIS PART OF ME."
You should listen to Beastie Boys - so what'cha want
3 MCs and 1 DJ
"Voldemort, we don't say his name, he's like Robert E. Lee 😁" bro you got me dying over here at 2am with that shi!
I was like Rob " shut the hell up and hit play," its about to change your life. 😂
LMFAO his face at 6:27, and I was just saying if you don't like the melody of the hook you gon' like what comes next
Dude.. if you love freak on a leash because of its hip hop feeling. Your gonna be blown away after hearing “Children of the korn - Korn”
Sooo many great ones.....an amazing rabbit hole to fall in!!!!!
Korn is metal! Metal has a LOT to give and there are many different subgenres. Metal has rap, screaming, and even opera if you look hard enough
This song goes so hard like I can’t
Bro, you have to do Blind live at Woodstock 1999! Crazy
You must watch the music video for this song! Iconic!
Loving this guy saying "f**k you" to the record labels
Speaking of not getting things twisted, you should react to Twist by Korn. Thank you for another great reaction vid!
This is the beginning of new metal 😮😂
You gotta listen to Pantera! Mouth for war, Domination, Regular People, I’m Broken, F**ing Hostile, or Walk are good ones to start on!
You need to dive into their first album, it was their best one.
“The Reflecting God”, Marilyn Manson.
6:24 You know the song is good when he looks like he just smelled a fart.
best song ever
I think you'll dig the Nu Metal genre in general, its a fusion of Metal and Hip Hop. Korn is peak Nu-Metal.
I was thinking the same thing. Some of my favorite bands i grew up with were Nu Metal, Korn in particular. Maybe Rob would like the transitions in Make Me Bad, if you want even more of a rap element Children of the Korn with Ice Cube is a sleeper on Follow the Leader in my opinion.
not necessarily just rap and metal. there's also funk jazz and reggae influence. not every nu metal band has rap. (hed) p.e. is the first rap nu metal band
Agreed he seems to dig it big time..
@@metalmike6668 You are totally right on that point
Korn is Nu Metal/Alternative Metal
It’s not about sex & drugs. It’s about the music industry & how they take advantage of the artists. Jonathan pours his life & heart & soul into his music but all they care about is , are we making money?
Wow 💀 well that changes the experience even though I already enjoyed it lol. I appreciate the breakdown. I’m usually good about picking up the metaphors smh!
@@HollywoodRobTV to be fair, it's hard to pick up the metaphor in this song. The saying Y'all Wanna Single is a more direct middle finger to the industry, and video for Twisted Transistor makes all kinds of fun of the industry.
I mean, it's a double entendre so it's kind of both.
@@caseysivard4070 thats for sure haha
That and being controlled by the music industry, not being allowed to be yourself. You have to fit the mold and do what they tell you.
"demonic beatbox" is the best description of that part I've heard so far
spot on
Agreed. Perfect. I had a friend in like 97 say the same thing. I totally forgot till he said it
Demonic, no i wouldn't say that. I feel like primal describes it better
Facts. This Robtv guy is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
bro youre profile pic is the snake from black album but white. thats cool bro!
Korn's genre is "Nu Metal" ...heavily influenced by hip hop... 👍 do "Falling Away From Me" next
LOTs of drugs they did...
Not just hip hop. Korn mixed their shit up with jazz and funk too.
I was referring to Nu Metal as a genre in general...@@Denny_Boi
Bro, the fact that you ask for a dope switch up right at 5:45, right before they’re about to go into a hard ass bridge makes me smile for what’s coming to you. I was in high school when this came out. Looking forward to the next couple minutes of your reaction hahah 😂
Right? He said that and I was like "he gone learn."
Same asf I was smiling so hard
Korn has some of the crunchiest bass lines. Shit just vibrates your spine
I'd like your comment x10 if I could. KoRn is my Somatic ❤
1000%
I remember metal music fans buying subwoofers for their cars for the first time around this era
Perfect bass mixing really, it slaps
"Falling Away From Me" is essentially the sequel to this song.
Only the music video, not the song itself lol
Falling away from me is essential Korn listening
Ive never heard someone compare Voldemort to Robert E. Lee
LMAOOOOOO
And it was a good comparison lol
Based.
Based
I don't know how anyone could hate this song, still sounds so fresh and unique after all these years. Ball Tongue is one of my favorites by them, really almost anything from their self titled album hits
I hate it, and mostly everything Korn has put out. I dislike Jonathan Davis's voice and the way the production on their songs are done. I hate the tone of the bass as well on most of their stuff.
Any hate I had for Korn is a byproduct of being peer pressured into disliking them by other kids in middle school because “that’s not real metal.”
@@jimchilczuk4128 without bands like corn modern metal wouldn't be using 7, eight, nine strings or baritones or detuned guitars
@@jimchilczuk4128 ah does that make you special?
@@jimchilczuk4128no todos tenemos buenos gustos
I just saw them do this song live in Las Vegas in front of 65,000 people last weekend, it was AMAZING!!! First time seeing them live...
That’s dope as heck. 65,000 😳! I know the crowd was hype af
I was there too! Korn is always so good live
I was there too. Maybe the best night of my life
I was there!!! Korn and System of a Down killed it 🔥🔥🔥
I am old and so NuMetal was my kids music, I kind of just ignored it. A few years back they were at Aftershock and I was headed out and they came on stage, and opened with this song. No studio, no fancy shit, just Korn on a stage and they NAILED IT. Every word, every beatbox, the whole damn thing live. I have tix this year and they are back, and you know I am not walking out until they are done this time!
Please watch Korn’s ‘Blind’ at Woodstock 99. You’re mind will be BLOWN with that performance. It’s one of the most insane concerts ever.
Sometimes when I’m having a bad day I’ll watch that video. It makes me so happy
I was in the crowd for that one. It was as insane as it looks!! So fun
I feel like Korn must be one of the most misunderstood bands in modern genres. Much of their lyrics invoke a sense of disgust and can turn off most listeners, but, at least to me, Korn has always been about innocence lost and internal suffering that has no proper outlet. Tragedy in life with no end in sight buried by drugs and degeneracy, only to feel greater guilt when you can't find a way out of the cycle. I've never felt like I related to any of Korn's songs, but I still feel the depth.
Just my take on them, and I enjoy seeing others enjoy what I like.
Rob: "I think I would have switched it up at this point by now, you know do something original"...
Everyone else: "wait for it..."
I was waiting for you to hear that breakdown. Yo that was the most hilariously eloquent description. “Cerberus foaming at the mouth” 😂😂😂😂
I saw Korn a lot live when this first came out, that main drop was always pretty brutal in the mosh pits.
The first concert I went to was projekt revolution in 2004. The headliners were Linkin Park, Korn, andd Snoop Dogg. That definitely explains a lot of my music taste today lmao
That was a great show
Great show. I went to 4 project revolution tours and they were all good
You are so entertaining to watch. I enjoy your reviews.
Thanks!
Bro my heart broke when he skipped over the "GO" part with hos bars. Good bars, but I friggin' love it when people lose their shit after Jonathan says "GO"!
If you want your mind blown listen to Pisces by Jinger. Y’all in the comments know what’s up 😜
Korns twisted transistor music video is hilarious. It features some really good cameos. My favourite song when I saw them live was easily shoots and ladders
Not necessarily for a reaction, you have to see this video. Its amazing storytelling. Half animated and half live action.
Video was done by Todd MacFarlane, former Marvel artist and creator of Image Comics and Spawn :)
25 YEAR AGO THIS WHOLE ALBUM WAS GROUND BREAKING !! I remember seeing them in on tour when this album came out. they also get a lot of there influence from 90's west coast gangster rap. that same album they did a song with Ice Cube called Children of The Corn. that whole record was a massive game charger also the album that followed that up was just just as big if not bigger of a game changer. fun fact about this band. They are the band mostly responsible for the craze of the 7 string guitar and made it the go to guitar for a ton of metal bands and guitar players today !
Can confirm.. I own a 7 string because of these guys.
Started rapping on the best part 🤦🏾♂️😅
I always forget how old school korn is funky as hell. I miss it.
Much better editing on this one. Not an overwhelming amount of cutaways. 🐸👍
I'm glad you noticed! Shoutout to my mans Khai. We took you guys' feedback into account
Definitely check out "Black" by SEVENDUST, the Live & Loud version is a turned up concert. It was from thier "Retrospect" DVD that had live footage from a great live performance. I promise this will be one of your new favorite heavy rock groups.
New subscriber here 👍
That Robert E Lee joke just got a like and subscribe from me lol. Dope reaction too.
🤣 idk why my mind even went there. But thanks ✊🏾
Man i really like the fact you state what you like/dont like about the music. Like you feeling the song could do more etc and even other reactions. Love the honesty, especially since a lot of reaction channels just praise everything because theyre scared of backlash. You sir have my respect, basically the only "reaction" channel i watch anymore. Have a blessed day
I’m really hoping of a Pixies - Where is My Mind reaction, chill song, about drugs, sick guitar playing. Seems like a ripe choice
Hurt by Johnny Cash, originally written by Trent Rexnor of NIN but Johnny owns it. You will end in tears.
'twisted transistor' is a must listen to if you enjoy korn imo, my favorite korn song ATM is 'the game is over' off of their album 'the paradigm shift', super slept on song, might make a good video!
The music video for TT would help him understand Korn so much more
TTs music video is so good.
Korn is solidly Nu-Metal, its part of the metal genre but there is sooooooooo much more. Every sub-genre has it's own sound, style and what is tries to really pull from, Nu-Metal places a heavy hand on elements from hip-hop and leans heavier into grunge elements that were big in the late 80s to early 90s.
When you know the bulk of the real actual background history of Johnathan and go back and listen to all of his old songs, his lyrics take on an incredibly jet black and sinister vibe as you read between the lines.
The one word that explains everything is Abuse.
You should check out Megadeth - Holy Wars. IMO, one of the best metal songs of all time.
That guitar solo gives me goosebumps
I just spent 2h watching your reactions, love your takes man. I think I got you figured out with the metal. You like intensity, you like variety, you like tasty guitar riffs, and you like groovy beats. Idk how the hell you been sleeping on Avenged Sevenfold so long, but I got you. "Trashed and Scattered" or "Burn it Down" or "Not Ready to Die" are a few absolute bangers you're missing out on. Hope you like em
Am I the only one who wants to see Rob and Chris Tucker react to some banger track together? 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You haven't HEARD Korn, yet!
Try one of these Korn songs:
"Ball Tongue"
"Good God"
"Ass Itch"
Forget all that radio stuff, dig deeper. And all you pedestrianass radio babies, cut it out with all these mayonnaise requests! Rob's trying to hear some crazy shit, not what the record labels push. Or, keep pressing the walk button and wait for the light.
You vibing to the beat and breaking out a freesty is perfect cause thee band's frontman and singer, Jonathan Davis, once described their sound as "heavy-hop"! Cheers my dude!!
This style of rock is called Nu Metal.. Korn, System of a Down, etc
I'd love to see your reaction to Children Of The Korn ft. Ice Cube, off the same album as Got The Life and Freak On A Leash.
Im 1000% sure the ending part is a spell that reaches into the human soul and pulls out something primal. To this day I have no idea what he's saying but i swear to God i feel that shit lmao
Wanted it to get more hype, and then tries to rap over arguably my favourite drop in NuMetal. I love you man but fuck I could have killed you for that lol
Ghostmane samples the intro/verse part on Bloodshot. Worth a listen.
Man, this is some real quality stuff right here. Genuine reactions, no fluffing stuff up, and such a fun energy. Relatively new subscriber, but I've been watching your backlog of stuff, and you're really killing it. Defs looking forward to whatever you toss out there.
In the realm of recommendations, I think Rammstein's song Mein Herz Brennt would be right up your alley, what with Till's (lead singer) expert vocal inflections, and the dynamic nature of the group's talented instrumentation.
This song is actually really deep, I primarily mean the lyrics. It is very complex and takes a certain kind of thinking. It is about pain, about having to hold back a part of you, believing you would not be accepted for you full self.
It is in a way about fear of being canceled, but instead of RUclips censor going to a mental asylum, jail or similar.
100! Completely agree, I think w/ bands in the early 00s, the music industry rule was like "WE NEED TO REPEAT A - B - A - B" for probable radio / popularity / recognizable / idk for some stupid bullshit reason instead of just letting the artists make the music themselves from the first note to the last
That Bass is fire as fuck, strumming those cords lile he hates them xD
Slayer - Bloodline! Or Some Sepultura - Refuse/Resist.
bro.. i was having a baaaad day. came home and this video really got me in a good mood again. your reactions are funny as shit. KORN FOREVER
The korn iceberg has begun
Rant about drugs and creativity from 7:19 is pure gold my man
I'm telling you, you need to look up the band "Tantric" and I have two songs for you, "The One" is phenomenal for lyrics and voice performance and "Down and Out" for an audio experience you haven't heard yet. You will not regret it!
The next song should be BBK from the same album, BUT.....
Here are the songs korn have eith that heavy scat like in this song:
Twist (it's 50secs long)
BBK
Seed
Worst is on its way
Rotting in vain
You’re one of the few reactors I have notifications on for. You should try Breaking Benjamin “I will not bow”, but really anything from them is 🔥
Rage Against The Machine! There's a lot more you haven't experienced from them.
Wake Up
Down Rodeo
Know Your Enemy...etc.
ACTUALLY! Imagine slamming your foot into something and you can again come up with that Cerebus beatbox bullshit. PAIN can be a great muse. Drugs too. Just don't ignore the idea of slamming your fucking foot into something really solid. Korn is all about that pain though so...
Youll never guess what their song "A.D.I.D.A.S." is about ;)
hell yeah
You need to check out Nine Inch Nails “Closer”. Then, review their song “Hurt” and then compare it to Johnny Cash’s cover of “Hurt”. It will break your soul. So good.
I recommend the twisted transistor music vid from Korn next you'd love it.
Ah you make me smile and laugh. good sh^t! keep doing your thing.
Ma man, you NEED to hear NIN - Closer. It will absolutely blow your F'n mind and make you fall out of your chair laughing.
You wanna see a musician's brain on drugs? This is it lol
U should check out Faith No More- the morning after, the real thing, midlife crisis, easy and evidence. Every damn song is a banger
Commenting half way through as he says he wants something transformative....give it 10 seconds mate....Johnatham's about to go off 😊
The clip of Freak on a leash was directed by Todd McFarlane, the guy that made Spawn. And it won the Best rock video and Best editing award at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards
Would be cool to see you react to something more modern. Love your reacts!
You should definitely check out Pisces by Jinjer. Just an amazing song.
Korn leans into hiphop a lot. They covered ice cube and even did a track with him.
bro skipped the best part of the song so he could freestyle.
Korn have a song called twist which is almost nothing but that demonic beat boxing it's own like a minute long though
Cracking me up the whole way thru this one. XD Love it
I'd love for you to listen to Rob Zombie's DRAGULA.
Nu metal has A LOT of rap and hiphop influence!
