- THIS VIDEO IT'S OUTDATED!!!
Check the new one • Björk Vocal Range Live...
My second vocal range video :).
About the "whistle register" part, well I'm not 100% sure if they really are whistle notes or reverse phonated notes, also if I missed any peak(highest or lowest) on them, y'know she does an array of different pitches on every run that's what my ears got so far :p.
I hope you like it ;)
Check the new video, longer also with better notes!

That crazy dolphin sound may not sound pleasing to the ears, but it is incredibly unique and next to impossible to pull off like that
I love that noise
I like it personally
😄
@@moonanxiety2993 same, it's extremely pleasing to the ear for me lol
Speak for yourself, it's pleasing to my ears.
It’s done by breathing in when you make the note
I adore her so much
Which live version of Vertebræ by Vertebræ is at 4:10?
Votaïc Tour
Jacob Symons thank you!
Nice and singular voice. Not perfect technically but very interesting and lovely though.
Hahaha "not perfect technically". Thank god she's not perfect according to school wisdom, otherwise she'd sound like every musical singer ever. She's perfect because she's 100% unique.
Wow 💙😻
7:03 i'm pretty sure she could communicate with dolphins if she wanted to
O.O how did she the dolphin / bird song (D7) ?? That's impressive ! Didn't remember she has such a beautiful voice, I like her belts. Great vid
Thank you ;)
Well some seem to be done using reverse phonation (/watch?v=zj01rfi4E4k), but I'm still not 100% sure.
Sometimes Björk have some problems with strain/high larynx, but she also manages to do a lot of great vocal performances, The Anchor Song (6:22), Thunderbolt(2:07), All is Full of Love(2:47) and Oceania(2:18/2:32) are my favorites :).
7:09 and 7:20 were such an eargasm for me like, god how does she do it? she's literally a vocal fairy.
2:48 I fly away with her voice 💜💜💜
what song is it
@@goofy9125 All is full of love
@@irinamaribelcruz thx❤
her voice is unique
shes a really peculiar belter, especially as a soprano. I love her music homogenic is my fav album
To survive in the 90s, under the shadow of the vocal giants (Mariah, Whitney, Celine) still on their peak game, you had to come correct with bomb production and real vocals. You had to know how to SING. Bjork was no different. You don't survive as long as she has without true artistry and real talent. Heck, even Madonna knew to work on improving her voice throughout the decade and ended up with her best vocals on Ray of Light.
Besides, the training she got for Evita I don’t think Madonna has worked on her voice very much. Which is so sad because Ray of Light is amazing and she could’ve kept making more vocally impressive music like that:(
@@thecook1993 Madonna received vocal training for Dick Tracy & even more for Evita both of which set the stage for RoL.
Bjork is an incredible woman, if I ever meet her I will hug her and weep :) NORD!
Some impressive vocals one of the most special voices ever. Not always technically correct and caused some damage. But amazing anyway
You pretty much nailed her solo career. Just two E3s in "Pluto" (harmonized) and in the studio version of "Generous Palmstroke" in the opening lines. Also, she belts out a G5 in "Sod Off" The Sugarcubes and K.U,K.L stuff has some cool belts listed on her page in "The Range Place". Ever notice the "whistle" note at the end of "The Modern Things" so cleverly put in at the same time as a louder keyboard?
Well these E3 in pluto and also Sod off G5 are studio notes.
I did a live video and on live versions of pluto and sod off she didn't hit these notes :/
Also I don't find the "shouty" quality of some Björk belts healthy, most Sugarcubes/Kukl belts are really bad placed and strained so I skipped them and choose only the best ones and focused on head/falsetto notes, where Björk voice shines most (IMO) :)
I didn't know that generous palmstroke had an E3, The Modern Things note is like the "whistle notes" of my video? Yeah I already heard it :)
elrynx2
I will check it :)
holy crap when's that chromatic run around 6:45
What song is that??
@@Lampey22 It's "Delicious Demon"!
@@10mimu thanks a lot!

The most unique voice in the history of Music x
Her trills are crazy good....towards the end of the movie...
Do you thinks it's a crazy fast trill? I never heard any soprano having that kind of trill
Or is it perhaps distortion like those growls she does but in a pure head voice?
^^
Joao Aurelio
It could be a kind of Whistling Trill or Staccato going down the scale....
I had something else typed , but after I got home I started thinking...
This was not a colouratura's trill...this may have been staccato...
It IS possible to sing fast staccato and NOT NECESSARILY in vibrato...
Vibrato is the very rapid vibration in the voice when one relaxes the voice when singing, the vibrato will come naturally.
Whereas staccato is concentrated abruptness in tone breakage in that each tone suddenly stops with no fading into silence...
Bjork COULD have pulled off staccato even in Whistle...and just travel Staccato downward In scale...
I have no idea what u guys are talking about, but somehow I'm still intrigued......👀
+marekabrooks Oh...nothin' much...Just different techniques singers can develop...
Apparently it’s called reverse phonation. I’m not sure if it’s trill
When on Earth did she ever actually sing like at 7:18
She loves C5 haha
that whistle voice is just unreal, very Bjork. I don't think any one can ever replicate that
Woah I didn't know bjork was a dolphin
Her high notes are really pretty
Unfortunately I didn't see too much Bjork because I live in South America and she didn't come here several times, If I'd lived in places like NY, LA or London, it would be better for me. Hope in another life !!! love you B.
Favorite singer, this is why.
…and that's why she got nodules
Lol classical trained singers get nodules, you get nodules if you don't take enough breaks. Was worth it in her case though. She did everything right, and the nodules weren't a big deal anyway.
TAKE THAT, MARIAH CAREY HAHAHAH
Bjork just screeches. She's amazing but she just screeches. Mariah can actually sing in her upper range
yubbone what the fuck does that even mean? so your saying bjork is better because shes not mixed? lol what kind of logic
yubbone thats the dumbest logic ever. whatever with your delusional ass self.
yubbone lol ok
MegaJakie1234 I already banned him
I really can't imagine how a Björk fan can be racist.
Could you tell me what song she sings in 2:47, please? Thank you.

Es magnifica, aun que no es una soprana ni nada de eso, pero tiene una voz sin igual, de lo mejor del mundo la amo
She is soprano dude....
You don't need to be a soprano to be an amazing singer
Creo que confundes el término soprano con cantante de ópera
Does anyone knows what live is that on 3:50?
Most Powerful Soubrette EVER!!!
she ain't a soubrette. I'd have to go with dramatic soprano, to be honest

SONG FOR THE FIRST C#5 ?
Coccon - Royal Opera House
Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do , do re mi fa sol la pa ti pe tu ,8 .7 octaves ,this is not chess so I am gonna send you back to school , Mariah Carey had the highest C4 .
awww. not every musician use notation of Europe.
C6 mean c2"
sooo... 2 octaves of singing 🤣
Tell me you can't count without telling me:
@@ri260 exactly... oh lol you're disagreeing with me... idk anyone who considers falsetto part of their range... so we've got octave 3-5... then some screetching in 7. i love bjork but the title is clickbait... tho you're correct i cant count... octave 3-5 includes 3 4 and 5... thats 3 octaves
Wat song is that on 4:31
Declare independence
ive said it before and ill say it here again; making noise with your mouth does not equal to sing. if you cant express a word with it, dont call it singing. her range is quite normal, going from c 4 to a 5, bellow was anything but clear and 1 1/2 octaves is normal for anybody. add the a3 and you have a typical singer ranger of 2 octaves. squeeking with your vocal cords can be achieved by everyone, kids do it naturally - its not singing without the ability to express a syllable and proper intonation. not everything you can measure as a frequency is automatically a tone.
Imagine being this devoid of joy
@@edcify8241
triggered, huh?
@@thomasherzog86"making noise with your mouth does not equal to singing". Enya? Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance? Are they not singers to you? Damn you're dense, dude
