Do you even know what operatic means? I dont hear any of the wide rolling or quick vibrato that any opera singers have along with the power. She screams not sings and opera singers vooces dont crack just to let you know
@@julianleil7847 i mean yes because opera requires other abilities lol check out renee fleming she’s a world-renowned opera singer and in one of her last albums has covered some björk songs it’s so good to listen to them in such a different perspective
Dedicated to those ignorant people complaining about she doesn't sing so good anymore... Yes, through years she gave us these miraculous moments that none ever could ❤️
I had the privilege to see her live a couple of years ago and I can confirm she is still giving us vocals. She sounded amazing probably the best live show I have ever witnessed it was incredible
Sometimes listening in the confines of a song makes you not realize just how versatile her voice is as an instrument. I swear I could listen to Björk belt gibberish or random sounds all day, there doesnt have to be any tangible lyrics being sung because her voice provokes so much emotion. Its one thing to sing high, or low, but to have the range to do both, be able to have vibrato, AND incorporate all the different vocal inflections and vowels she does is truly amazing.
When I saw that Björk was on The Colbert Report, my brain nearly imploded. I didn't think it was possible for that much awesomeness to be contained in one setting o.O
She talk sings and then mixes some of the usual styles then rampages thru the song, and gets back to peaceful melodies. Very sporadic style but she's got a good voice, I don't understand what she says sometimed tho, but overwhelming cuteness and peculiar sounds are a really good way of describing the blend to her voice
@@simbz194icelandic lyrics, and semi icelandic gibberish are littered around every song. something she says quite often "alsemanché" which can be translated to "all that he sees"
I may as well do song order: human behaviour, big time sensuality, it's oh so quiet, big time sensuality (again), human behaviour (again), the anchor song, this one after I think was a random live song, so broken, cocoon, generous palmstroke, all is full of love, Volta tour throwing stuff, montage of declare independence, vertebrae by vertebrae, all is full of love (again), cosmogony, shhhh :b
Life is hard enough without the vision of Björk Guðmundsdóttir sweaty.... Now I need to deal with that whilst still complementing normal women, I will feel so dishonest..
I love her, buy all her stuff, but everyone i live with hates her and says she can't sing lol, are they wrong, or me for loving her lol, sometimes she does shreik a little lol
can anyone answer this question...there is a certain song from bjork that is like army of me? it's metal and it has a strong metal scream sorta chorus..the video reminded me of matrix I think...
This is from a glastonbury appearance. I think 94? You can find audience videos on youtube. It was a special concert because she played some early versions of The Modern Things and one other track from post (I think it was Army of Me?) a full year before the album came out.. She also performed another song called "Modir",. The song has never been officially released and this was the one and only time it was performed in public.
@@maddeeznutz haha thanks, I ended up watching that DVD and found out about that song. Man 7 years ago I couldn't even imagine what Bjõrk would even become for me. Thank you for answering anyway, it was very very sweet!
You say, these are jsut some random perfomances. She uses quite often techniques like belting, whistle register and tipical jazz scat singing. Her chest voice retains its power, volume and strength despite its timbre thinning somewhat as it pushes higher. As a whole, the voice is a dynamic one that can be oppressive and domineering one moment, and soft and sweet the next. It has the dexterity to sing complex melodies and vocal runs, but also the stamina to hold notes, while maintaining its quality, at length. Furthermore she can deliver powerful raw screams reaching very high notes, in her past bands like KUKL or Sugarcubes was astonishing. Well, I think you don't know her at all.
velvetdress4bono well, screams might be beautiful or bad depending on the song!she might sound pleasant to your ears but that doesn't mean she has a good technique.she strains to hit those notes
fanyoho77 she placed higher than mariah carey on the list of the greatest singers of all the time, i mean even the professionals are agreed that her screams are beautiful
+Viktor Bönnemark She cannot sing at all. And um hello some singers can actually sing live. For example adele, beyonce, christina Aguilera, whitney, mariah, celine. Sooo get ur facts straight
Your not wrong, Björk possesses a soprano vocal range. Her vocal range covers three octaves, going from F3 to E6. Classical composer John Tavener has praised Björk as being "more intelligent than most opera singers",music critic Alex Ross has cited Björk as one of the most gifted voices nowadays. The National Public Radio counted Björk among its list of "50 Great Voices" and MTV included her on its countdown "22 Greatest Voices in Music".
