  • The INCREDIBLE Mike Unbelievable Patton has your vocal range analyzed in this video (by Timi T., who has others vocal range's videos): • Video
I've add some informations in the search and made it into my molds, but not uncrediting the original fount. I hope you all enjoy and comment if anything is wrong or missed.
In this video, was used like refference some of the groups were he's the sing-leader (Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Tomahawk, Fantômas, Lovage, Peeping Tom and solo career), collaborations (inclusive with John Zorn's Moonchild) and live concerts.

Thank you so much for making this video notificates. I love the comments and the participation!
For the ones who saying "screaming is not singing": the video is not about that. Actually, this video is not about proving anything. You can search for another work about it and I highly recommend that because I'm only a fan with lots of free time by the year I made the video and here you'll only see the register of what he can do with the voice, not arguing about his technique. With that in mind, for the purpose of the video, his screams count (and by the way, it is awesome!!).

If you add a young Russell Mael of Sparks on the right side of the piano, they together easily cover the whole keyboard. Listen to 'Equator' for instance.

That was in 1974, 'Kimono My House'.

1975, 'Pineapple' from 'Indiscreet'. Just wait for that word "need"... Neither that is human, the other way around.
You can't expect the man to have the same voice today, though.
(Sparks invited Faith No More to a collaboration on Sparks album 'Plagiarism' (covers of their own songs) two songs: 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us' and 'Something For The Girl With Everything'.)

One day.....one day soon I will surpass this man. I got his lows down. Got his mids and his personalities and his false chord screams. The only thing is just his whistle register .....I don't even understand how to maintain it....I can do it first thing in the morning and late at night or after eating a chocolate bar or something that coats the throat. I can hit these notes just not in command yet. It's like you have to make a small opening in the back of the throat but not to big or small. Has to be just right. And you get a controllable whistle armed with vibrato. My only issue is I can't seem to get a grasp on it. My vocal journey has brought me far. Even when I'm able to do this shit I'm still gonna be impressed with him and anyone else that can do this shit. also for clarity. I'm comfortable singing type zero negative low I can actually dance around that. And I can get into the low notes of the whistle register with my head and falsetto.
Screaming wise. I can do false and fry lows like Alex terrible and highs like shrine of malice. When I started I could barely sing an Ozzy song let alone maiden or rush. Mike Patton is Just on another level.

No one has ever pushed their vocal craft to the absolute threshold of human capability in so many different and diverse styles quite like Mike Patton.
His is the definition of a melophiliac with a life dedicated to pursuing, pushing and honing his vocal craftsmanship to a almost god like level.
He's got my vote and I hope he's able to keep his passion for it because boy he burns the candle at both ends and it's gotta make you wonder just how much can one man do and if that well is infinite or close to it's last bucket.

Mike Patton has in store for the foreseeable future.

The short answer? “It depends” a vocal range could mean a lot of things, and if you count it as “what they can reasonably sing for their kind of music” then yeah, but if you mean “what counts as your average chest/head/mix notes” not necessarily. Mike is known for pushing the envelope, so some of his notes not “counting” by conventional standards seems to be part of the territory.

As far as Tim Storms is concerned: a) he doesn't make contemporary music and b) it's a myth that he has a 10 octave range. XD No one has that.
I don't know how many octaves he has, but the highest note ever sung by a man is a D#8 by the world record holder Adam Lopez (followed by Dimash Kudaibergen whose so far highest note was a D8, one semitone lower).

@bodd boward Hmm Mike's such a legend and it's well-deserved... but I'm gonna try to be fair here.. and saying that all singers with a bigger range are "crappy" singers wouldn't really be fair tbh... e.g. Dimash, Adam Lopez and Nicola Sedda have a slightly bigger range... Nicola is a RUclips singer whom I've never heard sing live, and there's not much known about his background, so there's not much I can say about him... but as far as the other 2 are concerned: Dimash is literally called best singer in the world by many, many, many vocal pedagogues. He's highly skilled and some of his songs are considered not coverable due to their high technical diffculty level, he has a perfect technique, is an amazing live singer and is immensely versatile, and he has university degrees in both classical (operatic) and contemporary singing (with major in pop and jazz) so he's nowhere near being a crappy singer... and Adam is also highly skilled, has a perfect technique as well and he's literally a university professor in singing
additionally I'd like to say that Mike has a huge overall range but his functional range is significantly smaller.. Mike's high notes (I believe all of them that are higher than the mid 5th octave tbh) are screams while sliding up to hit the note.. but he can't hit those super high notes directly, he can't sing them in it's narrower sense, he can't sustain them, he can't control and modify them, he can't phrase them and he can't stay in that range... whereas Dimash and Lopez can both do all that.. and they can sing whole songs in a super high range... aaaaand they have had that huge range available at the same time, while Mike did not tbh.. I mean it was always huge but he never had more than 5 octaves at the same time, he did his highest notes decades ago and his lowest notes later when his voice ha gone lower.. while Lopez and Dimash showcased a 6 octave range in the very same setting (Lopez has a 6 octave demonstration video in RUclips and Dimash once sang a 6 octave song on stage)

And too many "artists" would never have that title were it not for auto-tune and post-production. True skill, talent, is rare. He is one such rarity.

Thank you so much! I will say some things in portuguese, I'm sorry, my english is not that good: eu tenho recebido muitos comentários positivos e ótimas críticas nesse vídeo nos últimos tempos. Pretendo dar continuidade a outros artistas que escuto, mas requer muita disposição e pesquisa, e também tenho obrigações com a faculdade. Mas todas essas avaliações me motivam bastante a voltar a continuar as pesquisas. Obrigado de verdade! Espero que o que eu tenho em mente possa se concretizar e possa agradar.

Thanks for the comment! I watched that concert after the video, dude. Mike was totally inspired that day (by the way, what a setlist!!!). I'm so sorry to not watched before, but I think what I put in the video can show a good percent of Mike's talent. xD
