I would still say the best part of Halo was the music. Every other aspect of the game has the small one or two things, but the music has never gone wrong, especially the original Bungie games.

Jonesy Same chief. But good things don’t last. But we as humans use the good things to create better things. Halo: reach and the good ole days of halo may be gone but. We will never forget them and we shall move on and prevail!

Boy, you better be getting Reach on PC tomorrow. We're back in business Marine!
MCC is going to PC with mod support. Look up Cursed Halo and you know where it's gonna be headed.
Coming back to this as an adult, I realize now how many different instruments actually play in the music we associate with Halo. Marty really went all out with the score and it really shows.

My comment is a relic of a less catastrophic time period in RUclips lifecycle, back when you could see dislikes…
It's 36 now, but I think they were so moved by the hit of nostalgia they got a little teary eyed and miss clicked.

Respect to the gamers who died to grunts on easy mode
I'd rather have players who die on easy mode than players who never got to experience Halo at all. When I started playing Halo when I was 7 or 8 years old, I could hardly survive on easy difficulty. After a few years, my motor skills got more refined, and now I find it utterly boring to play on any difficulty other than legendary.
@@kelly2631 I mean, Heroic feels pretty much the same fun, without the constant punishing from paper-thin energy shields
I discovered Halo at the beggining of 2020, by watching a video talking about it, and the first thing that I've searched after this video was the Halo sountracks. I have much decisions I regret, but watching that video was not one of them, this is a true love letter to all Halo fans of the globe, and I hope this get more views.
I, like everyone else that watched this video and many others knows how much this means to us. Thank you from Brazil.

some time ago I have been struggling with a depression that almost dominates me, to the point of ending my emptiness without inspiration. luckily I was able to resume my work and some of my activities, just that I am still alone, and I look forward to seeing my family again to try to recover. Halo always inspired me and helped me maintain it. for some it may not be the great thing, but I have every piece of music stored in my heart, because it manages to make me feel an air of inspiration, conviction. It is one of the things that I found in life that makes me move forward. Thanks for uploading this and right now. Greetings from Argentina rtas

Halo as a franchise is single-handedly responsible for the intense fascination I have with SciFi as a whole, genre and all. It never fails to latch onto me and pull me back into obsession year round, this series has always, and will always continue to be close to my heart, no matter the ups and downs. I'll never forget the first time I sat down to play Halo, specifically Halo 3. I was seven years old, my mom had decided to bring me along for a strawbale workshop she was participating in at the time, and there was only one other kid I could really hang out with who was around my age. His name was Panther, and his parents owned and ran the workshop.
I think he was about a year and a half older than I was, so him and I had similar interests, but he was absolutely fixated on Halo at the time, and needed someone to play the game with him, so he decided to drag me into it. The rest is history. I never got to get my own xbox while I was growing up, it wasn't until I became an adult and had a job that I had to just buy it for myself. The only video game system we ever got was the Nintendo series, and that was only the Wii, and then the Wii U right as the new smash brothers game came out for it. Though I was grateful for that stuff, I just yearned to be able to play the game that I never stopped obsessing about.
It led to the point that anytime I was over at someone else's house I would always ask if they had an Xbox, followed by if they had any Halo games, and whatever time I had I would spend it savoring the game, just trying to enjoy every moment I could until I had to leave. I watched all the videos about it online that I could, I'd book browse at Hastings and Barnes & Nobles for hours reading Halo books and comics, not even understanding what was going on, but absolutely adoring the series. My parents never wanted to get us an xbox, the only thing that makes me think why is because it had more violent games, and my parents were religious. Even then, though, my dad tried to be understanding of my interest in the series and he bought me two lego sets when I was about 12, but that's as much as he would enable it. Didn't help curb my obsession, though. It's like it just took hold of me and has never let go of me since.
Nowadays, I work on developing my own SciFi universe. I have so many different characters and stories that I hope to tell one day. Whether they're a book/comic series, on TV as a running show, turned into a video game franchise, or whatever, I just want it to be as impactful, amazing, and deeply written with the love that the Halo writers did for their series. I hope that my life's work and inspiration will inspire others like this game has me. Maybe that's ridiculous, but I've learned to stop feeling insecure or embarrassed about it. This series had made such an impact on me, and many others like me, now I want to be able to turn around and do the same. One day, hopefully, my stuff will be published, one way or another.
I feel like this story is one as old as time. I know of so many people who were inspired by this series in incredible ways. Maybe it's the grand story, the impossibly beautiful music, or the incredible imagery, but it seems to be a catalyst for great universes. I wish you luck with your worldbuilding ambition. I'm sure it's already incredible, even if, like my ideas, it's just a large wad of hope and 40 pages of rambling.

Art has never been expressed so freely.
For me, the Halo Reach music was by the far the most nostalgic and moving music in the entire Halo franchise. Great story and great music truly captured the ambiance of the entire experience. Looking back, I'm grateful that I spent that time playing my best friend. Family, careers and life have drifted us apart but when we get together we still crack jokes and reminisce about the good old days of being careless and spending 4 hours playing a game that brought so many of us together.
30 extra minutes of epicity
KAIDON IS BACK!
Ghosts and Glass sends shivers up my spine. That track has always captured the melancholic nature of Reach so well. "They'll be another time" and the swelling chords with the minor key. It's a perfect little bubble of pathos that you can only experience with the unique medium presented.
Also, I just recently realised that Lone Wolf's rally point is called Omega. The last letter. Been playing it for a decade and never noticed. I think it is because MCC puts the available rally points in a more obvious place.
Lasky's theme at 1:18:20 is one of the best pieces of music in halo, it's so nostalgic, melancholic... yet so heroic and hopeful at the same time, truly gives me chills. Hope they give Lasky the development and credit he deserves in the story in future games, he's a really good character and should be more fleshed out as is.
I agree, but I have a feeling he will not survive Halo Infinite.......
Very heartwarming 🙂
I agree 👌

Yo, I listen at this playlist everyday while im studying, and in this cuarintine its so good to hear music that reminds me one of the best videogames that I played on my childhood
Loved the original, listen to it every day at work. Great work!
You've done good Kaidon, Halo's been Good to me make sure when you create more mixes.. you make it count.
Absolutely perfect to listen to while writing for my GURPS campaign. I don't think any other franchise ever had an impact anywhere near as strong as Halo did on me. It's nice to be building a story for my players to enjoy while honoring the franchise that got me into the genre in the first place. It's a beautiful cycle that I hope continues forever. Cheers!
Bungie's game before Halo, Myth: The Fallen Lords, actually had an official GURPS source book. It all comes together :)
You're the one who brought me Halo 4 Kadion green and blue remix thank you I still listen to it to this day
Never forget song. Jesus it actual brings me to tears 😭
Man I'm listening to this now and crying my eyes out remembering the lobbies FULL of people from all parts of the world on Halo CE-4 I miss those days I wish I could have them back
Thanks Kaidon for the Memories of this playlist and to all of you who I may have played and battled against even today I remember one of you. kAoS Storm Hope I can finally meet you back in Infinite lobbies!
Maybe, just maybe, there's another person unknowingly listening this at the same time. On different parts of the world, but still listening together. And maybe, just maybe, he's listening to "Never Forget" at the same time, with me. And maybe, just maybe, he's having the same emotions as me, the same chills running though his body, remembering, never forgetting those awesome moments back when we were younger.
Hello stranger, hope this mix is helping you as much as it has been helping me :-)
Man, the first one and ashes are the ones I remembered, but never knew the names to. Man, I agree with my brother; Martin O’Donnel is amazing.
Now that I have listened to it so much, never forget makes me want to cry internally
19:16 these are the halo chords. Iconic, unique, thoughtful.
Best part 0:00 - 1:30:00
The Halo: Reach soundtrack is a work of art, it complements the story so perfectly and stands alone just as well.
Epilogue from the Halo: Reach OST truly hits me every time I hear it in a few different ways.
It truly feels like the fitting final piece for the Bungie era of the franchise, a wrapping of loose ends, a tying of the bow if you will.
It makes me think back on the first time I played a Halo game. It causes nostalgia to bubble up inside me, remembering the good times I had on it. Most of all, it makes me think back to all the friends I made playing Halo, many of which I still hold into my adult life.
I think most people who've played these games feels similarly, that when they hear Epilogue there is a momentary pause in our minds that brings us back to those times.
Halo has some fantastic music, but Epilogue truly feels like the capstone of it all. It is the epitaph upon which that era's games finished their story. And, I dare say, every time I listen to it I become hopeful for the future.
Cheers, Kaidon! You couldn't have ended this video out any better!

Dude this is perfect. To this day especially recently I'll listen to this on repeat for like nine hours whist I'm machining. Love being on the bed saw, routr, diamond polisher etc. with this in my ear nothing more tranquil. Best series. Best soundtrack. Best lore. Period.
Somehow you always deliver when I have exams coming up
At the very end of the video, Epilogue, the resolution to the Eb chord made for the most perfect legendary ending to any video game in history. For those of you who don't know, that song plays at the end of Halo: Reach. During the credits, in the original release, a message popped up from Bungie explaining their gratitude towards the Halo fans through the years. However, what makes this ending more special, is that Halo: Reach was Bungie's very last Halo game. After this, they were done. Not only does the music wrap up the legacy of the Noble team, but it also concludes the legacy of Bungie's masterpiece, Halo. It was their final goodbye and the music capped it all off- better than any video game ever before.
I think "Epilouge" was a farewell to the players in the campaign, while "We Remember" was the farewell to the rest of the games. We remember Reach, we remember the good times, we remember the double XP weekends, we remember all of it, really.
God I miss the days of the late 2000's and early 2010's. It all seemed so much more simple.
Now that I have listened to the whole thing, you’ve put some one my favorite songs in all of halo in. Fantastic!
