Couldn't have summed up in a better way. Goat debate was decided by slams previously but everything changed after Djokovic cracked it. Infact it keeps changing because Djokovic keeps breaking new records . Soon they will say that Federer is the Goat because he gave Birth to twins twice.
This is lame oversimplification. Most ppl today are already acknowledging djokovic as the goat - of course there are minorities who argue otherwise, but minority opinions always existed even when federer or sampras took the records (albeit to a lesser extent perhaps).
@@mrlalalaelmo7454 minority ? The whole ATP and Grand slams marketing team are against him. If you don't believe then just search about half a decade old posts regarding how they claimed Federer as the Goat. Now go and check the official Australian open page where they have put Djokovic behind women's tennis such as Serena Williams and Margaret Court who didn't even play half slams in open era. The narrative is far visible.
You said it all... For those crazy fans, tennis is now like figure skating, where elegance is the key aspect... Everyone knows that you win points for hitting a beautiful shot and not an effective one, that's why Medvedev is ranked no.567 at the moment on the tennis figure skating ranking!
I have a question for you....when do you think he ended it? After winning the French open? And who was the Goat before that? Was Nadal ever the Goat? I'm sorry that's more than just a question 😅
@@V79K nice question. I think Nadal could and still can be considered the GOAT (like the video points out) but he never was this ahead of the other 2, like Nole is now. Even if he had 22 Grand Slams and Nole had 20, Nole was still holding the record for most weeks at No. 1, which is I think one of the most important stats. I definitely respect and admire what Nadal did despite having so many injuries, but yeah after Djokovic won his 23rd Grand Slam, now there is no statistical fact that can be used to argue that Nadal is better. Even before Nole won his 23rd I was thinking that he is the GOAT, but now I think there is no debate, just as I think Messi also ended the GOAT debate when he won the World Cup.
@@V79K Djokovic ended the debate when we won Australian Open 2023. From there, he was leading (or tie) in all important categories in tennis: Grand slams, ATP Finals, Masters1000, Big titles, Year-end #1, Weeks #1 and other subcategories: Wins against top 5, top 10, H2H with other GOAT candidates, H2H at main rivals favorite Grand Slams (beat Nadal 2 times at RG but never lost to him at AO, beat Federer 3 times at Wimbledon but lost to him once at AO), career win percentage, Non-caledar GS, Career Golden Masters, etc. Nadal was never the GOAT, Federer was! - 60% of his slams are at one event - He never won the APT Finals (a tournament that brings the top 8 of the season) - He is 6th all-time in Weeks #1 - He was ranked #2 most of the time during his career (387 weeks as #2) Nadal needed to have the Grand Slams record by a margin of at least 2 Slams to really be in the discussion. Imagine that there is still debate regarding Djokovic despite the fact he is leading 6 important categories. Nadal would be leading only one category.
What if it was reversed and Federer was 5 years younger than Novak? Or 4 years younger than Nadal? There’s a nearly 100% chance he’d have ALL the records. He’d have beaten Novak and Nadal even more than he did being 4-5 years younger than them. He did outstanding against these two other outstanding players being that much older than them. Roger was unstoppable in his prime - making 17 out of 18 finals in a row 😮. Stats aren’t always the best way to showcase who is better. Barry Sanders, who played alongside Emmit Smith in the NFL was a far superior running back, but had much worse stats that Emmit Smith.
@@Diogenex12 Putting aside stats only favors Fed. Just watch how he played vs anyone else. It was beyond. So stats aside, Fed in his prime was better than Novak in his prime, hands down. Fed made it through EVERYONE, to 17 out of 18 major championships in his prime. No one can beat that. He was the best when he was in his prime. And would have absolutely had better stats if Nadal and Novak were 5 years older than him.
Dude... It is quite simple. You have a guy that holds literally every record. That has positive score against his greatest rivals (that are, btw, also in the GOAT debate). He won each major 3 times, each masters at least 2 times. I mean, how can anyone else even be close to him? Djokovic is THE GOAT, there's no discussion about it. He is not just the tennis goat, he should also be considered for the GOAT athlete debate.
Since 50% of slams and 66% of master 1000 are held on hard court each year, by mastering that one surface, you can increase your GOAT chances also. But silly Rafa and Roger for mastering the other surfaces. Shame on them for only getting 20 and 22 slams respectively. They should have been smart like Novak. /s
@@DeepakMallick Djokovic has won 7 Wimbledon titles and played in 10 finals (compared to just 4 US open titles) and he was only stopped by a completely unplayable Nadal in the French Open at least 5 times - I'd hardly say he struggles on other surfaces, in fact when you look at Federer's single Roland Garros title and Nadal's two Wimbledon titles, you'd be led to believe that Djokovic is more versatile and less dependant on surfaces than his rivals

When Sampras had the most slams and most weeks at No.1 , he was considered the GOAT. When Federer had both these records, he was considered the GOAT. But when Djokovic has both the records, it's about elegance, beauty and eye test. Stop the hypocrisy !! One important thing, Tennis is an individual sport. When you are playing a team sport, there are so many variables which goes into winning, that's why it's SUBJECTIVE. Some players can play at a very high level but they can still lose. Best example is LeBron James. Apart from 2011 NBA Finals, he was phenomenal in all the finals yet he has 6 Final losses because of the underpeformance of the team. But in Tennis it's all on you. If you lose, all the blame is on you and if you win all the credit goes to you. Novak has all the important records and it's as objective as it can get in sport . Novak Djokovic is the GOAT !!
We don't care about subjectivity, we look at facts. Djoković holds every record. That's it he is the GOAT. Numbers are everything. Whenever Federer or Nadal held records, the stats were the only thing people were talking about, but when Djoković broke all the records suddenly the numbers weren't important. There is no debate..m

That Novak Djokovic is GOAT is completely obvious. He has a positive match record against Nadal and Federer, the most weeks as ATP ranking leader, the most Grand Slam titles. These are such incredible achievements that no one will top it for the next 100 years.
Also things like he's won each Slam at at least 3 times. Nadal has done each Slam twice. Nadal pushes Djoko the closest, in terms of head to head, masters titles, slams etc, but Djoko is still clear. Federer honours and stats are actually quite behind the other two, and he arguably had a slightly easier time of things 2003 to 2007 before Nadal and Djoko truly got going. Federer can also thank his lucky stars he only had to beat Soderling in order to win the 2009 French open, otherwise he'd have a big gaping hole in his CV.
Uhh Novak is still the GOAT. What's your point? He will still end up with 30+ GS before he retires. He perfected every aspect of the game, including the aging factor.

When Sampras was dominating, all that mattered was GS titles! When Roger was dominating, all that mattered was GS titles! When Rafa won his 22nd , all that mattered was GS titles! When a boy from a country half of the so called "civilized west" couldn`t even find on the map, broke the record in almost every stat, all of the sudden, statistics and achievements were not relevant! Novak has won an all-time record 23 Grand Slam singles titles. He has been the world No. 1 for a record total 389 weeks in a record 12 different years, and the year-end world No. 1 a record seven times. Djokovic is the only player in tennis history to be the reigning champion of all four majors at once across all three different surfaces and the only one to achieve a triple Career Grand Slam by winning all four majors at least three times. He has won a record 67 Big Titles while winning all four Grand Slams tournaments, all nine ATP Masters tournaments, and the Year-end Championships at least twice, a feat no other player achieved even once. Not to mention H2H positive score against his biggest rivals, Roger and Rafa......and yet... all this became irrelevant once he surpassed both Roger and Rafa in the GS race! How convenient!
Out of all the great athletes past and present why is it absolutely necessary to single one out to be the greatest of all time based on mere numbers? How can a person's greatness be even measured by the statistics? Who is the GOAT among Jesus Christ, Prophet Muhammad and Gautama Buddha? As they are all well respected spiritual leaders, by childishly singling one out as GOAT based on the amount of miracles they performed and the number of followers they have, would be like not only insulting those great people themselves but their followers as well. GOAT debate does more harm than good. All great achievers of any category deserve equal respect.
No, it's not "how convenient". For example, Djokovic started really winning a lot the same year that Federer turned 30. They never faced each other in their primes, and Djokovic almost lost to a nearly 37-year old Federer in 2019 (and was generally outplayed in that match). I DO believe Novak is the GOAT, he has the most titles, records, etc. He deserves the title, but it's not as clear cut as you want it to be and it's not by a mile. Having said that, the other two do have flaws as well: with Rafa, such a huge part of his titles are on clay, Roger really had his time beating lesser players in 04-06, same as Djokovic in 20-22. That's why it's a debate still, and yes, at least for me Novak holds the obvious edge. And keep your victim complex out of it, really. Nobody cares where he's from except for you. You're so impartial, because you are from Indonesia, right? Or Uruguay? Maybe Egypt? You are clearly not from Serbia or one of other Balkan countries, right, Mr. Objectivity? Since he's already carried to win by easy draws, questionable umpire behaviours and visible body changes that would lead to investigation and lifetime ban while there are no obvious high skilled teenagers that could become "the other 2" asap, most likely, he would simply milk the stats with media pretending that he's the goat of goats, like they already started. Also, no coaching while doing it and crowds in Europe and US constantly rooting "for the underdogs".

I mean, if Novak wasnt better at litraly evry single important stat someone could argue the slams only, but as it is there is no more debate. We got the greatest tennis player of all time in Novak without a doubt. People always talk about Feds elegance and Rafas fighting but what is way more important in tennis are power of will, mental strenght and longevity. Those are probbaly the most important things player needs and Novak is just unbeliveble. He should be studied at evry university on how human being can do that mentaly. Especaily that he had fans mainly against him all his career. Also fact thet he was playing in the hardest era of tennis ever. He is basicly superhuman.
Novak had to battle thousands to win his titles...it was usually against Nadal or Fed plus the thousands in the crowd. His mental fortitude is 2nd to none always huge cheers for his double faults or net cords going the way of the other player.
In literally every sport people are just looking stats, you know someone is the best when he has most MVPs, most scores, etc... just here there are crying babies from the West :D
Sure, because everyone agrees if LeBron is better then Jordan, who is better between Maradona, Pelè, Ronaldo, Ronaldo and Messi, who is the greatest boxer
yeah, Neither MJ or LeBron are exactly loveable, magnanimous dudes and in MJ's case we just admire his "killer instinct" and "competitive spirit". Novak seems like a sweet child in comparison. There is very little to dislike about the brilliant, humorous, generous, sportsmanlike character of Novak other than his somewhat pseudo-scientific opinions on health and even that is debatable. Something about his approach to living is obviously working. He can be a bit tempestuous but not to any real malevolent extent. Roger's passive-aggressive form of showing his pride and his carefully managed persona are actually worse, IMO.
@@klefdnb Exact opposite. The forecast calls for pain for Novak haters. As the current generation ages out - the old people who are still in love with Rafa and Roger and have unreasonable hate for Novak - Novak's historical stock will rise and rise and rise, as objective observers of the sport come to dominate the debate. In the end he will be seen as the greatest of all time by every metric - and as the man who conquered the other two GOATS who were vying for the crown, despite the unreasonable hate and bias from the rabid fan base supporting their favorites. Your only hope, as one of those haters, is that Carlito will take over and somehow accumulate the kind of numbers that Novak has amassed over his still going career. As good as Carlito is, those numbers are almost unreachable because of the inability of most humans to sustain that kind of dominance for so long. So, it looks like Novak will be a thorn in your side for probably the rest of your life, as his legend only grows to heroic status. That he did all of this in the face of so many who couldn't stomach the loss of the Rafa and Roger show, and who actively rooted against him for that reason only, will be seen as a mental feat of inhuman proportions. He will be known as one of the greatest ATHELTES of all time for generations to come. This is already clearly the trend among knowledgeable students of the game. The more that people like you hate him the more his status will grow . . .
Michael Jordan is not the one who has more NBA titles. Ridicolous comparison. I'm 20 years old, I have lived Djokovic dominance and I can say none has played tennis like Federer
While the Fed had the highest GS, he was the Goat. At that time, there was no philosophizing about the nature of GOAT. Nole is not only GOAT in all important parameters, but he also showed it Head to Head against the main candidates.
You see, here is the thing. When Roger had 20 slams, and when he was ahead of Djoker and Rafa, everybody relayed on stats and GS number as the most important measure. Now when almost all records are broken by Novak, people are saying that this doesnt matter, but his impact on the sport, personality and etc. Just hypocrite and pathetic...
Imagine in soccer game, if the winner was team which played "better and nicer" and not the team that scored more goals ? Novak is the GOAT and the BOAT !
Dont forget what they did to him during covid, literarily locked him up for weeks like a criminal. If no covid there would be few more tournaments won by Novak for sure!
I've been following tennis steadily for over 20 years. For me, Roger is the GOAT. I NEVER based my decision on the fact that he had the most slams. It's simply a straw man argument that Novak fans seem to be making up "when Roger had the most slams that's all that mattered - now that Novak has the most we changed the rules!" That's simply not true. NOBODY ever said Roger was the GOAT simply because he held the most slams. As this video points out, it's a very subjective discussion. And the truth is, there is no such thing as the GOAT - it's just an opinion. And I respect people's opinions and differences. And I understand why Novak's winning records clinches it for some people. But I find Novak pretty boring - he's a great defender and that's how he wins. But just keeping the ball in play and avoiding a loss isn't very exciting tennis. And it's not a broad skill set. To my eyes, Roger is the best player ever because, yes he is a proven winner with 20 GS, but also because he is great at EVERY facet of the game. And not just great - better than anyone else. Go right now and look up career stats for Roger and Novak. Roger is better at Novak in just about every measurable metric. Roger is literally the better player. I think Wimbledon 2019 is the perfect summary of my argument - an OLD Federer at the twilight of his career, facing a 6 year younger, 20+ GS winner in the finals. Roger completely outplays him (check the stats for that final) yet he loses to the ultimate defender - Novak - who gets another win. Roger is my GOAT 4E!
This debate is actually pretty easy. Because the only factors you can really rely on are cold and hard numbers and Stats. Everything else is motivated by emotions and are way too subjective to really hold up to the matter. I am a Federer Fan all the way. But whether you like it or not, Djokovic is the Goat. Now please stop making up Excuses and move on. :/
djokovic is mostly called a goat by a luck everythink went his ways like he is playing mediocre players for a couple of years roger to old to compete with him rafa to injured most of slams and masters are played on hard his best sufrace novaks best seaosnes are those where rafa and roger didnt compete or they were injured preaty pathetic goat who lost many times against wawrinka and murray in finals lol open your eyes
The basic problem is because Novak is eastern Europe Serbia origin. He is not from West and that bathers media, sponsors, fans, sport business people...
Everybody ( read DESPERATE FEDAL ) fans is trying to muddy the water, and try to make things as confusing as possible by insisting on impossibly comparisons.Yes, the shoes, strings, rackets, balls and surfaces were different 75 or 40 yrs. ago, but everyone is playing against their peers under the same conditions. The fact that a " CERTAIN GUY" needs super fast surfaces to win, or the other guy needs everything played on clay, just so he can have an edge, says a lot.
Novak stats: Most slams, masters, weeks at 1, year end 1, atp finals, triple career slams, double golden masters, h2h against the other 2, best win %, most top 5 and top 10 wins. Roger stats: elegance, grace. Nadal stats: Olympic medal, uncles named toni.
if slams count, switch one of the hard courts with clay and then recount who'd have more by far. not a nadal fan just tryin to say it a kinda favors certain type of players
It is ridiculous to include tennis players from the past in the debate. And the bicycle used to be the best means of transportation... The quality of the final product is the only thing that matters. No intelligent person cares what the people of the past would have achieved if they were born today. The players of the past are what they were, not what they might have been. Djokovic is what he is, and that is far above everyone else.
Greatest ambassador; best doubles player out of the big 3: Roger Federer Peak performance on a surface (clay) with the youngest maturity: Nadal Best overall player and movement: Post 2011 Djokovic
his doubles play was his practice for singles so he played a lot (he preferred it to singles practice or grinding out more singles matches instead of playing all the doubles he did). He's from an era where all the doubles skills were applicable in singles because of the wooden racquet / serve volley play.
Bruh, for Federer the debate was already over as soon as Novak hit 21 GS. As for Nadal and all time GOAT debate, it was over as soon as Djoker hit 23rd GS. The debate is already over. GOATkovic is simply doing side quests now.
The only devil's advocate argument one can make is that Nadal had it the hardest since he had to deal with Federer's and Djokovic's respective primes, while Federer caught a young Nadal at first and Djokovic caught an aging Nadal eventually, but yeah the sheer statistical clout of Djokovic simply can't be ignored. He's the GOAT.
Federer and Nadal fans for a DECADE, at least, wanted to insist that " only GS matter" , but I always thought that was an easy way to describe things to a lazy tourist who does not follow the sport. I also always thought that EVERYTHING matters, and counts, because it is important, if you want to find out who is the best.Of course, Federer and Nadal fans did not want to talk or hear about it, because Djokovic was leading in every main tennis category years before Roger retired.
I feel that Federer blundered by not adopting newer racquet designs when he was still in his prime. This placed him at a disadvantage relative to other great players who had. How many more Grand Slam events might Roger had won if he had accepted the fact that technologically advanced racquets would have upped his game? When he finally did, he was already in his (still really good) post-prime phase.
A huge chunk of the GOAT debate is subjective because humans as emotional creatures will always develop emotional connections to players who impacted us the most. For me, Sampras will always be my favourite player. Your favourite might be Federer or Nadal or Novak or Goran Ivanisevic (just throwing that in there) or Bjorn Borg or Agassi. So what gives? The GOAT debate for an individual sport such as tennis is inevitably headed for pure number crunching as the deciding factor. And when all is said and done, the numbers don't lie: Novak is the GOAT! And I don't see whats wrong with admitting that and STILL having someone else as your favourite player. For me the debate is settled but Sampras' highlight reels will always be a special thing for me because he impacted my childhood and was a source of inspiration for me growing up.
You also need to consider that though there was overlap of prime time of big three, not all the matches they played head to head were in prime for each of them. For instance Rafa was at his prime before 2014 and later he suffered lot of injuries and during his prime period he had better record against Novak.
Why was there no debate for the GOAT when Federer was leading in GSs, but there is now? “Federer is the goat because he’s won the most GSs.” Now that he doesn’t lead, Fedal fans: “Federer is the goat because his style is so…or his elegance.” 🙄🙄. Never stops.
In terms of pure skills - Roger Federer is the Goat In terms of defense and physicality, and clay domination - Rafael Nadal is the Goat In terms of overall balance and winning - Novak is the goat of tennis
Djokovic has the most Majors Masters ATP Finals Important titles Weeks as number 1 Number 1 year ends Positive h2h against Nadal and Federer There is no debate, just failure to accept the facts.
When speaking about the goat I base my judgement on 3 criterias: Trophies - Level and longevity - Era comparison Nadal is the goat for me because he has the best record behind Djoko, his tennis level was the highest I’ve ever seen on clay, the guy was almost unbeatable, and regarding the comparison between eras, no one has dominated one surface like Nadal did, everyone was afraid of him, and that for almost 13 years !
If GOAT is about 'impact and what you bring to the sport' instead of winning stats (now that Djokovic holds a clear lead in all the significant winning stats) then Djokovic is another obvious strong choice over others in the big 3 due to a) PTPA b) pushing for more prize sharing with lower ranked players c) donations to multiple countries for covid relief d) devoted support for children e) a lonely stand against authoritarian big pharma mandates, at great personal & competitive sacrifice f) learning many languages & making big effort of engaging with fans & reporters in their local language around the world g) earned high degree of respect & appreciation from upcoming rivals for helping & encouraging them in their development: many players speak of this h) trend setter: led the way among tennis players in advanced study of, and personal responsibility for health, nutrition, meditation & fitness i) overcoming adversity: from his childhood background to being the one who came from behind in an era with two potential GOAT candidates already dominating and with established fan bases, forcing him to earn his wins without the level of support his rivals had because he was in the role of the usurper for most of his career so far and some fans have openly admitted cheering not for the active players but for whoever and whatever results could protect the legacy of the one they already hoped to hold records.
Roger won his 1st slam in 2003 at 21st age, when Djokovic turned Pro. Since 2003 RF dominated the game like no one did. Djokovic won his slam in 2008 but he has to wait again for 3 years for his next slam, because Roger & Nadal are still competing with each other. Till that time, he maintained his ranking below Roger & Nadal, because Djokovic is the next best player. After Roger started losing to anybody, Djokovic started winning slams slowly. Watching Roger game, feels he born to play tennis. slice, single handed back hand, mixing of shots, winning easy matches. Whereas Novak game is more physical, same as Rafa. Like, if you have to keep winning you need to work harder than other players. For me difference between Roger & Djokokovic , is like a difference between brilliant & hardworking student, both are getting good numbers.
Murray is way ahead of Wawrinka, Murray reached 11 Grandslam finals and 10 other semi finals over a decade....he would beat everyone and lose to the Big 3, which is why he was added into the Big 4. Wawrinka reached 4 finals and 5 semis over 4 years which is still impressive considering he won 3 out of the 4 finals. Overall Wawrinka might have been the best of the rest but he was not at Murray's level. P.S. - I do think Wawrinka has the most beautiful one handed backhand the game has ever seen.
@@V79Kdon’t forget that he won 2 consecutive gold medals which will probably not be achieved again for decades to go. And considering how Djokovic always behaved in Olympics, the athletes actually care very much about Olympics unlike what some tennis „fans“ claim.

The hard truth is, that Tennis changed over years, and the new technologies and surfaces were in Djokovics and Nadals favor, now that baseline rallies are the majority of the game. Just like people call 2003-2008 a weak era dominated by Federer, the same would go for Nadal and Djokovic nowadays
1. Federer 2. Nadal 3. Djokovic Federer paved the road Djokovic road to victory. Nadal wouldve done so much better if he didnt have injuries. Djokovic took a lot of easy wins with no real competition
I'm a huge novak fan, since i was 8-9 i watched and supported him and of course he is my favourive player and goat. But i think the best criteria for goat debate is how much certain player pushed limits of what was thought humanly possible. For example Sampras having 14 GSs and Borg 11 while retiring at 26 slams is significant leap from other greats having 7-8 slams. Then roger broke the record by 2 ( he was at 16 in 2010 but arrival of rafa and nole significantly slowed his progress ), winning only 4 in big 3 era. (2011+). He was long on 17 slams and won 3 during novak's absence in 2017 and 2018. Then rafa and novak continued winning slams partly motivated by rogers taly. Now its 23 22 20 but a lot of novak's and rafa's greatnes is owed to roger making them chase even at the age of retirement. For me, a diehard nole fan GSs are not important anymore. Even if nole takes 26 slams in proportion to 22 of rafa its like 13:11. My point is picking any of them as a singular GOAT is a donwplay even insult for the greatness of other 2 from big even for Sampras and Borg too. Those 5 greats are my goats, nole being my favourite and probably the best but on the same level of greatness as other 4.
Federer actually beats his opponents. Djokovics consistency makes them beat themselves. If you have the shots that make you beat someone, you are by definition the best. The true goat rank goes federer, laver, djokovic, nadal
It's not just holding every record, it's managing to do it while sharing the majority of your career with the other all-time greats who came before you. Also, the provided list of all-time greats is pretty generous. Ashe, Murray, Courier, and Vilas are pushing it, while Hewitt shouldn't be within a mile of it.
It's not even a team sport. Like you have to cut some slack if a footballer had a poor national team or something. It's an individual sport and he leads in every stat possible. I don't even like him. But he is the best. And now by quite a margin.

@@V79KNadal is the undisputed goat of clay, but definitely not overall
@@salihnumanbuyukbasstudent134Very nicely explained. I agree with everything from start to finish. Cheers
- 60% of his slams are at one event
- He never won the APT Finals (a tournament that brings the top 8 of the season)
- He is 6th all-time in Weeks #1
- He was ranked #2 most of the time during his career (387 weeks as #2)
Nadal needed to have the Grand Slams record by a margin of at least 2 Slams to really be in the discussion. Imagine that there is still debate regarding Djokovic despite the fact he is leading 6 important categories. Nadal would be leading only one category.

We are not judging a miss universe contest. All the stats point to the GOAT and it is Novak without question.

He is not just the tennis goat, he should also be considered for the GOAT athlete debate.
Since 50% of slams and 66% of master 1000 are held on hard court each year, by mastering that one surface, you can increase your GOAT chances also. In the end he will be seen as the greatest of all time by every metric - and as the man who conquered the other two GOATS who were vying for the crown, despite the unreasonable hate and bias from the rabid fan base supporting their favorites.

"Debate" totally over now.
Keep telling Novak he isn't GOAT yet. He needs the motivation to keep going now that shhhhhhh . . .he is objectively GOAT

Djokovic is the greatest tennis player of all times, if you tried to avoid this fact you are just butthurt, end of discussion
I'll tell you what the harsh truth is, the debate is over.
Sampras did not have an all court game. He was too weak on clay.

When you listed Novak's records I got goosebumps, what are we even talking about here?
Greatest ambassador; best doubles player out of the big 3: Roger Federer
Peak performance on a surface (clay) with the youngest maturity: Nadal
Best overall player and movement: Post 2011 Djokovic
best double player ever is: john mcenroe
@@johncraftenworth7847 Could be, I haven’t seen John play. I would’ve said either one of the Bryan brothers but like I said, I haven’t seen John play.
his doubles play was his practice for singles so he played a lot (he preferred it to singles practice or grinding out more singles matches instead of playing all the doubles he did). He's from an era where all the doubles skills were applicable in singles because of the wooden racquet / serve volley play.
Novak just bagged the only missing piece in his accolades at the Olympics. If you debate him still, then you're just being a casual or worse a clown.
If the debate isn't over yet, it will be by Sunday. Novak with 24 is GOAT
Bruh, for Federer the debate was already over as soon as Novak hit 21 GS. As for Nadal and all time GOAT debate, it was over as soon as Djoker hit 23rd GS. The debate is already over.
GOATkovic is simply doing side quests now.
hahahah loser novaxxavich must have covid
It is so simply, Novak Đoković is the best tennis player ever! Bravo, just show achivements of Novak and compare to other players. That is it!
Djokovic and Nadal are of the same, maybe drugs make Nadal look older
I love how you are so open and considerate of many different perspectives throughout this video. Thank you!
Novak Goatovic
Which country could assemble the best 'Davi's cup' team if you could pick their best players of all time?
Clearly Djokovic is de G.O A.T
You also need to consider that though there was overlap of prime time of big three, not all the matches they played head to head were in prime for each of them. For instance Rafa was at his prime before 2014 and later he suffered lot of injuries and during his prime period he had better record against Novak.
Hold on for Carlitos soon! Alcaraz will win all surface category for straight 10 years 😅
😂😂 Yeah, right...if he battles through all of his injuries...😂
People pleasing video... we all know that the stats tell the story
Id say 90% or more think the big 3 are the greatest.
Is this a modeling contest or sports statistics? 🤣
😂 Dobro pitanje...☝👍👍 Rekla bi da je za zaluđene Fedal fanove sve samo ne sport...😂
In terms of pure skills - Roger Federer is the Goat
In terms of defense and physicality, and clay domination - Rafael Nadal is the Goat
In terms of overall balance and winning - Novak is the goat of tennis
Great video! I think you got to the point! But if the thing is numbers Djoko is the best of all times
Djokovic has the most
Majors
Masters
ATP Finals
Important titles
Weeks as number 1
Number 1 year ends
Positive h2h against Nadal and Federer
There is no debate, just failure to accept the facts.
When speaking about the goat I base my judgement on 3 criterias: Trophies - Level and longevity - Era comparison
Nadal is the goat for me because he has the best record behind Djoko, his tennis level was the highest I’ve ever seen on clay, the guy was almost unbeatable, and regarding the comparison between eras, no one has dominated one surface like Nadal did, everyone was afraid of him, and that for almost 13 years !
Just imagine if Novak was from the West… everyone would have called him as the GOAT
If GOAT is about 'impact and what you bring to the sport' instead of winning stats (now that Djokovic holds a clear lead in all the significant winning stats) then Djokovic is another obvious strong choice over others in the big 3 due to
a) PTPA
b) pushing for more prize sharing with lower ranked players
c) donations to multiple countries for covid relief
d) devoted support for children
e) a lonely stand against authoritarian big pharma mandates, at great personal & competitive sacrifice
f) learning many languages & making big effort of engaging with fans & reporters in their local language around the world
g) earned high degree of respect & appreciation from upcoming rivals for helping & encouraging them in their development: many players speak of this
h) trend setter: led the way among tennis players in advanced study of, and personal responsibility for health, nutrition, meditation & fitness
i) overcoming adversity: from his childhood background to being the one who came from behind in an era with two potential GOAT candidates already dominating and with established fan bases, forcing him to earn his wins without the level of support his rivals had because he was in the role of the usurper for most of his career so far and some fans have openly admitted cheering not for the active players but for whoever and whatever results could protect the legacy of the one they already hoped to hold records.
hahahahaha, and a really booooooring game that no one watches
@@julioivansalazar9853 What is the matter?? 😂 The reality hurts you so much, that you feel the need to trash the GOAT?? You are pathetic...
Roy Emerson won 12 GS singles and 16 GS doubles. Yet no one talks about him as GOAT.
To me, I stopped watching tennis after Sampras retired.
Stop beating around the bush, mate. It's Djoker.
Nobody played better than Federer. Novak is the the greatest
To put Murray in the GOAT list and discard Wawrinka is an insult. Wawrinka at this best is one of the highest most beautiful tennis levels ever.
Who ever put Murray on the GOAT list?
@@Gilgarth right, because all the top players played at the Olympics the last time around, right? Olympics is a joke, not part of ATP, doesn't give any points.
@@dj_m19 you are the joke here lol
If you think Olympics mean nothing to players you‘re just delusional
1. Djokovic
2. Nadal
3. Federer
4. Sampras
Before Novak was a tennis player, now hes Tennis it self
As much as Sampras was better then Agassi, that's how much better Djokovic is then Federer and Nadal. Approximately
1. Federer 2. Nadal 3. Djokovic
Federer paved the road Djokovic road to victory.
Your story is hollow.
Rod Laver won 2 calendar grand slams. No male tennis player has done it since.
Novak is a GOAT !!!!
No it's Serena Williams
Federer actually beats his opponents. Djokovics consistency makes them beat themselves. If you have the shots that make you beat someone, you are by definition the best.
The true goat rank goes federer, laver, djokovic, nadal
copium overdose
It's not just holding every record, it's managing to do it while sharing the majority of your career with the other all-time greats who came before you.
Also, the provided list of all-time greats is pretty generous. Ashe, Murray, Courier, and Vilas are pushing it, while Hewitt shouldn't be within a mile of it.
I had to rewatch after your comment, dude really put Hewitt in here 😂
It's not even a team sport. Like you have to cut some slack if a footballer had a poor national team or something.
It's an individual sport and he leads in every stat possible. I don't even like him. But he is the best. And now by quite a margin.
Novak is the greatest human. Risking his tennis existence for the sake of truth. Against delusion, against politics, against pharma, against mainstream. He is more than tennis.
Federer, it's no doubt.
Nole is the BOAT(best of all time).
Roger, for all he represented in tennis, it's a god.
