- This is Annie's reaction to the Shadowbringers trailer, and once again greeted by fans in The Crystarium! Annie decided to watch it twice as she felt there was so much to take in.

I always loved how the trailer is specifically designed to make you ask lots of questions.
Very, very true.
yeah the first thing i asked myself was "what do you mean how many years have come and gone since that day i was just there" but once you finish MSQ(and twinning datalogs) it makes sense.
*laughs in endwalker trailer*
I watched the ShB several times the day I got to ShB. It's an Amazing trailer, even though the parts that confused you made me go ' WHAT!? '
Also, I was able to make it to a Welcome Party for once so yay for that.
Also, make sure you bring a box of tissues into your streamroom as you progress the MSQ.... No, I am not joking, it ain't called FeelsBringers for nothing
I play on PS. If you leave it alone long enough the game logs you off, goes to the main menu, and starts playing the ShB trailer. If it’s ever playing when I walk through the room I stop and watch. I can’t help it, it’s too good.
We finally made it to Stallbringers! Let's goooo 🥳🥳
The goosebumps hit everytime when the music shift hits.... 😭
The trailer music is top tier, but the eternal wind part of it always makes me weak. Just hits me on so many levels. I hope you enjoy Shadowbringers!
still goosebumps every time
Every. Damned. Time.
So happy to be there to welcome you to Shadowbringers! It has been so much fun watching progress through FF on stream and in game!
Thanks for the video Annie! Great work as always!
Thank you so much!! 🥰
That angel and lion monster are in one of the heavensward dungeons.
actually no, the angel and the chimera are sin eaters held in control by a certain fatass in norvrandt
People go all "ShB trailer is super spoileryyyyyyyyyyy". That amuses me. Until you're a fair way into ShB, this trailer tells absolutely nothing you can make sense of. Spoilers that don't really spoil anything.
They kinda do especially if you pay attention to what the gremlin was telling the Midlander. As a certain someone was repeating those same words as well. That kind of line made me look back and nod the significance behind it.
People who don't know the difference between spoilers and teasers. This trailer tease a lot of stuff, but it makes zero sense until you actually get the explanation in game.
Heavensward trailer is the only one with spoilers, if you happen to watch it before finishing 2.55
It doesnt really spoils anything at all, you are left with more questions than answers compared to like Endwalker
To be fair, it is a spoiler for Stormblood, 4.0’s ending in particular.
It spoils who doesn't die throughout the story
To me, I’m not sure they can outdo Shadowbringers. It was so amazing. I am so excited because if anyone can do it, it’s these guys.
This expansion gave me chills just playing it. So many epic moments.
"did he just say becomg the Warrior of Darkness?"
FUCK YES HE DID
I love this trailer, watched it thousand times and still not bored of it. Best expansion ever!
It was fun seeing what you're actually looking at on the title screen after watching the trailer. You cut the sky like a badass lol
This is the definition of EPIC - both the trailer and the welcome party
some cake to celebrate 🍰🍰🍰
This trailer will always bring me chills
Always happy to see new warriors of darkness
Welcome to the OTHER acclaimed expansion!
welcome to shadowbringers! 24 days till endwalker, you can do dis!
But can I make it through in time is the real question 🤔 😅
Im about to get to shadowbringers too and i too will make it
@@darthfinality depends on how far you are into the story, if you work, and have a couple off days, I finished shadowbringers in about 3 days putting in about 8-12 hours a day, so realistically yes, it can be done in 24 days
@@flavioromano8754 I have faith in you bruh, enjoy the story, don’t rush it, pay attention to even the smallest details
@@1jidion thanks, i am paying attention but im also putting lots of hours into it. Heheheh
Last night i went to bed at 4am coz i was doing the msq and forgot about the time
24 days till Endwalker PogChamp
Still listening to the Shadowbringers trailer multiple times a day, during gym session for example.
Everything is flawless executed. The soundtrack. The music. The ambience. The story. The characters. The mysteries. The questions it raised. The action scenes. The special effects. Especially the job switching parts. And the ending.
For someone who played through ARR, HW, SB without being spoiled, it is a perfect cinematic introducing a new expansion. Thank you again Annie for introducing FFXIV and motivated me to try it out myself!
P.S.: Obligatory "5 minutes till finishing 5.0 guys COPIUM"
Welcome to Feelbringer!
Sadnessbringer!
I can't decide which trailer I love more, this of Heavensward one.
Gratz Annie reaching Shadowbringers! It was quite a journey! Here some cookies for celebration 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
drk in trailer : BOOM WARRIOR OF DANKNESS
drk in game : please dont stun the mobs in dungeon i cast the darknest night :cheems:
Congrats on making it to Shadowbringers!
Anni watching trailer 50% reading chat 50% but still kinda watching trailer in chat as chat is posting the lines a few seconds before the actual trailer says them xD
Lmao!! Props to chat "She Stalls!!!!" 😂
Damn watching this reaction made me realise how much they were baiting the time travel expansion with this trailer
There's definitely some time travel in ShadowBringers
@@BaithNa Yhea but it's not like the whole expansion take place in the past like some thing in the trailer might suggest (younger Minfilia, the exarch saying History should be rewritten, weird looking limsa etc...)
@@sharlockshacolmes9381 SPOILERS FOR SHB, NOT WATCH
There is heavy time travel involved, just not for the player. "History should be rewritten"x is EXACTLY what happens when you got G'hara and a ton of knowledge of the future and since it's his past, it fits entirely.
The whole expansion does take place in the past, just not in ours.
more alternate worlds and isekai stuff instead of time travel
I'm glad to be done with this title screen.
"i really confused"
at least this time you know some name.
5 mins until Endwalker, you better hurry!
Congrats on reaching shb!! Hope you enjoy :D
I just reached SHB and watched this trailer aswell only took me 8 months lol but damn this game this trailer so bloody good
Its gonna be like that for the menu for when Endwalker launches! I love this game to death! And ya the Samurai's RULE! :D
I was watching your vods to catch up but I realised the start of Shadowbringers and several days were missing :(
Ohhhh sorry had to remove some vods from twitch due to DMCA risks, but all my vods can be found here : ruclips.net/channel/UCQqIVlIM4x_9urT-U-0YF3g
@@AnnieFuchsia Thank you so much annie, You're amazing! ♥
WAH
nice reaction to smolbringers!
Annie's reactions show why this is STILL one of the best Final Fantasy trailers of all time. :D
Welcome to Sorrowbringers, Annie! :D
Love itttt ❤
Easily best trailer
Just here to see yet another one confused about the Matoya line
now you are 5 mins away from Endwalker
Bruh...Annie beat me!?....I need to grind harder....
Gonna be hard, since I'm so fast :)
@@AnnieFuchsia nope, you gotta stream other games, I don't lol
I will never not love this trailer.
We stall, we stall
Congrats! Probably for me the best expansion thusfar for me, just finished 5.55 Friday! Welcome to the ride!
rewatching this after going through most of ShB... to me it doesn't... show what happened... so Endwalker's trailer mayhap be deceiving too?
ShB trailer shows what happens before the story starts
I always find it kinda odd when there are one or two people in chat who insist that the streamer should do a quest or two into the expansion before watching the CGI trailer.
...Why? These things are shown to us in full long before we set foot into an expansion? Seems like such an arbitrary thing.
Edit: Not saying this happened during this stream, but it's something that came to mind and happens often enough that it has me raising an eyebrow.
@Jay Bee Most do, but I am referring to like... the one or two people wanting the streamer to go a bit into the expansion before watching it.
Also congratulations, you are no longer a sprout!
Where apples
I love people who call a trailer spoilers.... I mean, bruh.
I changed back to lala for this btw anniesSHY
Can I have some dango for that?
Lala make the best video
6:05 ... get wekt 😝
I have a feeling that Shadowlands tried to rip this off, but ended up failing badly. But I think you’ll definitely enjoy Shadowbringers.
Shadowlands didn't even tried to make sense in it's own canon, let alone ripping off stuff from another game, epic failure.
What part do you think they ripped off? Cuz Shadowlands is about the place after death, and so far Shadowbringers is more about dark vs light with learning that light isn't always the right path, that it can also be a source of evil and dark can be good. If anything this reminds me of the story in Warlords of Draenor when we learned of the draenei (in an alternate reality) that used the light in a bad way, and that expansion came out in 2014
Then again I'm not far into the story, maybe there is a focus on afterlife in Shadowbringers too :)
@@AnnieFuchsia well I don’t remember how far in you are into the story, so I don’t wanna spoil anything. But I think there were similarities that could be called coincidences. But that’s all I’ll say lol
@@AnnieFuchsia It's really hard to answer this without spoilers. Though I think on the surface, people see "Shadow" in both titles and note WoW came out much later. Then in the cinematic they both cut open the sky at the end. Along with there then being a Palace of the Dead / HoH feature called Tower of the Damned with a tower being shown at the end of both cinematics. In addition to you being the "Walker between worlds" or "Maw Walker", as the only champion able to do so at will in both. There were a lot of features added to WoW over the years prior that FFXIV already had as well, that could really only be noted by someone who played both at the same time. But that's just what Blizzard is known for: Taking ideas from games and putting them in. It's just that they've been lesser versions of the original in the last half decade.
Though insofar as the light being able to be used for any purpose, you can look back as far as Vanilla with the Scarlet Crusade. So long as they believed what they were doing was right, they were aided by the light. Which later became to be known as the light following a single path of greater good no matter the cost (Along with the Religious Interpretation of the Three Truths -- Respect, Tenacity Compassion) and the shadow being more open to various true paths regardless of morality. This is actually greatly different from the primordial light and astral flow versus Umbral flow, as you will learn. Man I wish I could go into further detail into this, but it all fits lore established since 1.0 and 2.0 back in 2013.
FFXI also played with this idea back in 2002, but there are huge lore spoilers for that game in that explanation. Some characters have actually travelled from FFXI to FFXIV in lore via events, while others made an appearance with the canon being that they are just that universe's version of them.
I had a whole write up (several pages long) of things to remember that happened while going into the next expansion, but even asking you to keep those in mind might put you on guard or expect some things. I will say that afterlife is a very broad term and the renunciation of flesh and summoning has been a thing throughout the game. Perception of such, and whose shoes you are in, also play a big role in everything. We've only heard one side of a very long story.
Getting a healer, tank, physical DPS and Magical DPS to 80 and doing their role quests will also unlock extra secret story content and lore.
I think they knew the title while ShadowBringers was in production and tried copy it in their own way and completely missed the mark
When all the WoW refugees make it to ShB except Asmon...
Mans gotta take care of his mom first. He doesn’t need to play the game as if it’s his job.
Mom > FFXIV sorry.
His mother died man, let him be...
wait, who boosts past the MSQ then worries about characters in a trailer? xD
What?
@@soksok-jb9ks my comment said “who boosts then worries about characters in a trailer?” ESL?
Can someone explain to me how this is any different to say an anime opening that "spoils"? It absolutely baffles me whenever someone says an open spoils the anime "omg you see a character that you haven't before omg it spoils this or that" yet those same people wouldn't bat an eyelid at watching this trailer. I love both don't get me wrong. But I just can't stand when people take issue over anime openings when it does the exact same thing as these expansion trailers
So, I watched the Shadowbringers trailer before finishing 2.0. Some things that this trailer spoiled me:
- Thancred suvived being possessed by Lahabrea.
- All the scions (that show up in this trailer) survive the Ul'Dah escape.
- I confused mini-filia (Ryne) with the sultana (don't ask me how or why), so I basically didn't believe at any point that she had died. So, sure, that wasn't the trailer's fault, but it did set certain expectations that I wouldn't have assumed had I not seen the trailer.
- At one point we will become the "Warrior of Darkness" pointing that the Light is either evil or not entirely good, which is a thing that sets certain expectations during the 2.X quests and the encounter with Ardbert's party.
Those are the things that come to mind. Some other stuff that other people may notice.
If you haven't finished ARR:
- Urianger's face.
- Lahabrea being exorcised from Thancred's body.
- Light being bad.
- Escalation of hostilities with the Empire.
- The liberation of Ala Mhigo (if you know its flag).
If you haven't finished Heavensward:
- The suspicious lack of Yda and Papalymo.
- The Coerthas flag among the Alliance's flags.
- Minfilia's "survival"
if you haven't finished Stormblood:
- The Doma flag among the Alliance's flags.
- The survival of Yshtola (after Zenos's attack on Rhalgr's Reach)
- The survival of Zenos
And those are some of the things I can think of. So, in conclusion, this spoils as much (or more) than an anime opening.
@@thormag Yea the cinematic trailers spoil stuff from before the expansion they're the trailer of but they don't really spoil anything from the expansion itself
