  • I use a 09 Murano with electronic power steering to show how to replace the serpentine belt that powers the alternator and compressor. You will need a 14mm wrench + a 14mm swivel socket with extension. Same procedure as any similar year Nissan/Infiniti with the 3.5 powerhouse V6.

    I don't mean to sound like a moron. But that 09 Murano does not look like the 09 Murano I'm working on. Looks more like a 08 or older version. The reason I say that is because the one I'm working on doesn't have the idle pulley adjustment bolt on top like the one you show at mark 1:31. I looked everywhere for that thing and is just doesn't have it. Any ideas how to lose the tension on a 2009 or newer Muranos? Great video, btw. Very neat and straight to the point.

      If you do not have a tensioner pulley in the tension is on the alternator situated buy boats in the 3-point position if I'm correct pop in the lower bolt then put tension on the alternator to get the other ones lined in with your belt on of course

    Leave it up to Nissan to make changing the belt so complicated. Changing the belt on my old Chevy Camaro was a 5 minute job as the belt was literally right there as you popped the hood open

      I hate Nissan as much as the next 06 Murano owner, however this ain't bad at all compared to some of the crap thats passed their design review/mechanicability (spark plugs).
      Go stick a 5-6L engine under the hood, front mounted not transverse, and of course you're going to have an easier time of it.
      I'm an average Joe, and I expect it'll take me 10-15 minutes from start to end. No big deal.

    On the tensioner you accessed from the hood with the swivel and extension....were you turning it left or right to loosen it? I slowed the video down and it looked like you were turning it left but then when you went back to turn it again it looked like it was turning right.

    So I just replaced my high pressure power steering line 14 nissan maxima and now I have a slight whine in my steering like I am low on fluid. I was told my serpentine belt is bad. Do the two have anything to do with the whining sound. Can it be the belt is slipping on the power steering pump. IDK?

    Do you have a video showing how to remove the a/c compressor ?

    • @LehewTech
      @LehewTech  6 лет назад

      No sure don't. I have replaced compressors on these before and it's not so bad. 10mm on the ac lines and I believe 14 or 15mm on the nuts/bolts holding the compressor to the block. Compressor comes out via the passenger side wheel well.

    • @stevewaclo167
      @stevewaclo167 4 года назад

      @@tjtewshews5531 Excellent question since forcing it the wrong way will wreck the internals. I’m going with CW, since that is away from the belt, but you NEED to check with a reliable source.
