Julia seems like she is other-directed(she is more concerned with what other people, even strangers, think of her image and character) and needs some emotional connection with her inner self. She lacked confidence and needs work on her self-esteem. It's good this series is a journey for her to become stronger.
I don't think she even likes metal in the first place. She probably isn't into the music, and doesn't really know who Alissa is xD I mean, I'd LOVE to meet her whereas she seems as though she doesn't care a whole lot

She’s trying something new because she’s attracted to it. It’s probably the first thing she’s ever done for herself. She has the right idea of why she wants to join the scene. She’s tired of being weak and being pushed down. That’s where metal/rock came from. People who were tired of the world shitting on them. So how is she any different from any other metalhead? She’s learning just like everyone else has to.
I just wanted to say how cool is it that not only is she getting training from a famous screamer, and have her own band, she gets to hang out with Johnny Plague! Winds of Plague is the most badass metal band ever in my opinion and as far as bullies go she shouldn't worry about them, losers who never succeeded at anything that's all bullies are.

Julia's problem is that she's been given this awesome opportunity to train and learn from Alyssa, but she's 1) Christian to an extent that she doesn't trust non-Christians and favors Christians over REAL metalheads (Alyssa is the only real metalhead in this video) 2) is reluctant to get into the culture. She didn't even go to the first show. Missed meeting IWABO. It's rediculous. it's difficult to watch! Good thing she met WoP. Saw them live. Great band.
