@@theministryofminiatures I really could use this, using the armies suggested in the starter set. Right from step 1. That would be so helpful for us noobies!
I had mine arrive today... Really cool (pun-alert). I think it is my favourite starter set. The Fallschirmjager and Yanks are so nice!! Top quality set, good value!
Thank you, yes I believe it is. I have spoken to several people who also had it in their boxes 👍🏻 It is a great box: if you buy it through Warlord please consider using our affiliate code: r.warlordgames.com/aff/?MINISTRYOFMINIATURES It just gives a little back to support the channel
I'll be honest the A5 rule book is always in my car for when I'm waiting for the Mrs shopping lol and also taking it with me on holiday soon as it's smaller in the bag . Bought the box set on Saturday as was trying to decide whether to try Desert or Battle of the Bulge next as a location for games. Box set made up my mind 🙂
Actually that is a great idea 👍🏻 Good luck with your new winter forces, hopefully we will get some Battle of the Bulge battle reports soon 💥💥💥 Thanks for the comment
I'm hoping Warlord Games comes out with the American Winter War Correspondents set soon. Admittedly it's a niche thing - they're only allowed in Bastogne and can't come within 60 inches of anything other than U.S. Airborne units.
On the example it’s got the LMG squad for 90pts? But in the rule book fjs are 70 plus the LMG +15pts so it’s 85pts? Anyone can explain this? These don’t seem to add up do they?
@@theministryofminiatures not sure they proofread or anything like that? but it does look very unprofessional and odd. I’ve had the V3 rulebook within that starter set since 6th September and there are many mistakes unfortunately 😔

@Chonkulease possibly, I think you could go either way depending on which unit it is representing. I think making your own equal size opposing army is probably the best way to go 👍🏻
Hi @Chonkulease sadly it was a bit of a rout in many places with a large number of US troops surrendering initially. However there were some mediocre results and some stand out acts of heroism with elite units like the 101st
In terms of models yes, however I do believe the Americans are mant to be played as regular and maybe even inexperienced while Fallschirmjäger are not only veterans they are stubborn too. On top of that that Fallschirmjäger have much better access to special weapons such as assault rifles, LMGs, and panzerfausts. Assuming you are using the US troops as standard army (which is probably the intention) then the US won't even get access to weaponry better than a BAR, a fine enough weapon in and of its own right but a bit outdated by WW2 and terribly outmatched by an MG-42
Yes! I am really interested in getting that up and running, just deciding what level to start it!? Whether to pitch at new players, and add some new rules released… or just the new rules for current players.
A basic training video would be awesome!
I am planning a few videos on this at the moment 👍🏻

Yes I agree really good box set 👍🏻
An excellent starter set to get people in to Bolt Action
Thank you, I think it is a great starter set too 👍🏻
I bought mine on Saturday at Warlord Games Open Day!
Great me too! Happy unboxing and look forward to taking on your winter force in a battle report soon 👍🏻
Superb! Cant wait to get mine. Imagine with some of the German Great coated heads you could make some late War German infantry in winter war kit
Indeed, I plan to make different units with using a variety of heads and arms.
It is a great set 👍🏻
Nice breakdown of the content. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this set. Do you think the dice bag will be in every box?

Looks very decent.
Yes I am quite impressed with it. Definitely good value for money, especially having the rules in the box!
Thanks

love that they give you examples for the forces 4 units for the Germans but only 3 dice other than that the models look fantastic
Yes, probably should have just given 6 of each. But it a great set.

Seems you are correct, I wonder if anyone has told them or if they’ve noticed? 🤷🏻♂️
@@theministryofminiatures not sure they proofread or anything like that? but it does look very unprofessional and odd. I’ve had the V3 rulebook within that starter set since 6th September and there are many mistakes unfortunately 😔
…such a shame, I know a few people who are disappointed with the level of proof reading ☹️
@@theministryofminiatures yes it makes you wonder, there’s even a picture of an artillery piece called a Stug 🤦♂️ 🤣 one can only laugh..
Ah yes I saw that… 🤷🏻♂️
Also you can’t make 4 squads of 5 men or less? 5 is the standard so that doesn’t add up. 🧐
If that is the FJ force in the smaller book, there are 3 x 5 men veteran squads and a 3 man platoon commander.
FOUR panzerfausts on one sprue?!
a little bit ridiculous, I'd probably prefer maybe another arm option for a rifle or SMG or AR
Indeed, no kill like overkill…
I will probably do a squad with assault rifles to free up some normal rifles.
Stop making me buy things. Ok maybe just set. Lookong good
Lol! Sorry, not sorry! Such a great set of figures!
@theministryofminiatures yeah il be adding them to my collection that's for sure. Always wanted to do a winter british army too

Bit unbalanced isn't it? , Germans have only 3 dice, Americans get 5 dice and a vehicle!.
I might actually try the scenario as a starter game… the Germans are veterans so are very tough…
@@theministryofminiatures Aren't the Americans also supposed to be veterans during the Battle of the Bulge?
