    Something struck me about the way Chris plays and that’s how fast he gets to the cymbals especially considering their locations. Hi hat is shoulder height and the crashes are almost above his head but his timing from toms to cymbals is quite superb considering how low the drums are, Superb really and most important it looks and sounds like he’s having a blast 👍👍

      He was originally a fusion/prog drummer. I sang with the LA super group he was drummer for. A band backed by and sometimes enhanced by Steve Vai. Back then he set up more like Boszio or early Colaiuta. Everything high.

    great job Chris Frazier on this one..besides a great drummer he seems to be a very humble guy as well. i don't know or most drummers are very down to earth but i have the feeling they are. I had the pleasure of meeting Kenny Aronoff after he helped both my husband and i personally to get tickets for a sold out show with the band he played here in The Netherlands by putting us on the gueslist. we spoke with him for about 15 minutes before the show ,he signed stuff for me and was such a nice, humble guy as well while the bass player had an attitued and walked around like he was God himself.(i refuesed to ask that ego tripper to sign something) Most of the attension goes normally to the singer or the gitarplayer maybe that's why drummers are not big show offs? I just love the drums !!! And i do like Chris his playing a lot....

    dennis elliot is so underrated...if you really listen to his studio cuts on these classics his feel is incredible...chris missed this and did his thing which was good but very rock drumming that passed over the nuances of the song...the general audience wont pick it up, but the feel is also not there...he is a solid working drummer like kenny arnoff...and you need solid night after night as well as being a good hang on tour

      its a bit of fun, its not to every drummers taste as some like to just keep the beat, but its jsut harmless fun and with it being a classic rock song, its one of them songs you can just let loose to :)

    • @TheDrummerMJRIVERS
      @TheDrummerMJRIVERS 9 лет назад

      I AGREE. But pretty sure it's a time keeping trait he has...pretty funny!!! lol

    • @musshwins412
      @musshwins412 9 лет назад

      Mike JoeyDRUMMER I think your spot on with that. if his left hand is any where near that drum, he will probably add a ghost note or something he shouldn't. so by keeping it up, he is keeping the beat more straight and solid. when I was a kid, rikki rocket, the drummer for poison, would wave his left hand around like crazy. I thought it was a glam band trade mark or something. its 20 years later and I see a video of him playing a led zeppelin song, he was waving that left hand around like it was a lasso. it has to be a time keeping thing.

  • @bluehornet6752
    @bluehornet6752 2 года назад

    Dude is a fantastic drummer, but I don't get the whole "swatting flies" move with the left stick. Played for over 30 years, never did that stuff. Works for him though I guess...
