  • A Vic Firth artist spotlight with Foreigner drummer Chris Frazier - including live footage from the stage with many of the band's favorite songs!
Chris has led a long and varied career, most notably launching his career at a young age with legendary guitarist Steve Vai. Frazier has recorded numerous movie soundtracks such as Wayne's World, Gremlins2 and That Thing You Do (where he not only performed the drum track, but consulted with Tom Hanks to make sure the drumming looked genuine).
Chris has also recorded and toured with Tribe after Tribe, Doug Aldrich, Sera Masanori, Edgar Winter, TMB, Eric Sardinas, Eddie Money, Whitesnake and is currently touring with Foreigner.
Chris plays the Vic Firth Metal (CM) drumsticks.

The biggest accomplishment that a drummer can do, is show how he presents himself in how much joy and satisfaction in his ability to own his craft. That in itself speaks volumes

What I've learned in life is that it's not just raw talent needed but also character, ability to get along with others and to flow, whether your traveling around or whatever. That's not for everyone for sure.

I love that story about the director. I have a similar story from high school jazz band. I was way too heavy with the bass drum and the band director finally just took the bass pedal from me...lolol

I was actually the opposite. When I came on to Jazz band my director knew my band at the time was punk and metal so he said "keep it chill and simple". So I did just that. I had him constantly asking me for less finesse and more fills.

This is at the lowest of difficulty - you learn this kind of drumming after 2-3 months. It’s near pathetic that these guys are millionaires of this complete lunatic music
