    Steve, make sure you only use alcohol to clean up the dust before applying more resin to dome. If you use soap or a baby wipe there's oils in those products and they will prevent the next layer from adhering properly. 😉

    AAAWWW SO PRETTY!!! The earrings are pretty too..... The whistle that was at the first of the video was surprising that it even had the little pea/bead inside.
    Yes I want one of the printers, but, hubby says NOT THIS YEAR!!! Oh well, maybe next year.
    Love the display rack, it's what I've been trying to find for shows!! So now you know what the first thing I will make when if ever I get a 3d printer.

    My son bought a 3d printer a few years ago. It ended up coming from China and needed complete assembly. One of the server motors was not working, so he has to buy a new one. It's basically a $250 paperweight at the moment. I personally think the uv resin 3d printers seem more user friendly, but I don't have any actual knowledge of that, just an impression on what I've seen in other channels.

    • @ClyFaker

      I use a UV resin printer and it's a bit of a love/hate relationship for me. I love the incredible amount of detail I can get with it vs. a filament printer, but the cleanup of each print is a pain.

    • @TonyaRocks
      @TonyaRocks 2 года назад +2

      a stepper motor was less than $25 to replace, you build them so you know how they work, there are tons of videos showing how to fix problems. they are really not hard at all & I hope he doesn't let the set back stop him from creating

      @@TonyaRocks yeah, I don't know if he got the motor yet or not, but he's been busy working to pay bills, so hasn't had much time to work on it, nor the space. He is definitely keeping it....he just has other priorities now.

    Steve, Thank You so very much being online. I am a resin newbie and have picked up many tips from your videos. I need your ideas on an issue I have. I like to pour jars with lids. The lids will often have knobs on top. Have had occasion where the knobs did not cure properly and were almost the same as when poured 24 to 48 hours earlier. Any ideas or suggestions will be most welcome. Thank you in advance. Love your videos.

      He used to answer questions, but lately ... Are you using a deep pour resin? I have a few molds like this and have just poured that very top part separately. Usually in a different color, or I use a glitter, gold or silver leaf flakes, etc. That way I don't have to worry about matching colors exactly. Plus, this gives a nicely distinctive look.

      Resin printers are more fiddley and potentially more dangerous with the chemicals. If disposed of properly - the PLA used in 3D printing is biodegradable.
