Thanks So much for this. I have just come back from holiday at the sea and I brought back 5 x 2kg tubs of sea sand and a bag of shells that I have been thinking of making into keyrings but I just could not come up with an idea. So tomorrow I am off to my local shop to buy small ziplock bags and I am going to make them straight away. Thanks So much for your channel. It really inspires me to be creative.
My first watch! Glad to see I'm not the only "baggie hoarder" for crafts! Plus, not only have you inspired ideas but I've now learned a way to make the metal loops! Definitely going to watch more of your videos, especially since I'm about to start projects! °•○💜👍💜○•°
The sound effects!! This is why I l9ve your videos. You are so approachable and you make this look so easy! I love these little sea side keychains! So cute!!
Steve, you went and did it again!! The key chains turned just beautiful and they look so easy to do, not only that, I to have about a bazillion of those little bags laying around from my orders. Thanks Steve, so enjoy watching you 😊
Your imagination never fails to amaze 😀. I keep larger bags to store moulds and bits and bobs in, but I would never thought of using plastic bags to pour resin into to make something.
I love these. I just moved near the beach so i can use real shells. Im a little excited. The pliers are circlip pliers, I love the way it twists the wire. Gives a little extra character.
Brilliant idea for little gift eg new home or filling with items that bring back special memories, oops my mind is racing 😆 lol....I wonder if you could add glow in the dark on some of the fillings... I'm so glad I came across Yr videos, I'm new to resin but I'm already addicted to it 😁😁.....xx
Love this idea! My daughter and her family just came home from a beach vacation and brought the obligatory shells and sand, as well as a few very tiny pearls they found. I’m definitely doing some of these, and adding a mermaid charm in the resin for my two-year-old granddaughter.
this is exactly what I needed! I'm turning a novelty mug into a snowglobe-esque environment and I've been trying to figure out how to do a resin teabag inside. I'll definitely be making use of the resin in a zipper bag method!
They turned out so cute - I can't believe it was cured in a bag! I made a similar sea scape recently in a cube mould. My first attempt was too dark a blue too but my second turned out much better. I wish I'd had those Jellyfish though!
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts That's a great idea. I have loads of acrylic paint but I was always worried about whether the colour would run in the resin. I'm.glad it's not the case. Thanks x
what an amazing idea! it looks like its a captured part of the ocean in a bag. loved it. Love your works they are awesome, really out of the box. I´m a newbie with resin and trying to learn. Thanks for the video
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I just wanted to say thank you again for this one.... Your instructions on making rings is so great!!! I've been looking for this information and I knew you had shown it before. 🎶🎶🦋🦋ringy-dingy
Wow they are awesome! The lighter blue was more effective. Smart using the UV resin to keep the shell & jellyfish in place! I have to get to the beach to get some sand!
Thank You so much for making this vid !! I have been playing around with uv resin and I have made some pieces that none of the jump rings that I have would fit and now . Thanks to you I know how to not only make my own but any size at a fraction of the cost of buying premade ones and love the baggie ocean scenes too cute and easily accessible to do.
I am now getting ready to take the baggies off the fish in a bag I made several years ago & quit wearing due to the bags lol thanks Steve for the great idea!
Very neat!! I save a lot of containers and such as well. :) Not only little bags from when I buy jewelry findings etc. but also some food containers like my cottage cheese containers, glass minced garlic jars with lids, and my fancy real sliced cheese plastic containers that are black with clear lids. They all make great craft storage and save me from buying storage supplies. Oh and also I got these little mini pies for my son when he was young. They have a little pie tin in each that is perfect height and size for putting seed beads in when working on a beading project. :D I have a few hundred of those saved in an old nike shoe box or two. :P That way I don't have to buy those seed bead trays. These work just as well and I can just dip my threaded needle in there to pick up the beads I need. :D - Heidi
clever idea Steve. I am surprised the plastic didnt melt when the resin heated up. why do you think it didn't? is it the type of plastic used. I have tried piping bag and just melts. Might be because the piping bags were cheap.
Neat! I grew up on Long Island, New York, and the atlantic was literally 3 blocks down my street. The water there was always a green color though, never blue. I didn't see blue until I went to Venice and saw the true mediterranean blue color. I prefer the lighter colored bags, and if you add a tiny smidge of yellow or green it should come closer to the color of the Atlantic down my street. For the darker ones though- I wonder if glow in the dark items would be able to charge up from the local light and glow for you in there? Do you have any glow in the dark resin colorant?
Where did you get the micro brush? Amazon? I just found your channel today and sooo glad I did!! Going to become a member!! Thank you for your cool ideas and projects!!
Just pulling your leg. No judgements here (life is hard enough). I say whatever gets you through and harms none. Pot is legal where I am and I’ve definitely had a delivery or two during this effing endless pandemic so...👍
What hand light/torch is best for fast uv resin Iv got a uv lamp just wanted a torch but now I’m confused as Iv seen 365nm n 395nm uv torch it flashlight. What torch is Steve using please thank you a confused person
Really cute idea! Might be a good idea to round the corners, they could hurt if in a person's pocket or you try to fish keys out of a purse. I'm off to make a couple!
Thank you so much for saying "jewelry" and not "jeweler-y". Might seem a minor point, but hey...there's a lot to be said for well-spoken English. So, thanks! "_
Isn't it dangerous to use the plastic bags with resin? Normally you would use silicone molds because resin can melt plastic. some plastics wont melt as easy as others, but still, if you don't know what you are working with, this could be dangerous
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I am glad that you mention its about the size of the bag. I am new to resin designs, but I worry about the safety of everything. I can understand that because of the size of the bag, the resin wouldn't get as deep as it would need to heat itself up. But thank you for clarifying, because I would hate for someone to grab a quart or gallon sized ziplock bag thinking they can use it as a mold. I myself am terrified to do any resin more than a few cm deep. Thats just my own fear at work. But I don't mind gradually building up layers over time, probably because I don't actually have any time restraints
Everything about you makes me happy! You're like the Bob Ross of resin!
Omg that's a great comparison! He def is!
I agree on that
I love your videos, they are straight to the point and you don't ramble on like others do. Yours are definitely the best.

Will any zip locks work for this? I have to try this
Hi Steve! Resin Dipoxy-2K-700 hardens with UV lamp? Thank you!
Have you ever use your leftovers and put them in to your work
Nice idea! I think I will hang the bag the time the resin sets then there will be no wrinkles?🐳
looks like its still in the bag...and a heavy key ring....good for protection!1
