I bought all three Nivadas. The Chronomaster came defective (and wasI bought all three Nivadas. The Chronomaster came defective (and was not new either). I was supposed to prove this with a video, which I did. Then happened: NOTHING MORE. The "service center" in Hong Kong was said to be unable to send me a back label, so I had to have the supposedly new watch repaired at my own expense. I'm not even completely sure whether the watch also contains the specified movement, because two comparison watches react completely differently. Every buyer is asked by NG to give a positive rating on Trustpilot after the purchase - hence the high rating on trustpilot. But look at the one - and two stars. Same experience ...
It is a fun watch to wear mainly due to its provenance. The thing was only around for 10 years, but it was something a little special and functional 60 years ago. The best feature of the watch is its rotating bezel, very useful. As nice as it is, I think the watch gets more pr than it really deserves because of its obvious short comings. Most obvious is its microscopic sized sub dials. This is not the chronograph to use in those stressful situations where you need an immediate, unambiguous reading. Only a 30-minute timer and no date add to its limitations. But of course, all of this doesn't mean you should not buy it because re-read my first sentence. I wish the new Hamilton military khaki chronograph had this watch's bezel.
I've been vacillating about getting this watch as its the perfect all-rounder but it still lacks that "buy one now" feeling. Maybe when I see it in person, cause on paper, it checks all boxes.for me. BTW, no need to be messing around with the chronograph under water. It's meant for speed timing due to the tachymeter. The bezel is the one to use.
Definitely on my radar right now. I'm looking for a chrono for up to 2000 USD. I was looking at maybe a used Speedmaster, a quartz Certina model, a Hamilton Khaki Chronograph, or this one. I feel this could be the one. Thanks for a great review 👍
Love that watch. Too bad about the power outage, what will that state do once internal combustion cars cant be imported to Ca. ? Your power grid cant meet demand now. Your Gov. is an idiot.
I got one of these a couple of months ago and I'm going to declare that this will be a keeper.
Very happy with this watch, great brand history, quality finish, finally a manual chronograph I can wear on my small wrist.
Great review, really interesting watch, thanks for a comprehensive and articulate review, I am still a fan. Love from London.

They look like split pins from my view are you sure there’s screws?
Nice watch

Its like a beautiful woman until she turns to the side and her nose is huge. This is a stunner, but its way too thick.
