Good well balanced review. I have the handwound version with white lume and broad arrow hand. For those who say the broad arrow hour hand obstructs the subdials,if you think this may be an issue there is a version with straight baton style hands. I personally prefer the look of the broad arrow hour hand. The issue regarding overhang is only applicable to the beads of rice bracelet. There are other options including an oyster bracelet. I really like the watch but agree some may be put off by the negatives mentioned in the review. For those looking for a Swiss handwound chronograph at this price this is a good option in my opinion.
Great review! 100 meters is plenty folks. If you're a water resistance snob the automatic has 200m. As a diver, I know that unless my backup dive watch has a depth gauge (My Aquis Depth Guage), higher water resistance is pointless. I would never take a chrono swimming, regardless of the claimed resistance.
It's definitely attractive & i do like it & did expect the price to be around its cost , the wr100 isn't an issue nor the push pins but the endlinks & poor lume let it down ,no reason for either imo at this price & a reissue of a heritage classic , i ca see why you have the love but sheds aren't too snug in winter 😉.
There’s some nice throwback features, but I think the slight negatives outweigh the effort to make a modern vintage. Price point is a little off but only by a few hundred quid i reckon. I wouldn’t buy it, however, the Newman Panda options are really pretty on the eye and even an original albeit modernly remastered Valjoux would certainly hit the spot, but there again, value wise, still asking a kings ransom. Fabulous review matey and as always honestly and tactfully put

I was supposed to prove this with a video, which I did. Then happened: NOTHING MORE. The "service center" in Hong Kong was said to be unable to send me a back label, so I had to have the supposedly new watch repaired at my own expense. I'm not even completely sure whether the watch also contains the specified movement, because two comparison watches react completely differently. Every buyer is asked by NG to give a positive rating on Trustpilot after the purchase - hence the high rating on trustpilot. But look at the one - and two stars. Same experience ...
Really dislike it myself -🤔 too small, box crystal, chronograph subdials obscured by the broad arrow hour hand... Pricey too, which I get ( movement), but for less I got a fully restored true Pogue..a genuine historical watch .😉 And to compare this to the Speedmaster, the ultimate chronograph ( maybe the ultimate iconic watch) is heresy 😱🤣 Good extensive review👏🏻, did enjoy it - variety is the spice of life after all. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Heresy indeed, I thought that passing comment might upset the apple cart... I nearly titled the review 'Speedmaster Alternative' but held back. A pogue review would be good !!!
I don’t see how this isn’t worth it, it’s maaaybe a couple hundred bucks but I mean…not much out there under $2k with this movement and quality of finishing
Looks nice from a distance but the closer you get, the weaker it looks in my view. Bit rough around the edges and the fonts used are a bit ropey looking too. Male end links too are just a terrible idea. Why do they do it?!
Great review and video. I'm all in to buy the manual wind!
Slimmer still... enjoy
No desire to own this watch, but your review is A plus. Thanks for the video

Thanks Eric, it’s good to get an owners perspective on such a great watch
I'm getting the mechaquartz version for under $500, so I don't have to sleep in the garage 🤣😭🤣😭
Now that is a good shout
Well done review. Succinct, to the point, and packed with detail. Thanks for this. Best to you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I'm with you Alex, to many pushers to take this underwater
Great review mate, love the honesty! Comparing it to the Christopher Ward 65 Chronograph would be great. Similar design goals. Cheers!
If CW would like to loan me a watch I’ll be happy to review it
12:16 The art of salty?! Can you elaborate?
Subtlety
Looks amazing. I think unscrewing/screwing the crown every morning might get old.
Any excuse to play with the beauty
Not really, as it’s not a screw down crown according to the reviewer
@@trailrunnermikeI heard him talking about unscrewing the crown. Around 5:30. I don’t know.
Great review 👍
Thanks! 👍
Good Job … perfect review
Glad you liked it

My shed is packed with garden furniture… if they made the improvements, I’ll be chopping logs to keep warm

Sorry to hear this Dieter, I loved my copy but only had it for short term review. Lets hopw NG see you right
Great watch, great build, great history, great price. Haters are just watch snobs
I cant see any reason to hate this watch, I wonder if Nivada would give me a discount
Like it nice watch.
I agree
its an interesting and good looking re-issue I am going for the pac man
The Pac Man looks like a fun watch but is a serious hardcore diver

I think the fonts are inkeeping with the original, maybe why they look dated
Diver with 100 meter you are serious?more than 1500 euros? You are serious? Chrono? Who use chrono? More than 500 euros is too expensive....
These would fly under a grand
Oh! Oh! We have a cheapskate. Nobody likes a hater but broke ass haters are the worst.

I did
So you know the new Nivada Grenchen is Chinese owned and Chinese made!
@lastW??
You said you did do your research! what was your conclusion?
