I got the Intense SOLELY based on your praise and reviews of this fragrance. Ordered it from Walmart and MAAANNN!! Was definitely surprised and pleased. Not the same--but I put it in the same category as YSL Live. Dont know what it is about the scent but I love it! Nice cool summer's day scent...the original was a staple back in the day--but this one is under the radar--but well worth the risk!! Now I gotta get my hands on the Parfume to complete the set!! Thanks as always for your review and looking forward to the next one!

I love love LOVE the og. Esp versions made prior to 95; more rich and niche. That combo of mint rosemary neroli & sea notes is so incredibly uplifting and boosts mental cognition like 30 mins on the tread. My go to for casual uplifting. Masterpiece.

He spoke of body chemistry; I am 55 and have come to realize it all has to do with your routine before you spray the Cologne when you shower with just soap-smelling body wash, not perfume-smelling body wash and then do cocoa butter every single cologne that I wear has a fantastic smell I have had friends tell me I wear the same cologne you wear why does it smell better on you it is my routine before I put on the cologne that makes it smell better I use a fresh scent body wash then I do cocoa butter for my lotion then I spray on whatever cologne I love. It doesn't matter if it's cool water or YSL for a hundred fifty dollars a bottle. It brings out the best of whatever cologne you wear when your pre-routine is on point.
Hii there, I just need to confirm something. Before applying cocoa butter, should I shower with a soap or a body wash?
Also, does the soap/body wash need to be scented or perfumed??

Another good review/guide. I still have a bottle of the original but I rarely wear it now as I kind of feel a bit self conscious, for some reason. I guess it’s a bit dated now. I might try the other flankers.

@@quietatse Cool Water Intense. So worth it, the compliments are really really good the coconut note is extremely pleasing.
I bought the original years ago and found it weak and didn't last very long although I liked the smell. I like a really 'loud' strong fragrance to enter a room before I do. If this Intense or parfum version does that then I may try it again.
Yes Parfum is my daily office fragrance. It's not intense but pleasing scent. But my special occasion one is Dior Fahrenheit.

Cool Water Aquaman (or Streetfighter) is the best. I have and love the whole line. But Aquaman really stands out.
Recently got cw intense. Not as I expected. Opens up with orange note which quickly fades away in 10 -15 mins. Then creamy coconut and amber smell kicks in which stays upto 8 hrs or more. Good for cloudy weather and winters. Should have named it Luke warm water 🤣

I still really like the original. It's so refreshing & cooling. The Parfum feels (unlike the EDT) pretty dry (typical ambroxan thing) and very clean. In fact it reminds me of a fresher, simpler, more citrusy (mainly orange) and cleaner version of Dior Sauvage (no black pepper). To me it fairly quickly smells like Sauvage's far drydown ... just cleaner.
Cool water parfum doesn’t have ambroxan
@@EVsSuck777 He might think that spiky smell is ambroxan, I thought the same, I don't clearly know which note is that one, I believe it is pink pepper and both fragances give that sensation.
I know the three pretty well and the best is definitely the original in my opinion, not even a surprise honestly..they put much more effort in the first one, there was a ton of work behind and nonetheless they used a creed as a model..pretty obvious.
Also the parfum could have been a very nice solid release but lack of too many things, too minimal and average as a smell
It's the same perfumer who created green Irish tweed and cool water. So it's not a matter of "they used Creed as a model". Both original though similar creations
I think I’ve bought entirely too many fragrances because of you lol. Saw coolwater Parfum was on sale for $50 for a 100 mL at Macy’s. Grapefruit and Sage and intense are all around 40 at rackstores and online so I figured why not. Love it.

Do you still recommend 2021-2022 batches Intense over the original cool water when it comes to projection?
I feel like the Original cool water is heavily watered down and reading online , people are saying it doesn't perform after 1hr.
I think the intense is the way to go.
I don't really play the batch code game. I just buy whatever fragrance interests me. How it performs on me is how it performs on me. No reason to over complicate things

Thanks man, I have grown to just despise 3-4 hr scents after getting my hands on a few frags with outstanding longevity, I mean I can still smell them at the end of a 10hr work day. I have been on a hunt for great longevity frags and Iv heard good things out of cw intense, can’t wait to get it

I have tried all 3 and agree with your assessments. I hope the clone houses do a vintage OG formulation 1988 version cuz I remember it being more Blue aquatic without the synthetic harshness imho.
There is a clone of cool water I got from walmart a while ago called "Blue Depths" and it smells alot like the OG cool water. It was 7 or 8 bucks too. Not bad.

I just picked up a small bottle of this. Batch code says manufactured in 2019. One spray on the back of my neck and this is nuclear. Stronger than CDNIM. Not sure how much I really care for it yet or how it will fit into my rotation but the bottle should last me forever with this kind of potency

Normally I am into MFK, Creed, I am trying Amouge (but I didn’t find a scent yet that suits me) - so I wasn’t expecting much from 19,95€ Eau de toilette cool water. But I wore it in the early 90ies and I know people tend to say it is like Green Irish Tweet, at least the dry down (same perfumer as well). I am really pleased with the result, sitting on my balcony now, over 20 degree, light breeze and cool water is fresh aquatic. Will take it that on my Thailand tour in summer… 🌊 🌞

I miss the old Cool Water, used to be my signature scent until it got reformulated. Pre 2014 it had this magic ozonic aromatic quality, now it just smells flat to me :(

Current cool water lasts less than an hour on my skin not joking. I barely get a gym session out of it. Bath and Body Works frags are performing better though Cool Water does have a richer scent initially than the Bath and Body Works freshies. Just doesn't last

While actually cool water is the best Davidoff fragrance in terms of most popular, in actuality it’s not thee “best”, fame doesn’t mean it is and underrated ones should not be overlooked, because grapefruit & sage (a fresh take) and oceanic (a summer/beach take) are great cool water flankers! They are different so feels like your wearing something new, not common so ppl will wonder what your wearing and smell completely different from cool water but nonetheless great! Night dive and parfum version are different and decent as well. try then but go in as if you are trying a new line released instead of comparing to cool water and not as you are trying them out as oldies or just flankers. Forget the rest

Do you know what’s so funny, growing up in Southern California I have always associated cool water And drakkar With the gang member element LOL when I was growing up in the 90s all the gang members would either wear cool water or drakkar lol So when I first smelled the intense version, I was blown away. I picked it up and I absolutely love it .

I love the original one, but I never really wear it, main reason being it is what my girlfriend's father wears. I wear the Intense to work when I need to work in the field, just because it lasts the whole day. I don't really like the smell of it at all.

In my opinion Cool Water Intense does deserve the name, its the modern hawaiian/caribbean version of cool water 😉
Smells just like Eros without mint note .. definitely a fall winter fragrance doesn’t smell tropical at all … I was really disappointed with this because all the reviews .. I’ll be returning this because I already have eros edt and flame

@@mlinger18 I don't need to check other reviewer's when I smell myself, they have totally different note breakdowns. It is chemically impossible to smell alike 😄
Despite that, Eros is very scratchy with the sharp and sour citruses and mints.

Seems like it, it's no longer listed there. If you're still looking for it though, 1-perfumes on ebay seems to have it right now, $34. Haven't ordered yet, but highly considering doing so.

Out of Cool Water Intense or Versace Dylan Blue, which do you recommend? I am looking to get a versatile all round frag, and I'm torn. I feel nostalgia for the Cool Water name, but I hear Dylan Blue is darker and has an incense note, and I love incense and more mature, darker colognes. Other suggestions are welcome, if any other frags come to mind.
I have both and I like both but I think you should start with Dylan Blue. You'll probably like it more because it's more versatile and uplifting.
